Call it “educational.”
Maybe he’ll learn how to spell Colorado.

isn’t scamming the system par for the course?
Call it “junket.”
An “educational” trip to the DNC? huh? whats he going to learn? how to whine?
It onlee cums from the tax payirs dollirz.
educational?? wonder what he learned? after all he already seemed well versed on how to rip off the taxpayers. even going to that great vacation spot colorada.
It’s ed-u-mu-kashun-al!
It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to see my tax dollars are at work like that.
Sad thing is that he’ll probably get away with it thanks to Nancy & Friends.
I believe he has violated a law here:
For a democrat to even use the word “Educate” is highly illegal .
Plus everyone knows democrat politician’s
are too stupid to learn in the first place.
If it were my state, I’d file an Election Commission complaint. If he is that important to his Party, then the DNC should pay. If not, it should not come out of taxpayer funds to pay for a trip that the representative is too cheap to out-of-pocket himself.
At least he could be honest in his reason, and either put “Smoozing for more Guv’ment Cheese” or “Politicing to get my butt out’ta MS”.
somehow educational and dnc don’t go together, it’s a conflict, much like pelosi and smart.
“Hey , I just flew in from the coast, boy are my arms tired!”
“Take my wallet please!”
“Thank you! Thank you! I’m here all week!
I’d be just as enraged if a Republican did this.
Colorada is one of Hussein O’s extra states. Colorada is between the states of Delusia and Lunasotta bordered on the north by Insaniana.
Educational? DNC? This has to be a joke.
The Commonwealth of Confusionia boarders that as well, does it not?
I’m sure the Kos dummies and Andrea Mitchell will try to rationalize this.
Perhaps he plans to walk the picket line with the teacher’s union;

And if he needs a place to stay;

