Palin for America: A true conservative: “She knows when to stand up and doesn’t let anyone tell her to sit down”
Scroll down for updates…vid of the announcement at HA…

The announcement from Dayton will start any minute. There’s a new rock star in town. Conservatives are full of Hope that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will bring much-needed Change to McCain Republicanism.
Catch the fever.
I’m starting a new thread and kicking off discussion with this YouTube ad from Palin supporters.
Yes, I’m impressed. Very impressed.
Flashback: You go, girl: Alaska GOP Gov. will sue Bush administration over polar bear listing

The official statement from McCain:
U.S. Senator John McCain today announced that he has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and to serve as his vice president.
Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has a record of delivering on the change and reform that we need in Washington.
Governor Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources. She leads a state that matters to every one of us – Alaska has significant energy resources and she has been a leader in the fight to make America energy independent.
In Alaska, Governor Palin challenged a corrupt system and passed a landmark ethics reform bill. She has actually used her veto and cut budgetary spending. She put a stop to the “bridge to nowhere” that would have cost taxpayers $400 million dollars.
As the head of Alaska’s National Guard and as the mother of a soldier herself, Governor Palin understands what it takes to lead our nation and she understands the importance of supporting our troops.
Governor Palin has the record of reform and bipartisanship that others can only speak of. Her experience in shaking up the status quo is exactly what is needed in Washington today.

The ACU raves:
CONSERVATIVES HAIL MCCAIN VICE PRESIDENTIAL PICK
(Minneapolis, MN) – David Keene, Chairman of the American Conservative Union, has issued the following statement on Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain’s pick of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.
“The selection of Governor Palin is great news for conservatives, for the party and for the country. Her dedication to principle, her courage both before and after her election as Governor of Alaska and her personal qualities make her a perfect choice for Vice President. I predict any conservatives who have been lukewarm thus far in their support of the McCain candidacy will work their hearts out between now and November for the McCain – Palin ticket.”
***
Jennifer Rubin at PJM:
…Palin will argue that in fact Obama has no more experience than she does, and that Palin has the advantage of sharing McCain’s views (and thus being right) on the surge, Russian ambitions, and meetings with state terror sponsors. The VP debate against Biden may be dicey, but the McCain camp knows full well that a vice-presidential debate isn’t going to make or break their candidate. In short, McCain is hoping that Palin is good enough on this score for a number two pick against a Democratic ticket headed by a man with virtually the same meager national security credentials.
As to the second, Palin has much to offer McCain. On a non-political level few can doubt her Q-factor. (She will be the first former beauty queen to run on a national ticket.) The daughter of a teacher and mother of five, she has an ebullient personality and an excellent TV presence. The Right will be entranced : a pro-life hunter with a passion for domestic energy development? And in the battle for “change” she has the record of reform and the identity of a complete Washington outsider. Finally, as a lifelong NRA member, an outdoorswoman, and a western governor she may provide extra help in mountain and western states such as Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico which are certain to be in play.
On the policy front, Palin can make the case that the Democratic program of higher taxes, more spending, and a government takeover of health care is a proven loser. She will argue that she can bring practical experience from as far outside the Beltway as one can get. And, of course, the presence of a woman on the ticket creates instantaneous excitement and puts into play Clinton voters looking for a new champion.
The pick also tells us something about McCain: he thinks he can win. He was not willing to rock the boat with his conservative base. He can use Palin on offense to make a run at women voters and on defense to blunt the populist attacks from the Democrats. And it shows he understands the need to generate enthusiasm and “newness” in his own campaign.
Ed Morrissey: Change conservatives can believe in!
LifeNews has an excellent overview of Palin’s staunch, pro-life activism.
