The ancient Roman’s built their cities to accommodate waste and sewage. I don’t think the convention planners with their Barackopolis grandiosity have any provisions in place to handle the torrent of bilge that the Obaminator will spew forth tonight.
Maybe he will get introduced as the Next Vice President of the United States.
All this event does is show just how out of touch this elitist is. Think of all the hungery and poor they could have helped if they had used the money they spent on this event to help the people they claim to be wanting to help.
Yah…like Obama’s Half Brother!
Think he’ll have water this time, Michelle?
I have little intention of watching his speech. I’m tired of hearing how awful and mean Republicans are already this week.
It would be a hoot if they were wearing togas.
Coors Light. There’s a new beerwolf in town.
Alert!!
Cover your ears when whoever it is sings the National Anthem…. you will thank me later.
I will get all the really important infomation later, tomorrow, on MM and HA. I am out of antacids and will watch a soothing program that might get the brain cells active.
L
McCain ad to run during tonight’s coverage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4KIvRTg6KQ
Classy act by Sen. McCain.
The most disgusting part will be having to endure all the smirk-laden glee of the MSM punditocracy, as they lavish praise on this “new kind of leader” whose Hope’nChange will “bring us all together”.
The Fuhrer would be most displeased that a non-Teutonic has become the new vessel for delivering on his dream.
that’s cool mookie…
Yeah, tomorrow Kick his butt!!! lol
With the mass worship of their hero and Greek god, I am reminded of this.
The Democrat and Obama staging and props are too much, starting with Berlin. Too much pomp. Too little circumstance.
Liberals dont want to help the poor with their money, they want to help the poor with YOUR money.
Only to walk on and/or part! Afterall, he is the Obamessiah.
You’re awful and mean. I can’t believe your husband married such an awful, mean woman.
Wow. I honestly can’t tell if he was being sarcastic with the comment about the timing of the nomination, but that was very “sportsmanlike” of him.
Very safe way to take some of the attention, but I doubt the MSM will devote much coverage or analysis of it.
Is that McCain’s ad tonight?
I was hoping McCain would be wearing a toga, challenging Obama to come clean about Ayers…
Did this remind you of the Nuremberg rallies?
OT-Newsflash
Another plane hits a house in Norh Las Vegas. IT’s the SECOND plane to hit a house in a week. It’s a 3 alarm fire. Two homes are damaged. This plane was bigger than the last. AND no Dingy Harry was not on board.

to it. My proofreading skills are sorely lacking today.
Trollman, in hindsight, how smart would it be politically to “attack” a black nominee for president on this anniversary? McCain chose the higher ground despite the fact that the left will not acknowledge his deed.
1) Hope
2) Change
3) Yes we can
4) God Bless America
There, you just heard the entire speech.
Respectfully,

OT-
A fairly large area in North Las Vegas has been closed off for emergency vehicles. Reportedly, the plane was on fire before it hit the two houses.
Well played Senator McCain, very well played. That ad was very nice.
Politics aside:
I’m the first person in my family born post Jim Crow. My grandfather was born and raised in Mississippi. He fought hard in the Civil Rights movement, and lived his life with immense integrity and pride. He’s the greatest man I’ve ever known. He died when I was in high school. If there’s life after death, I hope he witnesses what happens in Denver tonight when Obama makes history.
Love or hate Obama we’ve come a long way as a country, and I’m so happy to witness something like this in my lifetime. This country is so strong and resilient, and has inherent ability to cure itself. I’m so proud.
My 17 year old son said that the temple reminds hism of the Stonehenge sequence in Spinal Tap. I hope the one can get out of his pod. Will there be sacrificial virgins laid out on the steps?
What hypocracy. Republicans used the Greek Temple motif at their 2004 convention. They were for it before they were against it. It’s only elitism if Democrats do it? Got nothing better to talk about? No rebuttal to Democratic campaign themes? The Republicans clearly are a party of no ideas.

Are you serious? After all these years of Bush playing nice with Democrats while they go for the jugular? This Ayers thing is serious business, and it is time to have it out.
Besides, we all know McCain is racist just for running against a black candidate. /rolls eyes

Stop murdering babies. Thanks.
I never said I thought it was fair, it is just reality.
In this PC culture, the Dems have a lot working in their favor.
“Tickets are being given away” and they are still available for McCain’s big Friday announcement.
How did they manage to get Odumbo’s gigantic ego to fit into that puny stadium?
Dear LGM, that’s spelled “hypocrisy”. There, now I’ve corrected it for you.
