That’s the danger, isn’t it?

He said he “wasn’t the guy.” Starting his VP candidacy off with a lie.

Biden does bring one thing to the table that Obama lacks. That is the ability to talk off the cuff ad nauseum. This combined with a great deal more experience may in fact make that ticket stronger. That being said Biden also has a tendency toward foot in mouth disease that could flare at any moment.
In an odd way this balances the democratic ticket. Obama could have done worse.
Let us hope that McCain does well with his pick.
Still I can’t get past the feeling that the whole country has been ripped off in this election. Some days there seems to be a real choice. Other days it is like picking between the gas chamber and the electric chair.

How did we get to the point that all of the candidates/running-mates (so far) are from the Congress with the lowest approval rating in history? So, they’re failing miserably in the Senate and choose to reward them with the Presidency? I was saddened to see Biden drop out of the Democratic primary earlier since he is always so… entertaining. Obama definitely can’t win now (unless McCain picks Pelosi as his VP).
Talk about a gift for conservatives from God! I’m beginning to think the Obamessiah listens to Rush Limbaugh all the time.
Obama couldn’t have picked a better guy to display his total lack of sound judgment. At this rate I doubt he will survive the floor vote next week in Denver to be allowed to lose in a landslide in November. For all our friends that live there stay safe and watch out for the old smelly hippies, flying fecal matter with urine bags, and stupid human tricks.
Hopefully the “grumpy old man” won’t make a similar bonehead selection. As I have read from others I really think this has turned into a contest of who can do the worst in throwing this contest. Stock-up on popcorn folks we may be “Screwed in 08,” but it is going to be an interesting ride!

A lot of people must have said “no” to Obama for him to pick Biden and he brings nothing in terms of the electoral college. They don’t want to be on a losing ticket. I wonder if Democrats are ready to pick Hillary at the Convention.

That whole “text” thing was such a rip-off! He gathers all these e-mail addresses which he will use to spam for money, and promises they will be the “first to know”. He hypes his VP pick and plays games with us for weeks. Then, he texts everyone at 3:00 a.m., hours after the news was already out and all his text buddies were sleeping. They should all be really ticked off! But there will be spin, and they will forgive their “savior”. I also am noticing all the democrat spinmeisters trying their best to make this look like a fantastic choice. They just can’t quite pull it off.

I think he should pick Sarah Palin. It would bring oil drilling to the front of all the issues. She is the governor of the largest state in the nation. She is solidly pro-life. Many Clinton voters would continue to switch over to the Republican ticket.
ALso, the Weekly Standard is stating that Barack Hussein Obama has all but given up on certain Red States he was hoping to win, such as Florida and Virginia. He is behind in Ohio. So I think Pawlenty would also be a good choice because that would basically give Minnesota and Wisconsin to McCain, guaranteeing that the Obamunist would lose.

Not often my prayers are answered, but the choice of Biden is so bad — what was he thinking? — that it can only mean one thing: McCain will now feel compelled to find an even worse choice, one that will utterly appall the base. Really, that is how this election has been going. Obama has been doing everything he can to help McCain, and McCain in gratitude has been fighting his gifts and the Republican base every step of the way. Profanity is too weak. Sigh.

I’m in agreement with Sarah Pallin. She has executive experience, is as conservative as Dick Cheney, and can bring the drilling issue new life. She won’t get the radical feminists but who needs them anyway?

Mitt is a good choice. He is solid on economics, a great public speaker, and did I mention Handsome? That is not important, but it doesn’t hurt. He hasn’t had any major gaffes that I can recall…but I’m sure the dems could find something! I wanted Mitt as the presidential nominee. McCain was my dead last choice. If we have to be “stuck” with McCain, at least we can approve of his VP!
I think Obama and Biden make a great team and I’m looking forward to them kicking a$$ and taking names come November.

Biden has been the perenial bridesmaid at the Presidential altar. He’s been running for President for over 20 years, and has never mustered more than nominal support from Democrats let alone the American electorate.

Regarding Biden’s comments on Dunkin Donuts and Seven Eleven – I wonder if he plagarized Apu from the Simpsons – “Take a penny, leave a penny” in his comments.
I thought the whole text message and “be the first to know” thing was a joke to begin with. Even if he could have kept his pick a secret (highly unlikely) the text message would have let a person know, at the most, five seconds quicker than everyone else.