James Pethokoukis sends the 10 Things You Didn’t Know About Sarah Palin:

12:22pm Eastern. McCain: It is with great pride and gratitude that I tell you that I have the right partner for those who value their responsibilities over their privileges, someone who has fought corruption, stopped government from wasting taxpayers’ money…someone with executive experience, who has shown great tenacity and skill in tackling tough problems, especially our dependence on foreign oil, someone with strong principles, a fighting spirit, and deep compassion, someone who grew up in a decent, hard-working middle-class family…
Good stuff: “She knows when to stand up and doesn’t let anyone tell her to sit down…She’s exactly who I need, she’s exactly who this country needs…”
Really good.
The next vice president of the United States, Gov. Sarah Palin of the great state of Alaska.
Huge roar of applause. Huge.
Obama-Biden has to be in full snit-fit mode.
And Hillary must be experiencing a schadenfreude-licious moment right now.
It’s McCain’s birthday and the Palins’ 20th anniversary today.
12:44pm Eastern. Palin gives props to Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton. “The women of America aren’t finished yet…We can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all!”
Palin coopts the Hope and Change mantra. Sweet.
Audience coopts “Yes, we can!” Sweet.
God bless America!
For real.

I too was excited to tell my daughters. When I picked up my 14 year old and told her she was very excited. We were listening to Hannity and she heard some of the comments from Dems about her inexperience and she went off! “Mom, Obama doesn’t have any experience either, so that’s not even fair!”
Sarah Palin!
Wow, I guess Dan Quayle is the proverbial whipping boy today. I’ve heard his name so many times today when the MSM speaks about Palin (trying imply he was inexperience and a moron), I can’t even count.
Heck…I never knew the Liberals held Quayle in such high regards.
They know they have to keep the word “inexperience” out of the discussion, so they use “Quale” as a substitute for stupid.
Quale, Quayle, Potato, Potatoe…Friday, long weekend…
Leaving Palin and the media aside for a moment, I have to ask you something. Is there something wrong with a woman being a stay-at-home Mom? Is there something wrong with a woman wanting to raise her own children vice putting them in a daycare so someone else can raise them while she works? Is there something wrong with a husband encouraging his wife in her desire and endeavors to educate their children at home rather than placing them in a broken school system?
“A mightier power and stronger Man from his throne has hurled, For the hand that rocks the cradle Is the hand that rules the world.”
W. R. Wallace, 1896
Wow, what a difference a day makes! As of yesterday I was voting against Obama but now I’ll vote McCain/Palin happily. What a relief.
Yes, a long weekend that McCain so masterfully guaranteed would not belong to The Golden Calf in the MSM.
You just KNOW he is pissed off tonight, and his entire little bus trip is a complete waste of time, especially since next week is the RNC. He might just have missed his last chance at Bogarting the news cycle.
Finally get a break from seeing those ears on TV for a while. Looks like a taxi heading down the street with it’s doors open.
I wonder what the stepford wife Michelle Obama think about what went down today?
I’ll bet that she’s drinking that hate-o-rade again..LOL
I just want to post another HOORAAAY!!
My wife says this was a smart move. Basically picking someone out of the beltway, who IS in touch with middle class america (the silent majority), and who will weigh in on decisions with family values in mind.
The term “maverick” is truly fitting. It helps when he had a lot of good choices in the Republican party. I am glad he was clever about his pick.
HIP HIP HOOORAYYY!
Alaska: coldest state, hottest governor.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a woman staying home and raising children IF THAT IS HER CHOICE!
I am raising them to understand that the HAVE a choice. I do not want them to be reliant on a man, for that limits the type of man they can choose from, and should something happen, and they know nothing else, then they are in a world of hurt.
What the Liberals are saying is that Palin should be home raising her children and is being selfish for pursuing her dreams and her obvious calling, setting back the Women’s movement decades and being completely hypocritical.
I believe I have made that abundantly clear several times in this thread alone.
I want my daughters to be self-sufficient, self-reliant, intelligent, and strong. Is there something wrong with that?
She is exactly what The Golden Calf is attempting to claim to be. She is the “outsider”…and a hell of one at that.
