Inside the Democrat convention hall: Image, image, image
I snapped a few photos this morning while doing Fox and Friends from the Democrat convention floor at Pepsi Center. The centerpiece is this behemoth, Hollyweird-esque podium display with a bank of 8,000 square feet of video screens and three huge, high-def plasma TV screens. It’s all about the image. Just like the Dem presidential candidate:
Security is tight, but somehow I still managed to get in.

The Fox News workspace is across the street at Braun’s Bar & Grill. I’ll be over there next week for a few appearances. Here’s the outside of the building:

One last tidbit:
Every person inside the Pepsi Center has to have a badge with a bar code. You scan it to get in and out.
One of the few instances where the Dems believe in, and practice, tough border enforcement.

Of course. The Democrats don’t really want to be too close the people who are crazy enough to vote for them. I’m sure they’re aware of the abuse so many of their followers are fond of dishing out.
I know that not all Democratic voters are of the same ilk as the pie throwers and unruly free speech opponents; but a lot of them are, and it would really mess up the party to have those kinds of shenanigans going on.
Those aren’t actually flags.. just some stripes and undescript blue-ness.

I think the tight security is because the Clintons will be there. Obama seems to remember her remark about Kennedy.

Carbon credits indeed! This whole thing is such a farce. I normally I’d watch the Olympics to get away from all the convention nonsense. This time I watch pay-per-view movies! I have no interest in any of the three ring circuses offered this year.

Speaking of image: I just got back from Denver last night for a business trip and noticed for the first time TSA’s new blue shirts. I joked with a colleague that that it would be amusing if it was a “blue state”, “red state” thing. Fortunately that wasn’t the case, but it was an amusing thought.

I say, invite the homeless in and use them as volunteers. I mean, that would be community outreach and Obummer and crew are famous for that, right?
