No, seriously, though, it is inspirational and, sadly, surreal these days, to see “celebrities,” especially young ones, say they’re thankful for Bush in front of a large audience. I’m surprised no one asked them, “Is that a ‘cool’ thing to say?”

I’ve been watching May and Walsh play, and was already a big fan. Now I’m an even bigger one. USA!!

You may have to tell NBC your local affliate and claim Comcast as your isp. I also had to load silverlite but it’s worth this video. Look for the overhead tracking shot at 7 minutes in, it will give you goosebumps.

Then watch them get their medals; they made me PROUD.

walterc and b-cat, you must not be watching much Olympics coverage. I probably watch 3-5 hours a day. NBC (as is typical and understandable) is on overdrive in covering USA athletes and most of the commentators are actively rooting for USA individuals and teams, and if all you saw was gymnastics and beach volleyball, you would know that NBC’s coverage there is particularly pro-American and almost anti-Chinese in some respects (especially gymnastics). Keep it real. In most sports being covered at the Olympics by NBC, the commentators have a personal relationship and long history with the USA athletes and coaches they are covering. Hell, Karch and Marlow (the guys covering beach volleyball) worked out with May and Walsh during the tournament.

AG, the gal reporter hugged during the interview covers beach volleyball regularly and is friends with May and Walsh.

    *GASP!!!*

Are you DARING to question their Patriotism? their love of their own country? the country that guarantees and grants them the ability to say the things they say and do the things they do without fear of being thrown into a ‘Re-Education Camp” or to be put into a rape room to watch their daughters, sisters and/or wives raped repeatedly by their captors, or to be strung up on meat-hooks and beaten mercilessly for their views? To live without fear of being shot at a wedding ceremony for speaking out against a member of the Government?

How DARE you question such a thing. They are the very picture of what Patriotism is.

(Ewwww…not only did I vomit a bit in my mouth while writing it, but I don;t thinkthere is enough soap in my house to feel clean enough for having written that…sarcasm or not.)

Nah. They’d just dub over another voice of someone saying “Obama” instead of “President”.

I must have missed that, but I don’t see how that is anti-China. If it walks like a duck…

Would like to have responded yesterday, but Fay was in the way.

Your tax dollars at work, splitting atoms in Saudi Arabia. PLUS: France is building reactors for Algeria and Libya.

Yeah, right: “One of these days he and I are going to be rocking on chairs in Texas…”