John McCain rolled up his sleeves and went offshore in the Gulf of Mexico looking for oil for American drivers. Barack Obama responded by going to the shores of Hawaii, taking off his shirt and oiling up his torso for American soccer moms.
Something else she can beat The Golden Calf at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtBBgn0I34E&feature=related
Tonight’s MSM coverage has been laughable with the repetition of Palin being supposedly too inexperienced to be “one heart-beat away from the Presidency.”
The really disturbing aspect of this repetition is that I have yet to see a “Republican” or “Conservative” or “non-Leftist” (whatever the MSM presents as balanced analysis these days) counter this desperate ploy. Since we are talking about supposed inexperience of a Vice President, should tragedy strike the President, should we not be more concerned with the inexperience of the person first assuming the office?
I really think the Left needs to have their argument turned-back on them – Vote Democrat, because experience will be just a heart-beat away from the Presidency, but not there yet.
If Leftists want to talk about the supposed inexperience of the person that may someday become president compared to the inexperience of their One, Messiah, top-of-the-ticket Presidential candidate, I say bring it on.
Is it just me, or do you also think Palin is going to take Biden to school come debate day?
Isn’t it rather hypocritical of the Left for saying that
Sarah Palin should be home raising her children instead of being in politics? I mean, these are the
people who pushed feminism, abortion and the idea
that all men (except for the touchy feely far, far, far
left) are raving chauvinists.
Actually, I have heard PLENTY of non-Dems/Lefties?Libs countering the “Too inexperienced” whine with Obama;s inexperience and other things.
The thing is, that;s really all they have. And that is pretty flimsy as well, won’t have any legs and will fall apart before she even speaks at the Convention next week.
Now THAT is a speech I am really looking forward to. Considering she had less than 24 hours to make the speech she gave this morning, did so without stuttering, stammering, “uh, Ummm”-ing and knocked it clear out of the park, one can only imagine just what kind of speech she will give with several days to prepare for it.
I’m telling you, the mags and rags are going to eat this up. She is the American Dream personified.
Someone already said it but it bears repeating.
Men want her,
Women want to be her
That alone will guarantee she stays in the spotlight. She has already had a big election where, if there was anything stinking up her closet, it would have been exposed already.
The momentum needs to be kept on exposing the rest of The Golden Calf’s stink and filth stuffed closet. There has been plenty that has come out already, and you just know there is plenty more where those came from.
Already the Hill-Dawg supporters are calling for investigations into how The Golden Cald handled the entire Hill-Dawg incident…they can smell the rat from miles away.
Let it play out and enjoy basking in the best decision McCain could have made for all of us.
PUMA’s still going strong against Obama and FOR Palin, and therefore, almost McCain.
News coverage opinion from their web site:
Is McCain Throwing The Election?
By Mike Savage
McCain has thrown the election. It is clear now with his choice for Vice President that he has no desire to win in November. Why else would he chose an inexperienced woman, whose only apparent qualification is that she won a beauty pageant in the 1980s? Why else would he refuse to say Barack Hussein Obama’s middle name? Why else would he run an ad praising Obama and congratulating him for winning the nomination?
If McCain had chosen Mitt Romney, a man with real leadership ability, real charisma, and real experience, he might have stood a chance. He could have made up for his lack of energy in confronting his opponent, his useless pandering to liberals, and his refusal to expose Obama’s leftism and inexperience. Instead he trumped inexperience with more inexperience. Obama, for all his far-left socialism, picked a running mate who is perceived as giving the ticket more experience. McCain, in defiance of all logic, undermined his strong suit by selecting a political neophyte who waters down his key advantage over Obama.
Of course, I can hear the calls already. Mike, you should give her a chance, she’s a real conservative. Mike, he’s just doing this because he knows he has to pander to win. Mike, isn’t it great that he picked a woman. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Picking someone because of their sex instead of their ability is the same kind of affirmative action insanity that the Democrats have shoved down our throats. We don’t want a panderer, we want a president. If he had chosen a woman who was a real nationalist with a real resume, I would have said, “Right on, John.” But McCain has dropped the ball, thrown in the towel, and raised the white flag. And a generation of Americans will pay for his mistake.
