The horrific scene at this southwestern Baghdad mosque is what officials say was the work of a Shiite militia known as the Mehdi Army. Residents who live near the mosque say they could hear the victims' screams.

Imagine the coverage and outrage this story would receive if the word "mosque" was replaced with "church" or "synagogue"? Would the Left give it a pass or make up excuses for the perpetrators like they do for Muslims?

The US backed Prime Minister of Iraq, Makiki, also runs a militia. The Mahdi army has nothing on the Badr Corps that Maliki runs.

So, I guess the Iraqis can’t defend themselves from Iranian influence, huh? I guess it does kind of make Bush look good, and we can’t have that!

Also, thanks for the link. I shouldn’t be surprised that the liberal left is basically sharing in the victory of Iraq’s enemy, as the photo shows.

I guess they really aren’t that interested in developing the Third World, they just want someone else to all the work so they can take the credit.

Whenever you refrain from “doing the right thing” when confronted with evil like this all you do is create needless death and suffering. I agree with the earlier posters. We have known about Al Sadr for over four years.

This guy is an Iranian tool. He and his stooges should have received the same treatemnt they have perpetrated. JDAM, Maverick, .50 cal sniper round; whatever works.

al Sadr was INDICTED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF IRAQ FOR MURDER. Then, somehow, that just “fell by the wayside.” Iraqi justice.

My friend, who is in the Army in Baghdad said there is a “do not touch” list of people that comes down from the very top.

al Sadr is on that list. If he was placing a bomb outside the Army’s base, they would not be able to touch him.
