Hey, who wants anti-Rove mobile phone service?

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 21, 2008 04:21 PM

This is not a joke. Just arrived in my e-mailbox via Democrats.com. Seriously:

Dear Democrats.com Member,

When you pay your mobile phone bill each month, you probably don’t give a lot of thought to where your money goes. But given what’s going on in Washington these days, maybe you should.

Congress has finally started the process of holding Karl Rove — a.k.a. “Bush’s Brain” — accountable for his blatant (and possibly illegal) politicization of the Justice Department. All we can say to that is, it’s about time. (1)

But you probably weren’t aware that your mobile phone company may be among those that helped fund Rove’s rise to power, or advance his dream of a “permanent Republican majority.” Are you comfortable supporting that kind of company?

Consider the facts on record:

* AT&T’s® Political Action Committee contributed the maximum amount allowable by law to the Bush/Cheney campaign — twice. (2) In 2000, these funds helped pay Karl Rove’s expenses.(3)
* So far in this 2008 election cycle, contributions from the joint Political Action Committee of Verizon Wireless® and Verizon Communications Inc.® lean decidedly Republican (4), including five-figure donations to the National Republican Congressional Committee and National Republican Senatorial Committee.
* AT&T’s current CEO, Randall Stephenson, has donated tens of thousands to conservative politicians and PACs. (5) AT&T’s former CEO, Ed Whitacre, was a Bush-Cheney “Ranger” in 2004, raising more than $200,000 to give us four more years of Bush. (6)

Here at CREDO, we have a profoundly different set of values than Karl Rove and the companies that have shown support for his dream of a permanent conservative majority in Congress:

* We’ve been calling for Karl Rove to be fired and prosecuted ever since 2005, when his role in ‘outing’ covert agent Valerie Plame came to light.
* Instead of right-wing politicians, CREDO has given $60 million to progressive nonprofits like Planned Parenthood, Earthjustice, the ACLU and Iraq Vets Against the War.
* Rather than suppress voter turnout — Karl Rove’s signature trademark for stealing elections(7) — CREDO’s voter registration programs have helped 1.1 million people register to vote since July 2007.

If you want to see progressive change for America, it’s probably time to stop supporting a company that supported Karl Rove, and make the switch to CREDO Mobile. With CREDO you’ll get the same quality coverage, phones and accessories that you enjoy from any major provider — plus fantastic customer service from our team of dedicated and knowledgeable representatives.

Best of all, if you switch now, we’ll pay your early termination fee from those other guys (up to $200). Click here to visit credomobile.com and learn more, or call 866.513.8670 to talk to someone right now about making the switch. Be sure to mention code 500177 so they’ll know I sent you. But please don’t delay — this offer ends September 15, 2008.

Thank you, as always, for your support.

Sincerely,

Michael Kieschnick
Co-founder and President
CREDO Mobile

* All with a two-year CREDO Mobile service agreement. Offer subject to credit qualification. Early Termination Fee: We’ll credit your CREDO Mobile account (up to $200) 30 days after we receive a copy of your prior carrier’s termination fee charges; details to follow by mail. Offer only available to new CREDO Mobile customers.

Just one short point. A classic example of why libs don’t understand economic issues. Americans buy products based on need and value proposition. I don’t see the successful companies stooping to this nonsense. They don’t need to. And the last thing I want is a political rant from people I hire to provide me with service. If I am a republican donor, does that mean I will get less support on service calls? Different pricing? This is fascism at its lib best.

You know, in this day and age with all the Playstations, Xbox 360’s, nintendo Wii’s and DS’, Blue-Rays, DVD’s, and various other forms of entertainment and gadgets to stimulate and entertain the mind and person, you would think that these idiots would be able to find something else, if not better, to do with their time.

Are there really people out there that are just this bored or who just have that much time on their hands to actually track down and keep tabs on such things?

I mean, i know that they all don’t have jobs which accounts for the fact that they are all able to go out and stage these idiotic protest rallies and other such nonsense while the rest of us are busy trying to make enough oney to cover their welfare checks, but come on…

If these idiots would take the time and energy that they take in coming up with all this ridiculous junk, and turn it towards something actually useful to the rest of the country, if not the world, what an incredible planet it could be.

But I guess we all have our priorities. Mine is to spend my free time being with and having fun with my children, and the rest of the time working hard at keeping food on the table and a roof over our heads. Theirs, I guess, is to mindlessly come up with all this conspiratorial crap and new “Boycott Lists” of companies that most people have either never heard of, don’t use, or will have no impact on what-so-ever.

Do they really think that AT&T gives a flying **** about what they have to say or whether or not some pot-head is going to use their phones?

    I’m thinking…nope.

Let’s see, they want to arrest Karl Rove for Bush exercising Presidential Privilege but keep the FBI from executing a valid warrant on Jefferson’s office and it’s ok for Pelosi to invest lots of money in Easy Pickens’ wind farm while she brings up tax breaks for him but Stevens can’t get the oil companies to mow his lawn…I’m confused…which party was going to be the new shining beacon of ethics? Oh, by the way, Obama was for killing babies before he was against…what was he against?

If CREDO were anything more than junk, I believe that I would have heard of it before this post. I use AT&T and wonder if I can specify that they use the profits from my service to support Karl Rove, and whomever takes his place when McCain wins in November. I heart AT&T more now that I know what they’ve been doing with their profits. Go AT&T!

Call the CREDO bozos to sign up for their service. Waste their time by asking all sorts of questions. Then say, OK sign me up!!

At that point the person on the other end of the phone will think he’s just landed another customer, and the commission that goes with it. Ka-Ching!!!

that’s when you say: “Hey, are you the CREDO guys who have all those conspiracy theories about Karl Rove?

    You ARE?? Then, never mind.”

    Call them: 1-877-76-CREDO.

    I did.

Switching my cell service to Credo in April 2008 has been the most expensive mistake I could ever have made. Not only is the connection signal terrible the customer service is non-existent then rude and inept when/if you are able to connect

Hey, I just got off the line with a Jesse Macbeth from CREDO Customer Service. When I told him that most of my calls were unclear, he told me to pull the string tighter and yell louder into the soup can.

I don’t think this guy knows what he’s talking about.

Poor Democrats.com. All wonked out, and AT&T PAC gave a whopping $5,000 to Bush, and none to kerry, in 2004.

Is it any wonder that the telecoms give more to Republicans, when the wacko leftard Dem based wants to prosecute and destroy the telecoms?

They will then be the first people to complain about the loss of service.

Not that I’m about to give a dime to these CREDO clowns, but Karl Rove? Come on, people. This guy was the architect of the 2006 Republican disaster, he was the original La Raza kiss-butt, and who can forget his bizarre comment about the need for illegals because he didn’t want his son to “have to change sheets” and do other menial stuff to get through college? [Hey Karl -- set up an education account for the kid.] Remember his whining when a radical open-borders group invaded his neighborhood?

I guess not. Has it come to this? I mean the guy is weird, strange, icky, and not in a fun way. But admittedly he is highly representative of what went wrong to the Republican Party and conservatives during the Bush years — everything, in short. In the end, “Genius” Karl was just one more RINO fool who wanted to be loved. Too bad it didn’t work out.