Praise from Caesar
Sorry GK…but Mr. Savage rates up there with the Raving Libs in my book. I have tried to listen to his program on various occasions, and every time I have had to turn it off because frankly, he is just as extreme as the Kos-ers and DU-ers, only for the other side.
And he obviously has paid absolutely no attention to what people have been saying today, or how fired up “The Base” became right after the announcement.
This is one yard sign that I just cannot wait to get!
McCain/Palin ’08!
Note to self: mow the yard this weekend and give it the well groomed stage it deserves…
This quote from Irish Rose’s link is indeed incredible….but this is what a lot of Hillary supporters are saying
Hot Diggity Dog gone!!! I can vote for McCain after all, and not against Barack HUSSEIN Obama! There’s hope for us yet. I hope B. HUSSEIN falls all the way down and never gets up until after January 2009.
GO McCAIN/PALIN ’08!!!
I don’t know Ret. I think Savage is a drunk after reading this. I know there is a possibility that the Palin thing can fade and it can look like pandering; but I don’t think so.
OK…you worried me there for a sec. I thought you were in agreement with that post.
I was thinking, “Gee…I completely misjudged GK”. I am completely relieved.
Of course some of the shine will fade after a few days. This is the honeymoon. however, I feel completely secure in thinking and believing she will stand up to all the tests she is going to be put through and will give lessons in how to be and act as a Vice Presidential Candidate and, in January and beyond…a Vice President and future President.
How telling that is!
I still think Mike Savage is really a liberal who pretends to be a crazy right winger just to pay the bills. Do people actually listen to him?
Palin won’t fade she’s going to knock peoples socks off…..
Tremendous buzz, Odopeys pick, hardly any, Odopeys speech, hardly ,except from the Love the Odopey morons.
Go Sarah Go!
McCain/Palin 08′
Right on man, right on!
Allow me to propose a toast…to sending a yellow stream down Matthews leg!
aj and Brian, you guys really should read a post prior to responding to it based on some preconceived notion. I’M A MCCAIN GUY! Obama’s lack of experience, coupled with his positions on several issues important to me, is central to my opinion that he would not be an effective President. I stand by my original assertion on Palin. She’s not qualified for the job, and I believe her to be a very poor choice.
GK, I’m not much of a fan of Savage, but I believe he has it absolutely right on this one.
At first when I saw the McCain banner at the top, I thought maybe I was on the wrong blog
I had a feeling you might be pleased Michelle, but man-oh-man.
I’m still not 100% but my hand is on the lever.
From doubleplusundead commenter ECM:
“I felt a great disturbance in the Force. As if a million Obamamaniacs cried out in torment and were silenced at once.”
*snort*
It will be interesting to see if Obamessiah keeps up the attacks on Palin’s experience.
She has had two years running a state full time. He had 143 days in the Senate (which means he may have worked something like 80 days in session) before he announced. Since then he has been a part time Senator.
I don’t think he can really afford to attack her on this front without exposing his lack of credentials.
..and still waiting to hear Palin’s stance on immigration.
That’s the cruncher for me.
No issues. Along the lines of what you’ve said here, my wife is a stay-at-home Mom with a master’s degree (just in case something happens to me.) I’m glad you’re involved with your children’s lives like you are.
I thought you were referring to women staying home with the kids as being “barefoot and pregnant,” hence meaning ill of women who weren’t working outside the home. I also thought you meant that Palin is a “real woman” for choosing to work outside of the home.
Hopefully that clears things up a bit.
She may be able to explain global warming is a hoax, which is half the battle…
Then, give her a chance before spouting the same tired crap the Dems are saying….