From the information found on the linked invoice, it appears that Tyrone got his travel expenses ($1,760.00) up front on 8/14/08, a full week before the convention.
It used to be, in corporate America, we would have to show an authentic receipt before the good bureaucrats in Accounting would begin a 2 month process for a reimbursement.
I sure hope Tyrone uses his upfront $1,760.00 for actual travel expenses, and not for booze or something else you can buy with cash. But I am sure the good Democrats of Missouri thought about this already.
Whoa, I’m needing some education on the Grand Canyon, wonder if my very own Sen Durbin could get me some of that there money to fly out and learn all about it?
DNC education.
Hooked on phonics! Lemme ax you for a vowcher, pleez.
hey-
I don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean but be careful, truly.
Maybe he needs to come to Denver to learn how to spell Colorado.
1760 for lodging is quite high. Even if he was spending a whole week, that’s more than $200 a night.
I live in Colorado. Most hotels are well below that price.
Those attending for ehdukashunal purposes will be seated in the “cone of silence!” The cone of silence was discovered recently in an MRI of BHO’s brain in the rational thinking cortex.
dmacp–I expect every hotel in the Denver area has raised their rates for the week to take advantage of the DNC delegates.
Anyway, “Colorada” is the phonetic spelling. Like Missourah.
Hmmmm? Tyrone Ellis, a representative from Mississippi, staying at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The convention is August 25-28th. What is that, 4 nights? $1760 divided by 4 nights is $440.00 per night for “lodging.” Would it be safe to assume that includes the “special rates” for “government/military”, like the Hilton offers on its site for registering and the “group/convention code” discount?
Not a bad haul on the taxpayers’ back, huh?
It’s more like having your brain cells die off at an accelerated rate the more you are exposed to the DNC and the convention. But they don’t want educated and rational thinkers in their ranks anyway.
BUT, we at home, who think the convention may be the entertainment highlight of the summer, will expose our brain cells to a small amount of it on TV at a time. It should be fun - and I’m still pulling for Shrillary! : )
As a independent business owner and (unfortunately) a higher pegged taxpayer (you only pay taxes if you make money), I find the $1760 pretty steep for Denver. Remember, this is only for lodging.
Hopefully the education will be mainly on the 7 colors for food groups.
Perhaps he should invest some money in remedial spelling. Did this loser ever graduate from grade school?
“We pledge to make this the most honest, ethical, and open Congress in history”…uh..I mean…scratch the ‘Ethical’.
Love,
Nancy..
#21 HR: you hit the nail on the head… Spent a few years in Oklahoma, it was MISSOURAH, MIAMAH OK, AND COLORADA… No wonder they called us YANKEES or DAMN YANKEES… A DAMN YANKEE is one who moves to OK…
I’d sure like to take a taxpayer funded “educational” trip to Colorada, but where is it? Some of us US Americans don’t have maps. I don’t want to get lost along the way and end up in Iraq…
State House Member Tyrone Ellis (D-Starkville)…watching out for his “peeps.” Would he have been so generous if the money came out of his own pocket? Dare I say no? He is, after all, a Democrat…
I am curious however, about what exactly the educational benefit is for an already “elected” member of the establishment. Shouldn’t he already be knowledgeable about the inner-workings of the political system?
This is nothing more than helping a “bro” attend the big par-tay, by bilking the taxpayer for some of the expense. I wonder if hookers are included in the funfest?
Next, he’ll take an “educational” trip to “Tuh-heet-tee”.
For that city, that is the proper pronunciation. Not like “Mi-am-mee” in Florida, although it is spelled the same way.
I am sure he could stay in a Courtyard or Holiday Inn.
$1700 awfully pricey for 3 nights on our dime!
Let’s not be too hasty to criticize now, it could be an educational trip…maybe ‘Colorada’ is one of the 57 states BO talks about.
See? Right there’s a problem. Colorada is correct, as is Na-vah-duh. But its Mah-sur-EEEEEEE!!
O/T
I love the Colorada “Pioneers” (5th generation locals) who think that everyone should go back to where they came from. And that they ‘hate’ Texans. Then I have to give them a history lesson, that they are really originally just Texans themselves (check the 1840 maps) and THEY should probably go back to where they came from. (My ski lift lines are too long!)
Also as an FYI, to a lot of Southerners, a “Yankee” is anyone who lives north of you - even if north is only 5 miles away. And living in one town for 50 years does NOT mean you are ~from~ there.
I hope none of you are planning on a hotel room Super Bowl weekend - it’s in Tampa, so rooms should be $75 a night, right?
BruceB - FYI, “politician’s” = “politician is” and “politicians” is plural of “politician”. I’m just sayin’…
Educational?
Yeah.. I can see the class in session on the streets of Denver.
“Ok Mr.McCoy.. when you talk to a hooker.. never use your real name. And if they someone figure out your a polician, tell them you’re a republican.”
and if they somehow figure out…
you’re
oops
NJ Aviator - you should leave…this is a tough room if you’re prone to typos. Clearly it means you did not graduate from grade school.
What’s grade skool?
Nice.
Colorada is one of the 60 states…
Looks like Mayor Nutter is using Philly tax payers dollars to finance his hommies trip to the DNC Convention.
Wish the good Mayor could find a way for city tax dollars to fund my trip to the RNC convention!
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/local/20080815_City_paying_for_Nutter_s_staff_at_convention.html
Someone explain exactly why ANY tax dollars are paying for ANYONE to travel and stay in Denver for this jerk-a-thon!
And I don’t give a rat’s patoot if they aare DEM or REP. These ‘delegates’ should be using their own, or their parties’ money. Period.
I think this should be completely illegal, not simply unethical.
if the taxpayer doesn’t pay for this rent a riot mob, the national anarchist or communist party would, and they can’t be using valuable molatov cocktail funds on mere transportation to the riot. so of course the taxpayer must pay, because these victims of oppression have a right to riot.
I heard that Pelosi was going to bankroll the special educational junkets with the royalties from her latest book…quickly changed to tax payer’s dime.
Seems like the sheeple gotta pay one way or the other.
