“A Mile High and an Inch Deep”

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 21, 2008 10:31 AM

That’s the new tagline for the Democrat convention, courtesy of the RNC.

In other DNC circus news, Denver is removing the razor wire from Gitmo on the Platte, disappointing moonbats everywhere who were looking forward to their brush with torture.

Jail officials are doing the inmate shuffle.

Democrats are trying to block regular folks from buying the Invesco speech tickets that were supposedly free to the public…but at the same time, Dem party officials are asking top donors to buy those tickets! Do as they say…

And here is your handy-dandy Recreate ‘68 master schedule.

Carly Fiorina, Chairperson of Victory and former fired CEO from HP:

I think first of all the H-1B Visa program is very important to the technology industry. The American people get concerned and understandably emotional about it when they perhaps don’t understand the differences between the H-1B Visa program and illegal immigration. So we have to make these differences clear because as McCain said, illegal immigration is a hugely emotional issue and it’s a very difficult issue in a state like California. So we have to be very open and specific about why the H-1B Visa program bears no resemblance to illegal immigration. We also then have to recognize that American workers all over this country are increasingly concerned about their ability to compete against foreign workers, whether those foreign workers are outside our country or whether they’re coming into our country. And I think that’s why McCain is so smart and so right to focus a lot of our platform on worker retraining. For example, to say “you know what we cannot leave workers behind in this country. We can’t have workers in their most productive years get laid off from a job that’s never coming back and not give them an opportunity to build new skills. And so I think If we can lay out for the American people a robust worker retraining program that really does give people an opportunity to compete for the new innovative jobs then they will have a different context in which to think about the H-1B visa program. If we don’t do that, I’m afraid people will say, “Well here’s another example of foreigners taking a job away from me.” But it’s clear to me that the H-1B Visa program is important and we have to continue to expanding it if we want our information technology industry to be the most competitive in the world.

I disagree. High in this context refers to altitude and therefore has a different meaning. So in this case, “A mile high and an inch deep” would be the equivalent of the altitude and depth of a mountain lake.

Hi B-Cat, An-artist, Jdubya and Common-Sense!! Great to meet my fellow Denverites! I am stuck, stuck I tell you! I can’t get out of Denver because I am a working stiff who stupidly used up my vacation time (what was I thinking???)so I must go to work so I can provide for all those less fortunate than myself liberals. And, to add salt to my wound, Cindy Sheehan, (the Pepto-Bismal mascot) has the nerve to show up–what next? Yes, we’re in for a very bumpy ride. New rumor is that the house Ophra is renting in Cherry Hills village will require some street closures so her “entourage” can make the house ($10M House) ready. Same with the Speilbergs. Ooooh, I’m gonna gag in my mouth here in a minute. Okay, I’m back. Say, J-Dubya, sure wish I could join you with my lawn chair on top of that roof!

Guess I’ll hit downtown during the day tomorow so I dont have to go there any time next week.

It’s Mile High Stadium tomorrow night for Pre-Season Broncos vs Green Bay sans the old dude – what was his name? (I refuse to recognize Invesco and divested myself of any accounts I had with them when they put their name on the new stadium)

I was too young in 68, but I bet the riot cops bashing in the heads of the pot-smoking hippie fools was just as hilarious then as it would be

Was it so wrong to root for the National Guard at Kent State?

As much violence and idiocy as there is going to be, we have to face the fact that likely none of it will ever make it outside of the local news in Denver. We can blog it all we want, but the majority of Americans get their news from TV, and the MSM is going to sanitize everything that happens there in an effort to make Obama look like the god they believe he is. Only if some major terrorist level attack takes place will the media be unable to censor the truth out. Without anything like that, the rest of the country will see the DNC as a peaceful happy-place meeting.

I heard Mayor Hickenboober ask Denver’s finest to not uphold weed arrests as long as the Dems are in town…just so they feel more comfortable and spend $$ while in town I guess. What morals!

They better keep the fast foods open late as well. And stack up on munchies at 7-11.

    Denverites padlock your Refrigerators!

I’m a Dish Network subscriber and I’ve noticed that the Dish has created a temporary channel on 211 just for the Dimocrat Convention. I’ll be curious to see if it provides “unfiltered” coverage.

don’t you always wonder how these “lost in the 60’s” are able to show up at any event ready for a riot and a protest? who pays for them, because it is obvious they have never held a job? i wonder if putin’s politburo has a slush fund to bus these morons from event to event. maybe it’s the soros free america fund paid for by dnc backed taxpayer 527 corporations.
