“A good friend of mine just informed me that his good friend in IL has his hands deep into selling political T-shirts and he got word that Evan Bayh from Indiana will be his running mate for VP.”
Update: MSNBC says Bayh and Kaine are out.

Hey…it kept me off the streets. Who knows what kind of tomfoolery I could get into without some activities to keep me busy. And it was closer to 5 1/2 to 6 hours. Then a 45 minute speech. Then about 15 minutes to get out of there. then an hour to get out of the lot and drive 4 miles home.

Now they’re saying Saturday morning as the release time. How much more can they really milk this for? I think waiting till the weekend was a mistake anyway, people don’t watch as closely as they do during the week, hence John Edwards 11 pm Friday night confessional.
Thes question is not whether Obama’s list contains any exciting guys (Biden, Kerry, Bayh, Kaine)…it’s whether the spouses are interesting.
Also, Drudge is saying that Kaine and Bayh ar OUT. Off the veep list that is, not out of the closet…

Biden’s skeletons have been exposed over the years. He’s experienced, tough and witty.
As far as his most recent “gaffes” regarding Obama(clean/articulate) or indians at 7/11, well I just don’t see the right running the “Biden is a racist” angle. I’d love to have Joe Biden fighting at my side. I’ve spoken on Bayh. I just think Kaine would be a trainwreck because of his lack of experience. I like Kaine, but he shares Obama’s main weakness. I guess we’ll wait and see…

I’ve been thinking that about Romney. Would he want to be the VP in a pro-amnesty administration when he campaigned on a non-amnesty platform? And wouldn’t that hamper how he’d campaign in the future?

Well, I must admit, the Obama folks are pretty good marketeers. How does one build media hype? Make a big announcement about a forthcoming announcement, then delay the subsequent announcement with another announcement in order to stir up even more media coverage. And like the great sycophants they are, the media laps this up vigorously with a smile.
I’d much rather the media say, “Well, we were going to bring you the name of Obama’s running-mate, but they’ve decided to delay until tomorrow morning. So I guess we’ll let you know then. In other news…”

Over at CNN there is a live feed to Biden’s home. It shows a bunch of white guys in khaki shorts wandering around in the dark. The comments were that activity had increased at the Biden’s and his daughter and family were believed to be in the house. Also a police car had driven up. Perhaps Joe is drinking and fell by the pool.
Also, someone has linked to a charter jet from Chicago to Delaware. Could be fakery when the real person is not on the horizon.
I am still hoping for Biden or John Kerry VP (my dream ticket would be Obama/Kerry as it would be a lot of fun). Joe Biden’s mouth usually has a designer shoe in it, so he would be an asset addition to the ticket.
I’m sorry but I think that is an over statement. I was not in favor of McCain’s attempt to deal with border issues and believe he has learned from that fiasco at the same time I think it is unfair to label McCain as “pro amnesty”. That’s a bit too far as well.
There is a real world issue with workers who are in this country illegally. I live in Arizona and see it first hand. It is very much the case that we need to figure out a way to get this immigration thing, very much out of control now, back under control. “Deport them all asap” is not going to work on a practical level.
We need to truly and actually and really shut the border down. We need to get an honest idea of who is actually in the country illegally and then we need to take the steps necessary to deal with those folks. We also need to makde the immigration process fair and balanced. I’ve had experience with it when I helped some folks who were here legally from Sudan. And I can tell you the immigration system is a mess. From what I saw and something that was most alarming to me is that it appeared to be slanted toward favoring Moslems. Many Moslems working in the 3rd party programs that our government uses to help with the immigrations process and it was clear Islamic folks were getting precedence.
It is of highest national security priority to get this immigration thing fixed. Simply answers won’t fix it. Emotional overstatements from both sides won’t fix it, like accusing those of us who want it fixed of being racist and bigots.
Stating McCain is “pro-amnesty” is an over statement and throwing labels like that around will not help enable an effective dialog.
So my guess is Romney is probably not thinking the same thing as the current possible DNC VP choices. The DNC folks have to be thinking “Am I going to be linked to this loser?” That’s quite different than being linked to someone with whom you may not agree 100 percent with policies.

Here’s another thing: on NRO there was a bit explaining that 21% of former Hillary supporters still say they’re defecting to McCain. That’s only down from 37%.
If Obama chooses Hillary, that means McCain must unequivically choose Romney. Hill might not be as experienced as Pawlenty or any of the other guys, but for Democrats she’s the closest to Plato (or Rasputin) that they’ve got. So we need Romney, who is very good at deconstructing liberal arguments.
She looked better when she had the hair-do that made her look like the female cubicle dweller from the cartoon, Dilbert.

You’re right and I apologize. I should have found a better way to word it, especially since I agree with him that there’s no way you can deport everyone who’s here illegally. Get rid of the felons and criminals first. Build the damn fence once and for all. Like you said, get a handle on who’s here. But deporting all of them is a pipe dream.

I mean they will gladly leak Homeland Security secrets, spy secrets, even lie a bit about spy secrets, Electronic Intelligence secrets, CIA, FBI, they will tell the NY Slimes darn near anything, if it hurts America….

Does it really matter who Obama picks as a VP? All the vet tees on the short list are lightweight unknowns.
My theory, and I’m not smart enough to explain my brilliance, is this election is about McCain’s VP. 4 years of McCain then 8 years of McCain’s VP.