Get behind our pick, McCain guy.
McCain/Palin 08′
Everything I have heard about Gov Palins record is positive but I had initial and hav lingering misgivings that McCain has miscalulated the vote in not choosing Romney
dakine said:
Well true she has a nascent political career. Personally I like her; having researched her quite some time ago. Consider it’s not about what you or I think it’s about what the woman voter thinks and, as you know, they don’t think like us.
Ugly American,
You want to…hell, JUST DO IT, BABY!
But what we really need to look at is whats the lib media talking about? Pailin not whats his name’s speech last night
aj, I’m voting for McCain/Palin. I just don’t think they’re going to win.
GK, I hear ya. From the little I know, Palin seems like a very fine person. I just don’t think she’s any where near qualified to be VP. McCain’s handlers wanted a young, pro-life, culturally conservative woman and she was about the only one they could find. He swung for the fences, and you may very well be right that this could be the exceptional case where the VP choice actually impacts the election based on the “woman voter” thing to which you refer. Hope I’m wrong.
dakine said:
You’re wrong.
The way people have been savaging Palin today… and you know it will continue. There are a lot of angry Hillary voters who think she was mistreated because she is a woman. How the media treated a liberal woman is nothing compared to how they will attack a young, conservative, attractive woman.
The Left is playing with fire, and it will boomerang.
I am so happy, I am verklempt.
Maybe Trollman, but I don’t think so. This pick looks desperate. It also reeks of pandering. Query for you: would you feel the same way about this pick if everything else being equal, Palin was a he rather than a she? Identity politics?
ZOMG!!!! I so called this like 3 months ago!!!! Thank god I was right, I was was SOOOOO worried he was gonna pick Lieberman. I like Lieberman and all but that would have given the messiah the election!
My bad. I was misinformed.
Politically, I still think this was a smart move by McCain. It gets his conservative base behind him. The Obama campaign will also have a hell of a time figuring out how to attack her. Biden will have a tricky time debating her when you think about possible viewer perceptions. He’ll also have to be prepared to answer this question, that everyone knows will come up in the debate:
Senator Biden, do you think Governor Palin has enough experience to be president?
He better have a airtight answer prepared. During the campaign, I’d ignore her and concentrate on McCain. The media will take care of Palin. Some Hillary supporters are uneducated idiots who will simply vote for a woman. I believe the vast majority of female Hillary supporters will see that McCain is “peeing on their leg, and telling them it’s raining”.
Anyway, the next two months will be fascinating.
dakine said:
I disagree. I think the Biden pick looks desperate. Mr. New & Change & Fix Washington was forced to pick an old Washington insider – who voted for the war in Iraq, etc.
dakine said:
Personally, I don’t care that she is a woman. I don’t care if a politician is a man, woman, black, white, whatever. I like the fact that she is pro-life, pro-gun, anti-corruption, and that she is a real person. She doesn’t look or come across as a politician, she looks like one of us – she looks like a soccer mom.
But obviously, her being a woman will influence other people to vote for her. So what? Since many Americans (especially those on the Left) vote for silly reasons (she’s a woman, he’s black, she is related to so-and-so, he can give a really great speech), it is better that they vote for my candidate for a silly reason than for them to vote for the other guy for a silly reason.
Personally, I gag every time I hear this is historic just because of his skin color or her gender. Give me a break. I don’t see those things as issues anymore. I’ll be glad when we have had at least one of everything so hopefully (I know, not gonna happen) we can move past this petty stuff.
More than anything else, I am looking for someone who shares my core principles. That is the best leader.
I had been hoping for Romney, but Palin is soooo much better because she is a true believer – I don’t have to wonder about if she is really pro-life. That she is a woman that will likely pull in extra votes, how is that a bad thing from my perspective?
Does she not have enough experience? Did George W Bush have enough experience? Did Ronald Reagan have enough experience? I’m willing to give Palin the benefit of the doubt. Now if she really stinks it up with her convention speech and during the VP debate, then I will break out the Tums. But I think she is a straight shooter, and will be more than a match for either Biden or Obama.