The rest of you, of course, is beyond repair.
That kind of gloating on this blog is a bit redundant, isn’t it?
You can insult better than that. Go outside of your comfort zone…that is where Barack wants you to be anyway, right?
OK. Who put the turd in the pool?
It really says something when the same stage designer for Britney Spears is behind Obummer’s greek temple of celebrity mock up. Yeah! This guy’s ego isn’t the least bit overinflated.
Isn’t it also interesting that they require the highest security and identity checks for Obummer’s 70,000 butt kissers but Dems have pooh poohed (heh heh) any requirement that there be voter identification verification of any kind for the upcoming election.
It really makes you wonder if Dems have any sense of irony at all, doesn’t it?
Why, the Courant Institute of Mathematical Scineces, NYU, of course.
I agree, only why does the first black candidate have to have so many marxist friends and ideas? Why doesn’t anyone know what Barry means by change?
MLK may not have been a perfect man, but I believe he was a generally decent man. It insults me deeply as an American that this clown Barack Obama has the nerve to subliminally compare himself to Martin Luther King, by timing his propaganda speech on the anniversary of MLK’s greatest speech.
MLK would be aghast at Obama’s abortion voting record alone..
emjem24 said:
Yeah, when I heard who designed his stage, it made me laugh. This, just after McCain had released an ad talking about Obama’s celebrity and comparing him to Britney Spears. Forget the Bill Ayers link, what about the Britney Spears link?!
TheOtherSide said:
That is because Republicans and conservatives don’t act like Hannah Montana fans, unlike Obama and “80,000 of his closest friends”.
Bush had four fluted columns. BFD. I’ve got more than that on my front porch…and last time I checked it doesn’t look like a Greek tragedy. Quite antebellum actually.
Good try, TheWrongSide. Good try.
I don’t think it was in a football field after the Berlin blitzkrieg, but could be wrong. Most of the people in Berlin were said to be there for a rock concert first, then the Obamanation.
you forgot one, Eric.
Bush didn’t have a replica VC-137C (Air Force One) forward fuselage made out of a scrapped Champion Air 727, either.
I can’t wait to hear the spin about that.
I am wondering if Michelle O’s dress pin tonight will be a satellite dish.
I certainly hope “THEONE” does not take on the speech patterns and mannerisms of Martin Luther King, Jr. tonight. MLK was an original, and in honor of his memory and accomplishments should never be used to exploit another’s political ambitions. Like a chameleon, and the fact Obama suffers abandonment issues, I’m sure you will think he is the reincarnation of Mr. King – unless you remember the inspiring real one.
You are correct. Bush used Enron’s corporate jet during his 2000 campaign.
In 2004, Bush WAS the current president so columns depicting the White House was more than appropriate. Nice try, LGM.
Zing!!
Seriously, that was really weak. A joke about Bush’s mom would have been more original.
And neither did Obama.
http://www.presidentialexperience.com/
Shooter,
Excellent point good sir, but I left that one out because the entire speech is themed “Look at me.”
Respectfully,
eric aka the Tygrrrr Express
P.S. I STILL think it would be funny to have Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama onstage to Sir Mixalot’s “Baby Got Back.”
Bush Bush blame Bush Bush Bush…. hopey changey hopey changey hopey changey Barack! let the Parrott have his night he’s toast after this.
No Odopey 08′
I think you hit it on the head.
The monstrosity that looks like something out of Greece is SUPPOSED to be the LINCOLN Memorial.
It IS supposed to be a link between MLK and ‘the one’, B. Hussein Obama. And that’s a link that just can not ever be made other than two black guys made a speech on the same date…no other similarities exist.
One WAS a hero and one is an empty suit…doing injustice to hangers in closets …even in Greece.
p.s. did I hear NO Teleprompters tonight?
Beer game! Uhs, and ummmms.
OT:
Kill Bill O’Reilly rappers back with ‘Dear Michelle’
#31,
His ego fits because there’s no roof. To infinity and beyond!
So, are you refuting the fact that it is indeed there?
Will it also be at the RNC Convention?
No Offense Mookie, but I wouldn’t blame Michelle if she deletes that link. Why should we give these idiots free advertisment or the attention they are seeking, you know?
shooter#53 – your last line sums it up beautifully:
“One WAS a hero and one is an empty suit…doing injustice to hangers in closets…even in Greece.”
I’m so tired of this boring, Dem. Convention week…I can’t wait for it to end!
I didn’t think of it that way. I was just annoyed.
