McCain refuses to defuse rumors about pro-choice VP pick

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 20, 2008 11:19 AM

John McCain is on the Laura Ingraham radio show right now. She asked him right off the bat about the pro-choice VP rumors. He refused to dispel the rumors and said it was “one of the hardest decisions” in his life.

Geez. Why so hard to commit to picking someone who shares his pro-life views?

Ingraham asked whether there were some criteria (i.e., supporting life) that were non-negotiable. He repeated that he didn’t want to talk about the process. She said “she spoke for a lot of people” who urged him not to abandon life. Indeed. But I’m not sure he’s listening.

Repeated his talking point: “I have a pro-life record and our administration will have pro-life policies.”

And then they moved on…to China, Clarence Thomas, joking about kite-surfing, ANWR (no change in his drilling opposition).

And no immigration questions. Wonder if that was a condition of the interview.

“Not Europe but he’ll gladly sell us out to Mexico”

Well then, what to do? Roll over and spread em for Obama who will enact a true open borders agenda or elect someone who will listen to the fuss you make. But the only fuss you are going to make is here… right?

The other side takes to the streets by the hundreds of thousands but any attempt to organize an opposition to them meets with indifference. If these supposed conservatives don’t learn to get off their rear ends we are going to be neck deep in Mexicans and it wont be any ones fault but our own.

“and before you shout out the “but he promised fence/border enforcement first” bunch of bs why don’t do you your homework on how much he has stumped for enforcement here in his home state of Arizona.

And before you toss that straw man out why don’t you tell me whose responsibility it is to enforce the territorial sovereignty of the USA? The federal governments or the states? The fact is HE HAS promised enforcement first which is equals time to push back.. Not that that is something that generates a whole lot of internist here…

“I have never seen McCain even once praise Sheriff Joe”

So there is a good reason to help elect Obama. No love for “Sheriff Joe”. Maybe he isn’t dazzled by pink underwear stunts. Or getting stabbed in the back by someone who was working for Romney in his state.

“and all his actions thus far says he will sell this country to Mexico faster than Bush is already trying to.”

Well I guess it is all over since the alternative viable candidate has an even more open borders stance. Tell you what, it probably IS all over because the people who are opposed to amnesty only seem to want to get off their rear ends long enough to shoot themselves in the foot.
I have posted the link to an effective an anti amnesty pro enforcement PAC a dozen times here, not once have I heard “gee, this is something I could get on board with” or, “that’s not a good idea, why don’t we try this” or anything other then waaah waah waah, McShamnasty(tm) waah waah waah.
With the general laziness, indifference, short sightedness shown here by the people who supposedly want to fight this hardest you are going to be neck deep in Mexicans because the people who want that simply out worked you.

McCain is for victory in the war against the islamist pigs who want to kill you.

but he also accuses the US of ‘torture’ and wants to close gitmo.

So better to turn over Iraq and Afghanistan to the islamists that want to kill you because you are a kuffar.

John McCain was right about the boots on the ground, he was right about listening to Shinseki, he was right about the up-armored humvee’s he was right about the body armor, he was right about the ammunition, he was right about Rumsfeld, he was right about calling for counterinsurgency tactics long before anyone was willing to recognize the problem as an insurgency for political reasons, he was right about David Petraeus, Ryan Crocker, David Kilcullen, Michael Mullen when everyone else was wrong. He was one of the first to call for a surge and while it was working the democratic “leadership” that YOU WANT TO ENNABLE was calling it a “failure” and our soldiers “terrorists” who were “loosing their heads” and killing women and children.

You are out to support genuine and I do not use the word lightly “traitors” like John Murtha and Harry Reid who buy their words and actions got Americans killed.

Read the “Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007” that Obama proposed and tell me what kind of mess we would be in if this IDIOT had been able to have his way. We would have lost the war on islamist terrorism . We would have LOST if obama were in charge and we just might WIN because of the actions of John McCain.

I was here in NY on 9/11. I saw what they did. I walked through the debris and saw the shoes with feet still in them. Selling out to the terrorists by electing appeasers, traitors and idiots because you are wetting your panties over whatever puts you in the same book with those you wish to enable in my view.

would most likely nominate judges like souter, who would support his mccain-feingold bill.

You see, this has been shown to you to be false, Yet you sill repeat it as if you were following someones talking points:

My nominees will understand that there are clear limits to the scope of judicial power, and clear limits to the scope of federal power,” McCain said Tuesday in a speech at Wake Forest University.

McCain, the eventual GOP nominee, promised to appoint judges in the mold of Roberts and Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, saything they would interpret the law strictly to curb the scope of their rulings. While McCain didn’t mention abortion, the far right understands that such nominees would be likely to limit or perhaps overturn the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

Obama, on the other hand, voted against Roberts and Alito. So did Obama’s rival, Hillary Rodham Clinton, but McCain focused on Obama. “

McCain: Roberts, Alito are model judges

WASHINGTON — Supreme Court justices John Roberts and Samuel Alito are the models for the type of judges Republican John McCain said Tuesday he would appoint to the federal bench if elected president.

Roberts, the chief justice, and Alito were President Bush’s two appointees to the high court and represent “the proper role of the judiciary” that McCain said will be a major issue this fall.

true, but john f’ing kerry is a ‘war hero’ too…..

No he wasn’t and he isn’t running.

uh yeah sure with the mccain/lieberman gun show bill. which would basically shut down gun shows. Nice”

No it didn’t shut gun shows down and my rights as a gun owner are not infringed by someone else getting a background check. Indeed, if it were instantaneous like the bill called for my rights would be increased. I could buy a handgun during lunch. Obama has voted for the DC and Chicago gun bans.

“really? are you sure about that???”

    Yes.

    “link”

From the online equivalent of a poorly mimeographed Bob Barr tract. Look, Bob Barr isn’t going anywhere. If conservatives would take the time to learn that this guy is running on a platform that is pro Abortion. Pro isolationism, anti military and pro-legalizing drugs from pot to heroin Bob Barr would get even less attention here which is more then he deserves.

“in contrasting your career to the business career of Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney, you said, “I led the largest squadron in the United States Navy. And I did it out of patriotism, not for profit.””

Since you haven’t been in the Navy I would guess that you think the 2 aren’t roughly equivalent. I have been in both the USN and the business world and there is a lot that is true about what he said.

    There, problem solved!!!!!

Republicans are going to go down THAT road again? Be forewarned, by rallying the BASE, they lose the Independents, and with the exponential rise is Democratic voters, if you alienate the swing voters, YOU LOSE.
Abortion and Homosexuality are circular arguments that will never have resolution. Think of it, if these two activities were “controlled by the government”, then what? There will still be abortions and Homosexuality. Do you want to construct prisons for all the women who get illegal abortions? Prisons for Gay couples that participate in a Marriage ceremony?
    GET REAL PEOPLE!!!