I mean, c’mon, there is video footage of her shooting an M-16 for kicks. I think she is plenty tough enough to handle the likes of thugs like Putin and so forth.
No, no…I was commenting that the Obama supporters were making that slaim. They have been saying she is selfish for wanting a career and to become Vice President when she should be home with her children. I was showing just how hypocritical they are.
I believe a woman who stays home raising their children has it rough. I have an inside line on that as it is what I have been doing for a year now since retiring and waiting to go back to school.
However, I think it is and should be a choice and decision between a woman and her husband…not something forced on her or dictated to by sour grapes frightened Obama voters.
Mistressjustice:
Funny the above is what some conservative bloggers have claimed about McCain doing to conservaives…still its delicious to know that it is not MY LEG he is peeing on…just those legs that belong to the Hillary-ites’and Obamaniacs
….aahhhhhhhh!
The only thing I like about this is the current electoral college spread. It’s changed dramatically where Obama only has a 10 point lead. Many states that were questionable are heading toward red. Maybe Palin can get those blue collar guys and PUMAs. She’s got a lot of work to do. I’m behind her though; I’ve always liked strong minded women.
You have it, Trollman. But we shouldn’t discuss it. The other side is reading and we don’t want to help them.
They do know it. And they don’t care. They want to punish the DNC.
Hell hath no fury and all that.
Powerprosaid:

It doesn’t matter, they cannot help themselves.
I saw Olbermann tonight. He and his buddies were openly laughing and mocking her. They said she made Obama look like John Adams in comparison (experience wise). Then they laughed and snorted aloud.
Bob Beckel, on Fox News, said Palin made Dan Quayle look like Thomas Jefferson in comparison.
Keep deriding her experience, accomplishments, and intellect, folks. Hell hath no fury like a woman voter scorned.
This is so much better than “Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington.” Sarah Palin is already a proven reformer who took on her own party and won. (When has Obama or Biden ever stood up to their party?) I could see a strong Reform Movement growing around her during the campaign and hope she also campaigns with reform-minded Republicans from around the country to throw out the corrupt Democrats. (Maybe we’ll even have a majority and get some work done.) She appeals to so many because she is an outsider who has proven she won’t back down. And she is not a career politician who is indebted to lobbyists – she embodies the qualities of Citizen politician, which many of us idealists have been yearning for.
Second cinema citing – look at how ifectious the John Doe Clubs were in “Meet John Doe.” The public really started to think that they mattered – not just Washington insiders. I think Palin brings this out in many.
I HOPE Nobama gets a sex CHANGE. It’s the only card he’s got LEFT to play.
The basic bottom line is that Obama has petered out, and did so months ago. The conservative base has been ignored and unused by the McCain camp…they have untapped grass roots energy available to add for McCain’s candidacy whereas the Obamaniacs are tapped out and cannot add more…. McCain and Obama are tied…Palin’s pick as McCAins vP puts overdrive in McCain’s favor all he needs to do is shave 5% more voters (disgruntled conservatives) and its over…no other choice would have done that for McCain.
So let twits like Olberman, Beckel writhe over Palin….I would be nervous if they were not concerned…their suffering is a good thing.
I was filling my flask to take into the voting booth ,too! I expected to need a couple of shots of brandy before I was going to be able to pull the handle for McLame! I guess I will need less then one shot now! Sarah Palin is the best choice McAmnesty could possibly have made!
I’ve found nothing. And it’s probably because it’s not an issue for Palin, being in Alaska.
Don’t expect to hear what you want on this issue from her. She will have to conform to McCain’s policy.
I want the damned fence built. And I think that’s the only thing we can possibly hope for from a McCain administration on this issue.
For the next 4 years, we should work on aaccomplishing that, then we can address the rest of the problem in 2012.
