We should hold Presidential candidates at least to the standard we hold athletes — play by the rules or get the boot. McCain broke a rule designed to make sure he was clean. He came late. He had the opportunity to cheat. He should have some consequences.

We must use government intervention and more tax money to punish McCain even though the Constitution says :

They propped him up into something he isn’t and now that the REAL Obama is showing himself, now they must come to the rescue!

Obama did not offer it as an excuse. Obama supporters agree that his answers were not influenced by McCain listening in (if he was).

The reason why Obama isn’t making it an excuse is so he doesn’t further discredit himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was told to keep his mouth shut so the media can do all the defending for him.

If the McCain people had said: “Yes, he was supposed to be in isolation, though he was not in the beginning. We apologize for our failure to comply with this aspect of the agreement. We state for the record that John McCain did not listen in nor was he given any information about the questions.” That would (might) have been true.

Yeah, and then what? You’d just say you wouldn’t believe him, then or talk about some other republican scandal. You’d never say “how nice of the republicans to do that.”

Instead they made themselves look foolish by blaming Obama for their violation of the agreement.

It’s “might” instead of “would” because McCain’s people have not actually denied that they listened and provided their candidate with information.

So what if he did? Is Barack Obama, the guy you AND the media have been defending for months now, Mr. Tough who’s gonna meet with all the foreign dictators, really going to scream that McCain may have had a slight advantage?

What do you think will happen when he goes to Caracas or Tehran? Do you think they’ll level the playing field for him, lgm?

All your whimpering proves is that Barack Obama isn’t fit to be in any sort of role in the government, and it’s mainly his skin color and age and looks that driving the show.

Who defines what is paranoia though? I feel I’m making a legitimate point, but no one here will address it. Sadly, that reaction only bolsters my belief. Did you not read? Are you incapable of understanding the English language? They BOTH had access to some of the questions beforehand. That has been freaking established in an interview with the REv. following the event.

Instead of hurling insults, perhaps you should take the time to read my comment more carefully. My comment has to do with the McCain response, which isn’t a blanket “no, we did not hear any questions while the Obama portion of the event was taking place.” That’s all McCain had to say. But instead, he parses words, saying “we had no live broadcast” or some other generic phrase that does not rule out anything. My comment has nothing to do with the fact that some questions were made available to the candidates before hand. But nice try at deflecting my point (as did everyone who responded to me….figures). Actually responding to my point would force you to admit McCain is parsing. Whatever.