Annoyed at who mook? why let those worthless pieces of trash bother you?
I don’t think they want to help the poor at all, because they need poor people voting for them and guilty rich people voting for them to help the poor people.
If all the poor people got money, they’d vote for someone who wouldn’t tax the living hell out of them.
It’s not part of the convention. It’s a touring exhibition that’s non-partisan and has been all over the country. You said Obama had a replica made of Air Force One.
Read that link, Mookie and one thing popped out at me. Notice how they call Bill O’ Right Wing? and Keith O’ a TV pundit. Typical Lib Rag.
I’m annoyed they’re from Boston, annoyed that they’re going after Michelle and annoyed that the Herald gave them the free advertising. And annoyed that the Sox lost.
And the Herald is the conservative Boston paper!
Giambi. lol….
So, I ask again…will the replica presidential transport in this exhibit be making an appearance at the RNC convention so that conservatives can have some pics taken, too?
No, actually, I didn’t say that at all.
Actually, THE ONE will miraculously be turning it into
kool-aidwine, and during hissermonacceptance speach he’ll be doing that bread and fish thing for the Obamaniacs to go with theirkool-aidwine. : )That was an interesting article. I was particularly struck by Olbermann’s official statement regarding the rap lyrics:
Regarding the rap about killing Bill O’Reilly and Michelle Malkin, Olbermann admits that he agrees with “the whore stuff,” but just the other week, he was absolutely exorcised over Rush’s comment that John Edwards keeps a mistress because “he wanted a woman who could do something else with her mouth besides talk.”
Sometimes I envision the inner machinations of Keith Olbermann’s mind as that of Homer Simpson’s – a windup monkey with crashing cymbals.
I understand Bro. They piss me off too. They can’t make real music, so they have to use what little telent they have to attack others.
Come on, now. What were you saying below?
Why are you making a non-partisan exhibition into a conservative vs liberal thing? It’s a non-partisan traveling exhibition. The Air Force One replica has always been part of it.
Was the picture that started making the rounds today dated? The expo has been there since the 22nd, with Air Force One.
If poor people got money, they’d become middle class and probably vote for Obama’s tax plan over McCain’s. 80% of the taxpayers will be taxed more under McCain’s plan than Obama’s.
Every one hit wonder is thought to be a rock star during the time of their one hit. Will Obama ultimately prove to be the rock star he pretends and is said to be? Or will he be playing next year in the parking lot at Ribfest between Firefall and Men Without Hats? Anyway, if the rock star thing works out, I hope he’ll be able to find a fill-in for all of that boring President-y kind of stuff that someone will have to do.

MJ I still don’t like you, but that’s ok.
Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming “America’s first African-American president” ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro – a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama’s great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator’s ethnic composition.).
That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother’s side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father’s side.
So in effect MJ, you’re casting a vote for someone who’s has a majority of his racial makeup of those who threw your race into slavery. This candidate is the biggest farce I’ve ever seen in my life.
He’s Pee Wee Herman with a sun tan.
And you know I’m not a racist MJ because you know a racist wouldn’t be this straight up with you.
Lets see McAmnesty fill a football stadium full of supporters. I won’t hold my breath.
AJ, why should people cover their ears during the national anthem? Do you hate America that much? Jennifer Hudson is singing it btw, and she’s gota nice set of pipes.
John Ansell said:
Huh? It used to cost me $7 in road tolls just to drive to Logan airport and back.
Today a black man is leading a major political party in the race for President.
Something to ponder: if, as MLK dreamed, folks truly judged others not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character, would Obama still be there today?
A footnote in history is the most this will be. Sadly it will be detracting from the next time a black person makes it this far and actually deserves it.
He may only hate the fact that some singers take vocal license with the anthem and torture it to the point that it IS actually painful to listen to.
Jennifer Hudson may actually do a fine job tonight. There’s always the mute button on the remote control if you disagree.
Enforce our Constitution.
Actually, it is more of a myth than reality that Arabs were the first owners of black slaves sold to the whites. Just about every African sold to a white slaver was sold by a fellow African (black). In fact, the slave trade could not have functioned without the help of black Africans.
When Bill Clinton apologized to Africans for America’s role in slavery, he was apologizing to the descendants of those poor slaves first owners; families who were enriched by their selling of their fellow Africans.
I actually like you, Mookie, but let me be clear because you are having a hard time understanding where I am coming from.
