Kinda strange that here is the only place I read about this “little ole sweetheart”. It doesn’t seem to be headline news on the MSM. This is also the only place I heard about that sick and disgusting B on W crime in Knoxville. I don’t seek out these articles but I shouldn’t have to……..it’s news that people have the right to know. These types of news seem to be buried until Michelle digs them up and sheds light on them (GBU Michelle). In a way I kinda wish that punk would have thrown the phone at her but she is such a sweety I’m sure it would have bothered her later on if she blew his pea sized brain out but…………maybe not (GBU2 gramdma).

In a county close to me, someone actually called the sheriff when an intruder broke into their house. The mother hid with the children in a large closet and she was armed with a pistol. She dialed 9-1-1 with a mobile phone and the idiot dispatcher told her to lose the gun because someone might get hurt! I’m not joking! She was arguing with the dispatcher about how the gun was the only protection she had and the dispatcher was telling her to get rid of the gun.
Can you imagine any sane person doing what that loon suggested? That’s what passes for “good advice” in the Peoples Socialist Democracy of California.

That kid fared far better than if he had walked into my house and i caught him. if he has any modicum of sense at all, he will take this as an omen that he should go straight and never again do something such as evil against another human being. He should view the fact that he went onto someone else’s home and was caught at gun point by it’s owner, who had every right to blow what little brains he had in his head all over the phone he ended up using, and try and do something with his life.
But alas, considering how the Liberals have completely destroyed the system, he will only blame someone else for his folly, try to lay it all on his mom and dad and bad childhood, go out and next time, use a gun his self first.
Yeah, i think it would have been better all the way around to have just emptied the fun into the punk, saving the county millions, and someone else’s life in the future.
Good going though for this lady. Another prime example of why owning a sidearm in your home is far better than relying on the poice to keep you safe.

As anyone who has seen bullet wounds could tell you, a .22 can be more damaging than a .357.
See, the small little bullet won’t necessarily make an exit out of the body. Instead, it will remain inside, and prior to it stopping, will bounce around inside, doing a hell of a lot of damage to tissues and organs.
Besides, there is not much recoil from a .22, and when you are a seasoned American such as this Great-Grandmother, you don’t need to get your wrists injured when giving some dirtbag a well needed lead injection, nor do your need your hand to be unsteady from the weight of a larger caliber handgun.
I, however, really like my Ruger 9mm. Never jams, and shoots as straight as anyone could hope for.
Yea, there we go. Just like my Grandma. Shoot him then spit in his eye. You know you’ve had a great childhood when your Grandma reminds you of Josey Wales.
Let’s go one step further: Instead of Leda Smith & Wesson, how about LEAD Smith & Wesson? God bless her!

Right you are, the only issues is stopping power, a .22 doesn’t give much raw “knock-down” power especially if you are dealing with a large physically-powerful individual or some addict.

Just happens that a .22 caliber is the weapon of choice for doing the job by assassins world wide. Don’t underestimate its power. It can kill you dead.

Yep. As is any school that is a gun-free zone. They should really be renamed free-fire zones, as no one there has the means to defend themselves, and by the time law enforcement arrives, there will be victims.
Where I work, they’re instituting a safety plan that you can tell was created by a liberal bureaucracy. Not only do they refuse to arm our security guards, they expect average employees to stand guard (again, unarmed) at entrances to screen for any criminals in the neighborhood (i.e., in the event of a bank robbery or shooting in the area). This is our “lockdown.”
Fortunately, my co-workers assigned to stand guard duty (in a glass staircase where their only exits are outside…toward danger, or on the SECOND FLOOR) told them no.
I’m meeting with one of the planning team members to express concerns. How quickly do you want to bet I’m reprimanded and/or fired for daring to suggest we arm our security guards?

I’m an electronic technician. I’ve always felt that a security guard without a gun would be like asking me to do my job without my screwdrivers or voltmeter.

Similar thing happened to my Grandfather/Grandmother one night many years back.
When he woke up to someone breaking into his back door he grabbed one of his guns, and then in the dark he yelled across the house to either get out or get shot.
The perp promptly exited. And they never saw each other face-to-face.

Our Granny is lucky to live in a place where people can use deadly force to protect themselves in their dwellings (unlike Chicago, NYC and Cook County, IL).
As for advice from the 9-1-1 dispatcher to get rid of the gun … a point one who think about is in places where a home invasion call gets a SWAT team reponse, there’s a risk that the SWAT team isn’t going to be able to tell right away who the lawful occupant is; in this sort of situation anyone they see with a gun in their hand might get shot even if that is outside “matrix of force” thanks to Affirmative Action and “G.O.B. network” hiring policies.
