McCain camp wants your attention

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 28, 2008 12:00 PM

Update: Yawn.

So, Team McCain is trying to steal some of Barackopolis’s buzz tonight with an EXCITING AND UNPRECEDENTED NEW AD! I guess I’m supposed to be swooning about this e-mail just in from the McCain camp, but with the capitulationist/McCain-ized GOP platform still burning my eyes and the Obama thug tactics on my front burner, this is just not putting a thrill up my leg. How about yours?

Ho-hum:

All: Please be on the lookout for an exciting and unprecedented new McCain ad we’ll release later today. Please see Communications Director Jill Hazelbaker talk about it this morning on “Morning Joe”:

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Apparently the McCain campaign has an ad rolling out tonight. What’s it about?

JILL HAZELBAKER: Well, Mika, this is a historic ad. I think this is the first of its kind. Senator McCain is going to speak direct to camera to Barack Obama. I’m not going to give away many more details than that. But suffice to say it’s going to be a very exciting ad, and I think it’s going to get a lot of attention.

BRZEZINSKI: Jill, you’ve got to give us more on this ad. He’s speaking directly to camera, John McCain is to Barack Obama. If you say there’s news here, what’s the news?

HAZELBAKER: Well, I’m going to keep a lid on it. But I think it’s newsworthy to note that Senator McCain is going to have an ad that’s going to air in battleground states around the time that Senator Obama is speaking tonight. And he’s going to be talking directly to his opponent. So, I’m going to leave it there, but it’s going be very exciting and a lot of people are going to focus on it.

Eh.

    Not true.

We don’t have a nominee until it is made official at the convention.

Some of us realize that John McCain’s track record is in complete alignment with the Communist Party USA’s program of The Road To Socialism, and we will not stop fighting that program and it’s Republican poster child (McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, “Agents of Intolerance” and “bigot” attacks on the “Ultra-Right“, etc.)

    We will not go quietly.

The best thing John McCain can do for his country is to step down and let two real conservatives fight the battle against Obama/Biden.

    Unbelievable.

    This is McCain’s track record.

For those who see no difference between McCain and the two Democrats, this serves as a reminder that while McCain drifts to the middle on some issues, a large chasm exists between the nominees that will face off in November.

You know this. Yet you deny it and replace it with your own version of reality.

Joy, in the last election, 62,040,610 62,040,610 people voted for George W Bush. 59,028,444 voted for John Kerry. If the same people used your mentality, and demanded that Bush be in 100% agreement with them on all the issues, and didn’t settle for the lesser of two evils, then we would have had a president John Kerry. There would have been no surge of troops in Iraq, but all would have been removed by now and Iraq would now be the domain of Al Sadyr and his supporters from Iran.

Elections have consequences. And I agree, people should vote their conscience. And they should not lie to themselves and others as to what those consequences are.

As the 62 millions of people who voted for Bush, outnumbering the 59 million who voted for Kerry prove, that if a significant number of people used your logic, that the greater of two evils would have prevailed.

Again, don’t kid yourself. And calling me a stupid boy may make yourself feel better about your view because my telling your the truth here makes you feel bad. But it doesn’t change the basic facts that we are forced to deal with not only here, but in our lives in the real world as well.

I hope that at some point, you and others here great and small can see this.

Ron, McCain could be a perfect candidate. He just needs to be reminded who he represents. AMERICA! I don’t mind anybody voting for whoever, you are right that America allows us that choice.

My point is simple, McAmnesty is asking us to follow him into making America a third world country and I’ve already seen what happens when we allow that.

This is a pretty good idea of what happens.

We don’t need that. McAmensty needs to get in check with the party base. He’d win in a landslide.

No, what is truly more frightening is suffering 4 years of McCain (with a Democratic Congress), then, because of his inevitable failings due to having virtually the same platform as the Democrats, the Republicans losing even more seats in the Congress in 2010 and 2012, and losing the White House to Obama (or possibly Clinton). That scares me more than having Obama in the White House for 4 years, which will do nothing but mobilize conservatives in ways we haven’t seen in decades.

If we lose more seats in the house and senate because conservatives are having a shrieking hissy fit over McCain’s nomination, we do NOT deserve to govern.

You might have mentioned that once or twice.

You have also acknowledged that you have no idea how you are going to be able to combat any Amnesty program if Obama is elected. You don’t seem interested in the ways McCain could be pushed toward enforcment.

Instead of pitching a fit, repeating “McShamnisty(tm)” over and over and trotting out Juan Hernandez I for obne would Reeeeeeallllly appreciate it if you would enlighten me on what you plan to do to stop the genuine amnesty that obama will sign in to law?

I agree, an important issue. I seriously agree. The question is what do we do about it? Work the problem or shoot ourselves in the foot.

I used to live in the hills above the sunset strip. The first time it rained a Mexican gent (Don’t know if legal or illegal) slammed in to my parked, antique Mercedes (Brunhilda) with his work truck hard enough to pop out the engine then he tried to drive away…a microcosm of the BS that goes on everyday. I get it. I really do. The question is what is to be done about the situation.
