Wealthy elitist Snobama attacks wealthy elitist McCain

We’re trapped in the Obama campaign’s Cone of Stupidity and we can’t get out. The latest Obama ad razzes McCain for not remembering how many houses he has. (But at least he knows how many states there are.)

Wealthy elitist Senator mauls wealthy elitist Senator. Snooze.

Yahoo! News is featuring the moronic gotcha story from Politico. And VP hopeful Tim Kaine is dutifully attacking McCain’s mental competence. You want gaffes that call into question mental competence, Gov. Kaine? Hello, Sunshine. Thank you, Sioux City. I see dead people. Iran poses no serious threat. 57 states. 10,000 killed. Etc, etc. etc.

From the McCain camp:

“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses? Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people “cling” to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?

“The reality is that Barack Obama’s plans to raise taxes and opposition to producing more energy here at home as gas prices skyrocket show he’s completely out of touch with the concerns of average Americans.” –McCain spokesman Brian Rogers

It can not be the case that Obama is the best the Democrats can do. If he gets his butt kicked and keeps coming off like he is, Obama will set the chance for a minority to be President back decades. This is quite sad.

According to the policies of “your” president, what John McCain endured was not torture. The interrogation techniques used on him were merely “enhanced.” And much like any number of enemy combatants, these “enhanced” techniques worked on McCain in just the way the Bush administration says. McCain gave them information. Sure, it had little to no validity and was just an effort to get the torture to stop, but, hey, whatever it takes, right? Take the gloves off. WIN WIN WIN.

And since he now wants to be president, John McCain agrees with this assessment. The torture he endured is not torture when administered to our enemies. And, please spare me the arguments that these guys are so bad that the only way to handle them is to sink to their level of barbarism. Torture is wrong. It’s not an if this or if that argument. It’s wrong. Period. If it’s not, then the notion of war crimes no longer exists. And the one man who should know that more than anyone else is McCain. The brutal torture techniques that were used on him are now being used by our military and by contractors and in our name in programs like rendition. It endangers our troops, it cheapens our moral authority and it sullies our good standing in the world. And it’s morally reprehensible.

So, what John McCain has done is sell himself out, sell out the others who have suffered like him, and sell out the men and women serving our country as we speak. I don’t know what exactly he deserves for that, but it’s certainly not a free pass.

He can have as many houses as he damn well pleases. But with what he’s done, in backing the Bush administration’s stance on torture, he can’t ever have my respect.

I think Reagan made a similar “mistake” …and he had a nice comeback to it a day later or so that fixed it up …

The Obama ad campaign does deserve credit for churning out a real slick ad about it practically overnight.

I believe the McCain’s “Obama celebrity” ad campaign is just plain dumb - and it will backfire. It didn’t work for Hillary - it definitely won’t work for McCain.

What will work better for McCain is showing clips of Hillary talking about how Obama doesn’t have the experience…and there are even better ads that could be run … my price is reasonable…

I’m really not looking forward to the onslaught of stupid political ads we’ll all have to bear every day till the election. I will really miss the Olympics.

So, even if you haven’t posted your preference here, and even though you are a firm supporter of guns and those who conceal them…in order for the Dukakis torch to be successfully passed…you will HAVE to be voting for Obama come November. No offense taken. I’d fall into the ‘highly educated’ category myself (unless it only includes PhD’s). My personal experience was that even though many of my professors were noticeably liberal, they kept their politics entirely seperate from the classroom. I know that’s not the case everywhere (hell, there are dozens of stories posted here). . .but then, my degrees (engineering) were of a more technical than ideological nature. . which may have something to do with it.

Rush Limbaugh: I mean, [Kerry]’s been there, but he’s basically a skirt-chaser, folks. He’s a gigolo. . . .Kerry is cheap. Most gigolos are. I mean — I think it — I think it goes with the, with the definition. . . .[W]hat do you consider a fair wage? John Kerry considers a fair wage a wife with 500 million. So, he had to find a company that had one. Well, there aren’t too many of these companies that have little heiresses running around that are single, have 500 million that some guy can marry into. . . .

    Hannity & Colmes (1/24/04):

ANN COULTER: John Kerry can’t really speak to the middle class tax cuts, inasmuch as he is …

    SEAN HANNITY: Yes.

ANN COULTER: … a kept man. He lives off the money made by other men and left to their daughters or wives.

Ann (again, this time on Good Morning America): Well, okay, then I don’t want to hear him talk about a middle class tax cut when he has made his living living off rich women. I mean, it is simply a fact that he has married two heiresses. His specialty in life, I mean, if he has an economic plan, I think the one I’d like to hear about is how to snooker millionairesses into marrying me and living off them. I mean, that is not an, a, a trivial point.

Rush (again): [Kerry] has lived the life of a millionaire living off the inherited wealth of his two wives. As an Ivy League educated millionaire who did not have to work for his fortune, Mr. Kerry never had to worry about the money he earned, the taxes he paid, or the programs he and Ted Kennedy forced the rest of us to pay for…

You can also find Michelle’s “Limericks for John Kerry” which refers to him as a gigolo.

You and I can meet up, and talk about this woman to redneck pansy. I’m dead serious. Let me know where you live, and if I have another reason to go there, we can see how much honor and integrity you have.

I love this woman, what a psycho African elitist. Least she can stand up for herself when someone says racist stuff, somewhat; I mean it’s a blog…

I’d hate to be her boy friend and get in an argument; the house would be decimated.

Keep it up MJ, you give me goose bumps woman.

There’s more to Cindy McCain than meets the eye. She’s a real hands on philanthropist.

Right! And as for McCain’s housing problem, Neo & LGM, at least all McCain had to say to get his multiple homes was “I do.” For Obama to get his million dollar mansion, he had to say “I WILL” to convicted felon Tony Rezko!

Way to be, DBN. Forget that I said the housing issue was a joke, that all this regular guy stuff is nonsense and always will be, no matter who the candidate is. That my issues with McCain are much larger than what is or is not in his bank account. Forget any and all reference to his condoning of torture. Forget the ridiculous double standard applied to another presidential candidate who only had to say “I do.” And just basically come back with “I’m rubber, you’re glue.” Way to be.
