Obama’s Ayers problem deepens
The Chicago bully tactics aren’t going to work. While Obama sics his lawyers and Kossack minions on TV stations that dare to air an independent ad about his close relationship with Weather Underground terrorist-turned-academic Bill Ayers, the truth is seeping out. Thanks to the efforts of NRO’s Stanley Kurtz, blogger Steve Diamond, and intense pressure from Internet readers and talk radio listeners, the University of Illinois - Chicago was forced to release a trove of papers that a former official attempted to shield from public view. There are some 140 boxes and 1,000 files to sift through — and MSM outlets have barely scratched the surface. Kurtz is in Chicago to review the documents and will report tonight on his findings for two hours on Chicago station WGN’s Milt Rosenberg Show. (Good background here, too, in an in-depth discussion on the malign influence of Ayers’ educational philosophy and practice.)
Despite only partial review of the papers, some outlets are pooh-poohing the disclosures. The Chicago Tribune writes: “A partial examination of the documents did not reveal anything startling about the link between Obama, the Democratic presidential contender, and Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground, a Vietnam-era anti-war group that claimed responsibility for several bombings.”
And yet:
The UIC records show that Obama and Ayers attended board meetings, retreats and at least one news conference together as the education program got under way. The two continued to attend meetings together during the 1995-2001 operation of the program, records show.
At a Democratic debate this year when the association between Obama and Ayers was raised, Obama said: “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood. . . . He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.” Obama called Ayers’ past radical acts detestable.
But critics note that Obama visited Ayers’ home for a meeting at the start of his first state Senate bid in the mid-’90s.
The UIC records showed that Ayers was instrumental in securing the $50 million education grant to reform Chicago Public Schools, part of a national initiative funded by the late Ambassador Walter Annenberg. . After Chicago was awarded the money, Obama served as president of the Challenge’s board of directors, the fiscal arm that disbursed the grants to schools and raised private matching funds. Ayers participated in a second entity known as the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, the operational arm that worked with the grant recipients.
Fox News’s James Rosen uncovered more of Ayers’ unrepentant, radical face while researching his latest book:
William Ayers, who was a founder of the 1960s and 1970s radical group the Weather Underground, told FOX News correspondent James Rosen in a candid 2004 interview that he still believed he was “on the side of justice” years after the group’s wave of attacks.
In the interview, conducted three years after the September 11 attacks, Ayers argued the U.S. government had carried out “many other acts of terror … even recently, that are comparable,” and claimed he and his bomb-planting comrades were “restrained” in their actions.
Ayers, now a professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago, served with Barack Obama on the board of the charitable Woods Fund of Chicago for three years and helped launch Obama’s political career in Illinois by hosting in his Hyde Park home an informal campaign event for the future state senator in 1995.
Ayers claimed the Weathermen were driven by “hope and love,” not despair, and said he did not think the group’s violent acts, targeting federal officials and local law enforcement officers, were “a big deal.”
…Interviewed in May 2004 in connection with Rosen’s book “The Strong Man: John Mitchell and the Secrets of Watergate,” published recently by Doubleday, Ayers affirmed that 9/11 was “an act of pure terror,” one that had caused him to weep, and that terrorism is “always wrong, always evil.” But Ayers also condemned the Bush administration for using the attacks “to advance a right-wing agenda on every front: every uterus must be examined, every tree chopped down, every oil well dug. I mean, it’s absolute madness.”
“I mean, the only group of people that I know who weren’t weeping for the next several weeks [after 9/11] were the people who were busy typing legislation into their computers,” Ayers continued.
When asked about some Palestinians who had been captured on videotape dancing in the streets after the attacks, Ayers said coverage of those individuals had been “overwrought” in the U.S. media, and added: “[E]verybody in the world knows that Americans are geographically challenged and historically challenged. We don’t have a sense of who we are or where we are. So I think every American that I know was weeping over the next several weeks, and devastated and shocked. Was that an act of pure terror? It absolutely was.
“And there are many other acts of terror carried out by our government, even recently, that, that are comparable.
Ayers is not only a flag-trampling apologist for domestic terror. He’s an inveterate liar. Andy McCarthy refreshes your memory.
Obama can wrap himself in the flag and attempt to gag his critics, but his false portrayal of Ayers as just a guy in the neighborhood is not going to fly. Obama’s friend is America’s enemy.
And America deserves to know.

Normally I don’t believe the polls, but I find myself wishing the latest ones showing Barack HUSSEIN Obama losing ground are true.
I want to believe they are seeing him for what he really is and realize they want no selfserving, arrogant, whinney baby to be their President. Some of his supporters are patriots I’m sure, and it’s those people who are having second thoughts.
As I go about my daily life, shopping and what have you, I look at the people around me and wonder how many of them are actually aware of what this man is, especially the black people, of which most are voting for him because of his skin color alone. I pray every day that he doesn’t win the Oval Office.

Gore was at least a credible candidate in 2000, and had he carried his home state he would have been president. GWB likewise could point to a record of achievement as governor of Texas.
Kerry had too much baggage as an anti-American anti-Vietnam activist to be elected. The other stuff is a side show, a Naval Officer meeting with the enemy in wartime was too much for most of us.
Now it appears the idea was to run a man with no past to attack. Unfortunately, it appears Obama has a past, and it’s nor a pretty one.

