Yet another ignorant and untrue statement.

Sixteen months ago, Arthur C. Brooks, a professor at Syracuse University, published “Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism.” The surprise is that liberals are markedly less charitable than conservatives.

If many conservatives are liberals who have been mugged by reality, Brooks, a registered independent, is, as a reviewer of his book said, a social scientist who has been mugged by data. They include these findings:

    – Although liberal families’ incomes average 6 percent higher than those of conservative families, conservative-headed households give, on average, 30 percent more to charity than the average liberal-headed household ($1,600 per year vs. $1,227).

    – Conservatives also donate more time and give more blood.

    – Residents of the states that voted for John Kerry in 2004 gave smaller percentages of their incomes to charity than did residents of states that voted for George Bush.

    – Bush carried 24 of the 25 states where charitable giving was above average.

    – In the 10 reddest states, in which Bush got more than 60 percent majorities, the average percentage of personal income donated to charity was 3.5. Residents of the bluest states, which gave Bush less than 40 percent, donated just 1.9 percent.

    – People who reject the idea that “government has a responsibility to reduce income inequality” give an average of four times more than people who accept that proposition

    .

Actually you are incorrect. Arthur C. Brooks, Professor and head of Syracuse’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs found that, on average, self identified conservative heads of households gave 30 percent more to charities than heads of households identifying as liberal even though those identifying themselves as liberal had slightly higher income levels. So, I guess southsideironworks was right after all, eh.

We’re a gigantic nation full of generous people: why not cut out the middleman and help the poor directly? Why spend millions to fund the campaign of someone who may or may not help the poor, when you can spend those same millions directly on the poor?

18 million cracks in the glass ceiling… 18 million people who could throw ten bucks into a help-the-poor fund and make a serious difference to some poor people. Instead of just talking about it.

Really, I don’t get it. The means of helping the poor is already in place. Nobody needs their candidate to win in order to help them. They just need to start spending their money somewhere else.

Pawlenty is the only logical choice. He is tall, has good hair, and is inoffensive.

Not only that, it completely takes away any inexperience argument from the libtards, since he has tons more experience than their messiah. Actually, that’s sad and hilarious at the same time.

WTF have the dems accomplished since taking office!? [insert big 'O' salute] WTF has Biden been doing the LAST THIRTY YEARS!? [another big 'O' salute] And Obama’s 140 days “present”!?

Well, when a Republican is signing the bills, it’s hard to be a legislator in the other party.

To be honest, Obama’s inexperience in the Senate is a big plus for him. Legislative records are poisonous for presidential ambitions. The truth is, most Senator’s are flip-floppers because the times change, compromises are made, and it’s all public record.

The previous two presidents who came straightr from ther Senate were in that office for one term (and some change) each. That’s not an accident.

As for what Biden did, he passed the most important legislation against domestic violence in American history.

Best line of the night from a long time Republican who’s job got sent overseas -

“I’m for the people who put Barney Smith (the speaker) first before Smith Barney.”

I’m not watching your little love fest, my stomach can’t take it, but I did watch the news today, and by far, the best line all day was Pawlenty asking about your messiah: “What’s he done? NOTHING. What’s he run? NOTHING.”
That’s a way better line, since it’s true.
And Barney Smith is a lemming to think that BO cares about him. There’s one born every minute.
