Next, the Obama thugs came for Stanley Kurtz

First, they came for TV stations daring to air an independent ad about Barack Obama and unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

Next, they came for GOP donors.

Now, they are shamelessly attacking National Review investigative journalist Stanley Kurtz — one of conservatism’s most thoughtful and penetrating writers on academic and educational affairs. Kurtz has been at the forefront probing Obama’s relationships with left-wing ideologues. It was his public information request and public call for help that led to the University of Illinois – Chicago finally releasing tons of files that shed light on the Obama/Ayers working relationship. The Obama camp is condemning Kurtz in harsher terms than it ever condemned the terrorist Ayers. Kurtz has been attacked now as a “right-wing hatchet man” and “slimy character assassin.”

Here are the Kurtz-smearing talking points the Obama campaign sent to its worshipers.

It was “non-stop.” And: “Surreal, amusing, and chilling.”

As I reported yesterday, Kurtz spent two hours on legendary radio talk show host Milt Rosenberg’s Chicago program on WGN last night detailing his initial findings. The Obama campaign went ballistic — and in typical Chicago mafia-style, smeared Kurtz and tried to shut down the show.

It’s interesting to see what lengths the Obama campaign is willing to reach to stifle dissenting voices. Kurtz said it best at the end of the show- If a respected conservative who writes for mainstream conservative publications like the Weekly Standard and National Review can’t speak his mind, then what dissenting opinion can be voiced? Did we see a preview of the fairness doctrine tonight?

Yes, indeed. Feel the chill?

Reader Jeff in Chicago e-mailed me while listening in:

I’m listening to Stanley Kurtz on the Milt Rosenberg Show. Milt announced that in his 30 yrs of doing his show, he’s never had “the firestorm” (as he puts it) on his switchboard as he’s having tonight. His call screener found the root of the flood: An pro-Obama website that claims that Kurtz is trying to smear Obama and that the campaign won’t allow the “swiftboating” that happened to Kerry, so they gave the show info (call-in number, time, etc) and suggested that people flood the switchboard with negative calls. The callers claimed that everything Kurtz is stating is fabricated, so Kurtz then read verbatim from the documents! He read one of the staff presentation agendas where the agenda stated that Obama would welcome the guests with Ayers then briefing them on the update so clearly they were together more than casually (and these docs are just the tip of the iceberg).

In addition, Stanley read an example of what organization received money and which one’s were turned down. In the case he mentioned, $200K was given to an African-American South Side School for a celebration of Juneteenth (see here for explanation, http://www.cinnamonhearts.com/junteenth.htm ) whereas a school program focusing in Algebra expertise was turned down.

As this exploration unfolds it should get very interesting indeed……..

Andy McCarthy also gave some play-by-play last night:

In the last few minutes, two called to scald Milt for having Stanley on without having an Obama rep on to give the counterpoint. Milt explains, repeatedly, that he contacted the Obama campaign (he gave the name of the campaign official his producer spoke with) and the campaign — the HQ of which is about a quarter mile from the studio where the show airs — declined to come on. They were offered the opportunity to have someone there with Stanley for the entire two hours, and they said no.

Another pro-Obama woman called and, after accusing Stanley of slander but of course not citing anything he said that was slanderous, stated, “We want it to stop.” Milt asked what she wanted stopped, and she replied, “It’s just not what we believe as Americans.” Milt tried again, asking what she didn’t believe. She responded that it was someone saying bad things about Barack Obama and, again, we just want it to stop.

Very compelling.

Earth to Obama supporters: no one is claiming guilt by association — though willful association with an admitted terrorist would be worthy of noting in a presidential candidate. Obama and Bill Ayers had a working relationship. Yet, Obama claimed Ayers was just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and has otherwise minimized the relationship. Aside from the fact that Obama is not telling the truth, which itself is important, the details of the relationship are important. If the press was doing its job, we’d have those details already. Finally, the media’s job is being done … by Stanley. He should be saluted, not smeared.

There are plenty of reasons to not vote for Obama in terms of policy and experience without resorting to these kind of attacks. If anyone listened to Sean Hannity on his radio show a couple of days ago trying to make these arguments to Ted Koppel, Koppel calmly and persuasively shot all of them down and it made Sean sound like a spoiled little brat. Kind of like that guy Kurtz.

    That’s the problem. He’s not defending himself, he’s trying to silence the opposition. There is a difference. If he wanted to defend himself, he would’ve put out an ad, or called the radio show to refute all of Kurtz’s claims.

    These talking points do not explain why Obama is still associated with an unrepentant terrorist, who wishes he had done more bombing and alllows himself to be photgraphed proudly standing on a U.S. flag. This is a man that Obama refers to as “a friend” (his words). If Obama has done nothing wrong here, a full review of the records of that board should be of no concern to him.

    However, his extreme reaction and things like this Call to Action would indicate that there are things that require real investigation. That is our right in a free society.

    I think people are regaining an understanding and appreciation of what our founders did and said.

    Patrick Henry (May 29, 1736 – June 6, 1799) was a prominent figure in the American Revolution, known and remembered for his “Give me Liberty, or give me Death!” speech.

