Bill Clinton twists the knife…

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 26, 2008 03:23 PM

…in Barack’s back.

Yowch. Chicago thug mafia, meet Arkansas thug mafia. Long live Democrat party unity! The soap opera continues:

Bill Clinton appeared to undermine Sen. Barack Obama again Tuesday.

The former president, speaking in Denver, posed a hypothetical question in which he seemed to suggest that that the Democratic Party was making a mistake in choosing Obama as its presidential nominee.

He said: “Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?”

Then, perhaps mindful of how his off-the-cuff remarks might be taken, Clinton added after a pause: “This has nothing to do with what’s going on now.”

all i am seeing on the news is about the dissenters to Obamitler, stating that he has to unite the party not Hillary. It isn’t her job, she didn’t win the nomination. Wow, this is getting delicious. They are right, you know, for Obama to tell Hillary to get her people to line up after him when it is his job. Just goes to the show that he still cannot close the ‘deal’. In sales, you recognize those that can bait for the sale, but you gotta have the one there to close the deal. Obamitler is jut the baiter he cannot close the deal.

Look if he can’t unite his own party, how is it he can unite the country? Is this how he reaches across the eisle in bi-partisanship? He’ll tell the Dem leadership in house and senate to make them line up after him, cause we can see that he sure can’t do it..

Bill’s just setting the stage for Hillary-2012, by ensuring Obama-Biden 08 goes down in flames as incompetent and party splitters.

This allows Hill and Bill to collect a ton of scalps in 2009-2010, and flush the Obama acolytes out of the Dem Party or firmly cement them to the Clinton machine. This means Hillary will have the victim card in the 2012 primaries, and no real opposition.

All it takes is for the Clintons to luke-warm “support” Obama publicly, and have their “people” cripple him privately.

The big blow will come when Hillary gets her people to turn off the money spigots. Obama has opted out of public funding, meaning if Hillary dries up his cash, he will run out. So Hillary gets working immediately (via Bill and others) on the high rollers to remind them there will be hell to pay if Obama loses, and that she will hold it against people who supported him over her, when she runs in 2012. Combine that with Fear Uncertainty and Doubt they can spread, and all of a sudden Obama is hurting.

The Clintons then say ff someone wants to be on the “inside” in 2012, they need to only step back now in 2008. Just do nothing. That and indirectly telling her contributors to opt out of donating to Obama in the general.

This puts her in the Demparty as the victim of Obama idiocy, victim of the MSM, victim of male prejudice, and victim of the “system”. And she will be running against what will probably be a very weak McCain, who will be the oldest man to ever stand for election, after having weahtered what is likely to be a recession more war, and a new cold war against Russia, immigration mess, and more terrorism and crap in Pakistan.

All in all, its the smartest and best route Hillary has to the White House - the victim card, all the funding, and the party united behind her against a failing incumbent in 2012 assuming she can slip the shiv into Obama now.

So no surprise Bill is saying what he is saying. Its the start of the FUD campaign against Obama from the inside, soon to be accompanies by the covert/tacit funding supply clampdown.

Clinton will offer luke warm support for Obama while focusing on his own stint as POTUS and Hillary’s accomplishments. No matter how much he wants Obama to lose he cannot be obvious about it.
He and Hillary need Obama’s supporters to get into the White House in 4 years.

Bill Clinton is mad for another term in the White House. I hardly believe his off-the-cuff is anything of the sort. He has every intention of paving the sidewalk with nObama for Hillary to walk over if he can.

I think that could be a very smart choice. I really like Michael Steele.

I’ve seen a few comments on this thread about Steele. I live in Maryland, and voted for him in his (unfortunately unsuccessful) bid for Senate. Instead, we got Cardin, who has vowed to continue to eradicate God from public life. I’ve met Cardin in person, and he really gives me the creeps. Wish Steele was in the Senate to get more national exposure. I know he’s a commentator on Fox these days, good choice for Fox.

Anyone notice before President Clinton spoke all the flag waving going on? Even Hillary and Chelsea were waving flags, but in all the shots I saw scanning 3 different networks there was one person in the crowd who I didn’t see have a flag or wave it on TV and that was Michelle Obama.
