CS – thank you for your kind words. I have sat on abortion protest lines when I was so sick I could hardly stand up with wonderful Christian friends. And some of those friends also allowed me to join in protesting gay pride parades as well. (I saw NAMBLA there marching along like they thought they were “normal”.) I know that there is a larger Jewish population in LA (Aww, I do miss kosher restaurants – Nagilas and Pico Deli), but the thought of living my twilight years in the Land of the Socialist Governator, BS Boxer and Nazi Nancy, well, it’s just too much for my lil ole heart to bear. Plus I am closer to some of my family (my baby is still being brainwashed by Cal State, but I am sure he will come to his senses when he graduates this year – especially as he starts paying state taxes – lol.)
I think it is because there is a backlash against the rigidity of traditional/Orthodox rabbis and also because Judaism is being so watered down by liberal rabbis that the teachings of some synagogues are indistinguishable from the Democratic Platform. In fact, I was excoriated by “elderly folks” at one temple for saying that I was supportive of the war in Iraq and thought W would one day be proven to be a great president.
It appears to me that many people are so into “individuality” and caught up in their own “ideas” that they have not taken time to research the validity of their beliefs and have no moral compass on which to base their life’s decisions.
It is very sad to me that there are Jews for whom Hebrew is a foriegn language, Israel is a place far away with no importance and who couldn’t name even 10 of the 613 commandments. And Hebrew school is a place to get rid of the kids for 3 hours so they can go home and sleep.

And speaking of art what the hell happened to the black culture such as but not limited to music? Some of the most uplifting of art in our history, obliterated, by what, this new downer stuff? Dammit, I’m sick of it, yes I’m darn mad and I’m not going to take it anymore! How bout you, Americans?
I can see the commercial now…
Starting with dark screen, phone ringing. Words on screen says, “It’s 3am”
First scene: WH bedroom, light turns on, Obama fumbles for the phone while MO is asking loudly, “Who the hell is that?” Don’t they know 3am calls don’t help my kids sleep?”
Obama picks up the phone, voice on the other end says, “Sir this is General BigDaddy in the Situation Room. Iran is fueling missiles pointed at Israel.”
Obama: “Uuh, Ummm, hang on”.
General on phone: “Sir, what are our orders.”
Obama: “What’s the rush? I said hang on!”
Obama fumbling with remote, turns on teleprompter, selects guide, and chooses Middle East.
Lines scrolling, Obama, in a voice that is obvious that something is being read, “Uum, uh, Call…State…the State Department…to arrange talks…talks with Damascus….”.
Teleprompter screen goes dark, scary music starts.
Obama at a loss for “words”, suddenly bitter at the CEO’s of teleprompter companies because he wants to cling to his so badly.
Obama: Uuh, hey ah…, ummm, tell State I’ll call in the morning.”
Hangs up phone, turns to MO, tells her it’s nothing, but he’ll check the kids anyway.
It guaranteed sloppy wet kisses from the drive-bys all weekend with little counter response.
LGM, can you point to each of the posts where Bush or someone in his administration or Republican or in the military have been depicted as Nazi’s by the left over the last 8 years and you have denounced it in the comments?
I have been offended numerous times over that period by that exact depiction and others, yet I cannot point to a single instance where ANYONE on the left denounced the comments.

Anything Biden said pre-acceptance speech is “in the past” and “old news”. All that matters now is what he says and does as the other half of hopenchange.

If it would not be too much trouble, could someone direct me to the thread that contains this mess between the owner of the glass navel and Blind_Mule? I seem to have missed it and am competely in the dark as a result.
I enjoyed reading BM’s posts, and if he is indeed gone as a result of a troll, well I am beside myself. There has been a bit of an exodus of some of my favorite posters lately, and I need to see what happened so as to guarantee that I not have the same happen to me.
People should not feed the troll.
An apology that says,
“I’m sorry if some were offended by my remarks,”
is not an apology at all in my opinion. An apology is,
“I’m sorry for being so wrong and accusing heroes of crimes they did not commit.”

Biden spewed nothing but hate and contempt towards every military person that testified before his committee, and for what? Nothing but to score political points for his failed presidential bid, by creating an air of failure around the Surge before it even got off the ground!
And believe me, Rumsfeld resigned because he lost the President’s support – not because of perpetually peeved Biden’s tirade before a Democrat led lynch-mob committee. Likewise, the fact that those soldiers were justly acquitted occurred in spite of Biden’s best efforts to black list them, not because of what you’re spinning as his demand for accountability and clarity.
I can only repeat this often, until we figure it out: for liberals Facts are symbols that are open to interpretation, namely THEIR interpretation and ONLY their interpretation and all other “interpretations” are “taking it out of context.”
Biden’s son is serving in the capacity the Army thinks is best. I salute him for his service. Do not disparage his service because he has liberal leanings or is not a front line troop. With out all jobs being performed expertly the military would fall apart. It is a sign of progress that we need more lawyers and less snipers in Iraq.

As for them being aquitted after receiving a fair trial, they were EXONERATED BEFORE going to trial, and at last look, only one member was still being INVESTIGATED

Sorry guys for being so loud…but politicians, lawyers & soldiers in war are very touchy subjects for me…
here in the states the average person(non-soldier)is considered innocent until proven guilty…but once you become apart of the military your considered guilty until your proven innocent(in the military you fall under a different set of laws & justice…the “Uniform Code of Military Justice”)…you can forget about that one phone call, you can forget about a lawyer until your assigned one…and don’t even ask to find out what your accused of…you can be held incommunicado until they get around to you, in another words Forget-About-It !…and if your on a ship you fall under Admiralty Law (let me not get into this one…cause it will blow your mind !).
Now you put this soldier in a war zone and tell them that not only do they have to follow the laws of our country but also the Military Laws(UCMJ/Admiralty Law)& they may also be accountable to the laws of the country they are in…
Now throw in the Geneva Convention(Laws of conduct in war), And finally lets throw in The World Court who may put you on trial for War Crimes if you don’t follow all-the-above !!!

satcong, I think it is a sign of progress on the war front that we need less snipers and more lawyers. The JA move in generally after the wars have been won in order to train the host country in proceduresof law. You do not lead with the bureaucrats rather they follow up on a victory to create a society that knows and abides by local and international law.

So I guess Bill Clinton didn’t have enough lawyers on hand when the CIA had ground eyes on Osama Bin Laden in the late 1990’s…and even when that ground team who were close enough to see Bin Laden & his crew with their own eyes… pleaded & waited, and pleaded & waited “We Have Him In Our Sights” “We Can Get Him” that still wasn’t enough justification for the Lawyers-Turned-Politicians !
Why do we send in such brave Special Forces to places like this & ask them to risk their lives doing what we trained them to do, and don’t let them do their job ???