I truly do not think Obama will be elected. He will go out in a blaze of not so much glory, but he’ll still have his memories. I can picture him…grandchild on his knee - “I ran for president once, did I ever tell you that.” As his daughter turns to her mom and yells “Mom he’s talking about it again..”

The Chicago Tribune really isn’t trying to do their job:

Perhaps reconsidering their operative phrases: “Democratic presidential contender” and “founder of the Weather Underground” would yield a search methodology. There’s an obvious disparity in title: “contender” asks for psupport, “founder” asks for nothing and may supply to those who ask.
How about looking at the strategic level?
Parse this paragraph:
“The UIC records showed that Ayers was instrumental in securing the $50 million education grant to reform Chicago Public Schools”
Ayres can and did get money; what did Obama do?
“After Chicago was awarded the money, Obama served as president of the Challenge’s board of directors, the fiscal arm that disbursed the grants to schools and raised private matching funds.”
Ahh, O. served as “president” of “the fiscal arm that disbursed” the money. There’s some authority here, but there’s also some potential “rubber stamping”, and with Ayres in close proximity … what do the documents say?
“Ayers participated in a second entity known as the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, the operational arm that worked with the grant recipients.”
Meanwhile, “Ayers participated in a second entity”, “the operational arm that worked with the grant recipients”. Specifically, Ayres or his proxy got the money, and did whatever they did with it.
The currently available records show CAC to be a multi-year failure; was Obama doing anything to prevent this waste of time and money?
From these words alone, there’s reason to doubt Obama’s executive and leadership experience, and therefore abilities. Further, there’s reason to suspect that Ayres used Obama as a figurehead. Was Obama strong enough to stand up to Ayres, were the two simply in agreement always, or was Obama simply told that his would be a figurehead position? Given that this happened in Chicago, complete answers to these questions are important.
I think that a detailed analysis of the UIC documents will reveal (president) Obama the Follower of Ayres. America needs a Leader for President, not a Follower.
But from this initial reading alone, electing Obama is a mistake that America really doesn’t need.
FlinchyOBinghole will rise onto the stage at the convention as the comedic figure he truy is.
The comedy will unfold as millions of Americans who haven’t heard him speak before have their chance.
What do you think they will hear between the lines:

Let me take a couple stabs at why Faux News won’t run that anti-Obama ad:
1) News Corp wants a piece of the Obama campaign advertising budget
.
2) Fear of libel suits
3) “Program practices”, ad might be simply too “hard” for a network which is part of the Mainstream Media
4) News Corp may be hedging their bets in case Obama does get elected; they wouldn’t want their Obama coverage to be used as a poster child for a new “Fairness Doctrine” i.e. if a new Fairness Doctrine occurs they don’t want to take the blame for it.
I call Fox Cable News “Faux” because their lineup is simply aimed at a market segment the Big 3 and CNN apparently don’t care about.
Don’t forget, Fox News got on the cable TV lineups by PAYING cable companies up to $10/subscriber to carry that channel in the “basic” tiers (I believe they now charge 50c a subscriber).
If News Corp believed in what they publish and broadcast they’d be running that “Ayers Weather” ad (assuming it isn’t libelous) even if it meant they wouldn’t get a thin dime of Obama campaign advertising revenue.
Fox News (like any other investor-owned corporate entity) makes its decisions based on what will bring in the maximum revenue at the minimum expense.
Very few Fox News viewers will tune out Fox because they wouldn’t run that ad.
Not running that ad will help Fox and/or other USA News Corp outlets get more campaign ads ($$$$$$) from the Obama campaign.
Never forget who the TRUE customers of the advertiser-supported segments of the Mainstream Media are .. and those customers AREN’T the viewers, listeners and readers!

The WAPO misses the point entirely. What the ad has done is to raise the question: If Flinchy wont talk turkey and/or debate any issues on policy and programs, then what do we really know about this bonehead?
We do know that he rubs elbows with “distinguished professor” Ayers (whatever that means in a college of “education- yes i am cynical because i have been inside these all over the country and they are verminous cesspools of posing marxists and pedophiliacs who are all about “the children”) and will turn to Ayers and his ilk for “input” on matters of the miseducation of our young and the continued decimation of arts, humanities, and social sciences by the noveau elitists that are turning these hallowed halls into roach motels for Marxists and their psychotic delusions of social engineering.

Remember it was the librarians who were so “brave” to stand up against the Patriot Act and refuse to let the FBI know that Hussein Mo Hussein, the nice Saudi young man, was just in and learned how to make ricin and nitroglycerin. Whenever I think of all of those desperate people jumping to their deaths from the Trade Center to escape the flames, I remember the librarians and also those liberals who went to Iraq as “human shields,” democrats like Jim McDermott, and wish they had been at the Trade center, and the innocent victims had been at the library on 9/11. I don’t know of any democrat that isn’t a traitor either to their country, their religion, or their families and mostly to all 3. I was honestly happy to hear Ted Kennedy had a brain tumor and hoped that he would go quickly and painlessly - but go. I will laugh out loud if he is cremated.
