First gaffe of Obama-Biden ’08: “Let me introduce to you the next president…”

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 23, 2008 03:23 PM

Obama gets to the climax of his introduction of Biden and says…

“Let me introduce to you, the next president — vice president — of the United States…”

Snort…

Not ready for prime time.

From the McCain camp:

“Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president. The reality is that nothing has changed since Joe Biden first made his assessment that Barack Obama is not ready to lead. He wasn’t ready then and he isn’t ready now.”

***

Biden jokes about McCain’s “seven kitchen tables.”

Hey, good luck on that 57-state campaign trail, Joe.

Biden: When you look at how Obama handles challenges, “you learn a lot about the strength of his mind.”

Snort.

Biden accuses McCain of “yielding to Swift Boat politics.”

3:38pm Eastern. The Mouth is still going…This may be our last chance…to restore America’s soul!

Biden ends, finally: “God bless America and may he protect our troops.”

With Obama-Biden in office, they’ll need all the blessings they can get.

What are the Las Vegas odds on Hillary and/or Bill coming down with last-minute reasons why they can’t address the convention? Or maybe Hillary telling her folks to go for broke on the vote, just in case a few super delegates have second thoughts? The Clintons could come down with a bad case of diss-a-rhhea after swallowing all the crap the Chicago Dem machine has been shoving down their throats. Remember Clinton’s entrance to the 2000 convention? Long walk down the hall shot from a low angle, camera looking up at the King? Lo, how the mightly are fallen.

NC Blue – thanks for the tip on the video. When I saw it, I forwarded it to everyone in my address book, then deleted it. Scary, chilling, and smacked of something I know, deep down, could spell the end of my country as we know it. Truly turned my blood cold.

Can’t wait for the fireworks in Denver. If Hillary has anything left in her bag of tricks she best be giving it the light of day. Unless, of course, she’s been promised the Supreme Court – or Bill an appointment to the U.N.? Of course, no matter what, if Obambi loses in Nov. the civil disobediance across the country is going to make the LA Watts riots look like a playground exercise.

Actually, with Obama-Biden in office, WE will need all the blessings WE can get… It’s going to be a very long, very cataclysmic 8 years.

If the Hillary voters want to take their toys and go home, the hell with em.
It’s not Obama’s fault that Hill didn’t plan on having to compete after Super Tuesday. It’s not his fault that her campaign disregarded the caucus states. Lastly, she’s in debt because she stubbornly stayed in the race, and loaned herself $ even though the numbers showed that she couldn’t catch up. If her crybaby acolytes really think that McCain is going to be a president in the same mold as Hillary, they’re beyond stupid. If the pro-choice feminists cherish the right to abortion choice, we’ll see how petty and myopic they really are. If they are willing to sabotage an election in hopes of 2012, they are some of the most naive and selfish people I can imagine. A lot can happen in 4 yrs idiots. Remember back when this election was supposed to be all about Clinton v. Rudy. Wow, uh, I guess that didn’t pan out.

Hillary may have helped unite the party, but this general election isn’t just about the PARTY. Moderates and independents(particularly men) are up for grabs, and don’t tend to like or trust Hillary Clinton.
Obama has baggage and inexperience. However he doesn’t have one ounce of the baggage of Hillary and Bill Clinton. Who else was viable, John Edwards? Yeah that would have been the biggest democratic nominee disgrace in modern history.
My ticket is Obama/Biden. I’m happy with it for reasons stated numerous times on other threads. Let the debates begin.

Ha! Shows how much you know. Didn’t you know that “it just wasn’t supposed to happen that way”? That none were to seriously challenge Queen Hillary? That it was “her turn”?

For as much as the right likes to poke Obama as being “The One”, there was only one candidate in the primaries on either side who considered himself herself entitled to the nomination.

So true, Chap. Hopefully, she’ll do the right thing and help get B.O. elected. It’s not like she can’t benefit from his victory.

Sometimes the truth is spoken very untactfully and sometimes spoken untactfully by slightly crazy white Catholic priests.

N.B. I am pretty sure untactfully is not a real word, but you get my drift.

No, she has a vested intrest in seeing him lose. Her only future shot is 2012.

She is now becoming the darling heroine of the democrat party. Another victim who fell just short at the wire.

In fact, if the upcoming week’s gaffe-a-thon Oblahma/Byedumb tour sees poll numbers continue to slip, don’t be surprised to see Hill’s operatives try an end-around at the convention.

She was correct. This guy is unelectable.

Gaffe no but these words will come back to haunt Biden and of course Imus is at the center:) it is an Imus Centric World.

    Washington Post article

On a lighter note, both Biden and McCain were among the most frequent guests on Don Imus’ radio show, often heaping praise on each other. During one show in 2006, Biden was effusive about McCain’s efforts to stop the Bush Administration’s torture policy.

“You know, I mean, thank God for John McCain in saying, whoa, what are you guys talking about?,” Biden told Imus.

But that friendship is likely to be strained further during the
upcoming election, as Biden is tasked by Obama to attack McCain. It is a task he had already begun even before being picked.

No neither Jeremiah Wright or Ludacris apologized…but Don Imus did.