The liberal trolls tried to say W’s convention was presumptuous on the scale of Obama’s. I simply argued that W didn’t have:
1. A replica of Air Force One and (thanks to your link) a whole slew of other simulated presidential trappings in the form of a traveling exhibit.
Obama didn’t make the replica, but the replica (and associated exhibit) was, conveniently, at the DNC convention.
I’m not. Fact is, it is there. The Obama campaign has been doing their best to make up for “The One’s” lack of experience by trying to make him look more presidential at every turn (EuroTrip, for example). Conveniently, as part of the festivities at the DNC convention, a traveling exhibit of presidential items is on display. Who determines where this exhibit goes? Who booked it for the DNC? If this non-partisan exhibit will also be at the RNC convention, I’ll admit that I am wrong.
A short while ago I saw a pic of the unpainted Champion Air fuselage on a flatbed with a caption saying it was headed for Denver, so I don’t know.
I hear people talking on TV as if it’s something really amazing for a black person to make it this far. I don’t feel amazed by it. I’ve known for a long time this was possible.
I realize on an intellectual level that it’s an historic occurrence; I just wish it had been done by someone with better qualifications.
BINGO!
#80 REESE,
NO! in answer to your question.
ok, jennifer Hudson butchers it….
nice try on the spin though…. crash/burn
Instances of Arab prejudice regarding Negroid peoples and slaves
Racist opinions occurred in the works of some historians and geographers: so in the 14th century CE Ibn Khaldun could write:
“…the Negro nations are, as a rule, submissive to slavery, because (Negroes) have little that is (essentially) human and possess attributes that are quite similar to those of dumb animals…”
Obama’s people wrote crap like this.
Arabs also traded white people as slaves.
Please teach algebra instead of junteenth.
Please, can I work for free even if we go back to 120% taxes?
From what I’m hearing in the background on Fox News coverage, the sound system there is LOUD. I’d want hearing protection if I was there.
In 1919, Lenin said, “The cinema must and shall become the foremost cultural weapon of the proletariat.” In addition to “Si se puede,” the “O” hand signs, pastel lights, and little Obama symbols, large crowds of 20-somethings, I wonder, what other symbolism from Triumph of the Will will we see here? I’m not saying this as an ad hominem attack on Obama and his followers. Rather, if folks actually watch Triumph of the Will, they will see striking similarities in terms of communication themes, methods for capturing the imagination through romantic or pride-stirring images, focus on the youth, a lack of focus on systems, methods or policies, etc. Take note tonight of Obama and this event’s ability to strike up emotional fervor through: use of victimization; the telling and retelling of lies meant to convince the weak-minded; the quasi-religiousness of its leader; use of cultist romanticism; and the blame of others for their problems (the rich, the Man, Big Business, etc.) The main difference is that Obama’s message doesn’t have the nationalistic message that “Triumph of the Will” has. Beyond that, they are remarkably similar in their effects.
Here are a few lines. I’ll leave you to decide who said them.
1. “It is our total belief in ourselves, our hope for our youth, striding forward today, to be called on to finish the work which began…”
2. “We are who we have been waiting for…”
3. “The … people are happy in the knowledge that the divisions of the past have been replaced by a high standard leading the nation.”
I like you too and agree that comparing Bush’s backdrop with Obama’s is silly. The exhibition was booked by the Denver ‘08 committee and sponsored by two conservative talk stations, one liberal/progressive station, two music stations and WorthPoint. This is based solely on my opinion but I’m guessing if the Minneapolis ‘08 committee had wanted them, they would have went. I saw this expo in NYC and it’s as straight down the middle as one could get so I cannot imagine they’d turn down the funding.
Wait…are you saying that they booked the expo on purpose to try and give Obama more gravitas? That’s completely possible but it would depend on when it was booked.
On a side note, I’m just hoping there are fisticuffs on the MSNBC set.
I disagree. But even if you were right (you aren’t), they’d still edge out conservatives, who don’t want to help the poor at all — regardless of whose money it is.
Yes, he would. George W. Bush, who has excelled based on a legacy of privilege and cronyism, would not. But thanks for asking! (But perhaps you meant this rhetorically, since the answer — yes — is so gosh darn obvious!).
Fisticuffs? Try slapfight! The cameras will cut away before the tears start to flow.
I disagree, but there probably aren’t good numbers available. I am particularly galled by the way we waste money in the “education” system instead of properly teaching young people from poor backgrounds. I’ll make a deal with you nyk, I’ll shout for money to be spent on kids (instead of administrators), if you’ll tell the black community that studying is not a “white” thing, but the smart thing.