    Our nation’s churches were hotbeds of political discussion from before out nation’s founding until an IRS regulation was passed (in 1957?) that unconstitutionally violated the first amendment and restricted political free speech in churches.

    What is the best way to fix that and restore our freedoms?

    Pass the Fair Tax and repeal the 16th Amendment.

    The Fair Tax also helps with the illegal immigration problem…

    Today, illegals don’t pay income taxes, so they have an unfair advantage. Under the Fair Tax, illegals would not get the “prebate”, so the tables would be turned and illegals would now pay more taxes than legal citizens, not less.

    Yes, Obama doesn’t want his true association with Ayers to be publicized. But the reason is in the details of the foundation’s actions, not the association itself.

    The association with the Black Separatists, who are the epitome of Racism, is the real fear that is driving Obama to stop this information at all costs. If he can’t stop the details from emerging, he knows he will lose the Presidential race!

    The “Citizen” army will be none other than the militant wing of the Black Theology movement (Nation of Islam). I’ve seen these people march and turn on command like soldiers, only in suits and ties instead of brown shirts.

    Of course, the above is strictly my opinion, but I do not see ANY information to discredit it.

    Well, once you actually know the reason why Ayers founded the Weather Underground it will be apparent. Ayers bombed our government in relation for racism against blacks.

    Add this fact to the teachings of separatist Black Theology (which Obama absorbed for 20 years) and to the activities of the Ayers/Obama school reform programs in Chicago and everything begins to fit together.

    BTW, the Nation of Islam movement is based in Chicago and also adheres to the Black Theology movement, only with less restraint. Have any White people EVER read one of their newspapers that they pass out on the street corners of predominately Black populated areas? It is PURE racism. The newspaper instructs its readers to “do whatever it takes” to take from the white man what really belongs to you. I can not emphasize enough that the core theme of this teaching is to take everything from the white man at any cost, and “whatever it takes” to get it.

    Obama has embraced this theology and the money appropriations from the Ayers/Obama school reform underscores this.

    As I’ve pointed out on other blogs and in conversations with friends, we should be very concerned about the fact that the fringe left is ga-ga over Obama, despite the fact that his campaign seeks to portray him as a “peacemaker” ready to bring those with disparate points of view together and work with them to reach a common solution to the nation’s problems.

    Don’t be fooled — if the fringe left ever expected Obama to work with conservatives or to compromise on anything, he would have been dumped a long time ago.

    The truth is that the fringe left expects an Obama presidency to be the most liberal administration ever, and they are wetting their chops in anticipation of Obama and the congressional Democrats simply bowling over any opposition with a single gigantic socialist juggernaut.

    This kind of intimidation campaign against opposing views is only the tip of the iceberg, compared to what the fringe left is dreaming of, if Obama is elected and the Democrats keep their congressional majority.

    Count on it.

    How many concentration camps have I seen? Spent any time in the ghetto, son? Virtually the same thing for the vast majority of decent people trapped there by their own criminal elements.

I saw the sonogram of my son at 6 weeks. I saw his heart, and I saw it beating. I think that Jesus knows that my son is more than a “fetus”. I think that pro-choicers know this as well, they just can’t call him what he really is because then, well, you’re killing a human baby! They also must have a cause to champion – “We are for the woman’s rights! We are champions of causes!” This makes them feel better.

    Another point that goes right along with this – the Left wants to make the whole abortion issue out to be about crazy right-wing Christian zealots against the rest of the world – “Theocracy!” Question. Do you really have to be a Christian to believe that abortion is wrong, and well, murder? Can you take God out of the equation and make a reasonable argument that, yes, abortion is killing a baby? I really don’t think that it’s so hard, so, here goes: Do you, Mr. non-God-believing-Lefty, believe that killing a 30 year old in cold blood should be a punishable crime? Yes? So, even though you don’t believe in God, you think that murder is wrong. OK, would you, Mr. non-God-believing-Lefty, have a problem if, right in front of you, I gutted a pregnant dog and performed my own quasi-caesarian on her, yanked out one of those puppy “fetuses”, and splattered it with a sledgehammer – right in front of you.     From now through election day, if there is any risk of being in the same room as an Obama supporter, it will be advisable to always have a towel nearby to clean off the spittle when they foam at the mouth. Also, be ready to provide first aid should an Obama campaign worker (easily identifiable by their brown shirts) burst a vessel or suffer a sudden coronary.

    THAT is why Obama got such a huge turnout in Germany. Those were the Socialist Workers Party and the Communist. Right now the only thing stopping the European, and Canadian, Left from complete nationalization is America. They try that and the money flows into the U.S. If the U.S. goes socialist wham-o, no place to go.

    Canada’s health system puts such a strain on Doctors, nurses and such that they flock here as soon as their minimum service is finished. If we had National Health, again, no place to go.

    Socialism, Fascism, Communism whatever-they need the power of coercion to stay in power. Our Constitution, Bill of Rights, system of elections are all a hindrance to that.

    First Amendment Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
    Second Amendment A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    Surrender nothing to them. The Second protects the rest and they are dead set on gutting the First.