Well, too much fun for one day. I am off to bed.
As for those that scoff her…consider the source.
Oh…Sorry….clicked too soon before I had a chance to say good night.
Good night all.
ROFL!!! You’re right. And I’m so happy to be wrong!
So true. The momentum of the campaign has changed dramatically. We have to steer and push it to victory now.
Hoisted by their own petard!
There is a God. And He is just.

Good night Atheling and to all
Night, love2rumba!
I told ya’ll this election would be a hoot. I’m not disapointed. BIO BHO.
And PUMA has lots of upset Hillary supporters:
and
When McCain taped his Thursday message to Obama, I believe the timeline says he had already offered the job to Palin at his Sedona house.
No wonder McCain sounded so gracious and then comfortably said, “We’ll be back at it tomorrow.”
Delicious.
Say after me everyone…”Conservatives united can never be defeated!”
.
This is going to be fun. History will be made, one way or another, and it looks more likely now that it will be the right history.
Even more Hillary supporters will go for McCain now. Obama is no longer a near certainty. Heaven forbid something happens to McCain, but I believe Palin would rise to the occasion. She has the right attitude. Everyone knows Obama is NOT ready for POTUS, Palin is only for the VP. Look at Dan Quayle.
YEY SARAH PALIN! YEY John McCain! Great pick! The 1st woman for the GOP VP? SCORE!

The first thing the democrats said was she has no experience. My question is what leadership experience does Joe Biden have? Has he ever been a military leader? Has he been a legislative leader? (Being a senator is not leadership) Has he been and industrial leader? The answer is no, as far as I can see he has never been a leader. All he has ever done is sit on the sideline and criticize those who do lead. If you ask the same questions about the “one” and you fine the only thing he has ever lead is a failed project. On the other hand Sarah Palin is the chief executive officer (governor) of a state whose neighbors are two foreign countries. In my book that is more experience than either of the democrats have.
Just got done reading the PUMA web site and they are over joyed and mostly voting for Sarah Palin. BOstill has no idear what is coming his way!!!
The youngest president was Theodore Roosevelt at 42. He replaced McKinley who died a week after being shot by an anarchist.
Anytime you can bring Star Wars into the discussion, I’m game.
As for foreign policy, all one needs to know is that it is a hostile world out there. And if you wish to gain respect you look out for your own interests, that of the USA. I am pretty sure that she has that in mind a whole lot better than the liberals. China didn’t need Bill Clinton’s help in their rocket program, but they got it anyway, does anyone think that selling out your country for a few bucks gains respect? Or being more interested in young interns than in foreign policy?
Sarah can speak off the cuff so to speak, I believe she will be the star in speaking and debating.
This is sad. Check out the kos idiots already going after the baby, the teenage daughter….

The libtards are squealing like stuck pigs, so McCain hasn’t lost his aim. I’d say it’s a bullseye right between Ayers and Wright.
I can’t wait for Biden and Co. to massively underestimate their opponent and start talking about experience and judgment. How can they even bring these things up??? I like Romney, but am thrilled with Palin.

Yeah, it is sad what people are doing.
But watch, if they keep this up, Palin will stand up for her children and lay the smack down on them that only a she-lion can when her cubs are in danger.
And Americans every where will cheer her on for it.
Unlike Obama & Biden who pretend to be “real, blue collar America”, she actually is America. The contrast will be stark.
she-lion = lioness
Duh.
Wow….Mccain just handed Obama the election. Can anyone name one foreign policy position of Palin. Her views on Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Al-Qaeda, Russia??? Any idea?? This is a dangerous time to be picking someone with ZERO stated thoughts on the greatest issues of our time. When asked about Iraq a few months ago she said she doesn’t have time to think about it too much, she is too focused on her state. She just destroyed Mccain’s argument that Obama is not ready to lead. Also, he destroyed his argument he puts country first. He put party and getting elected first.
Meanwhile Obama’s propaganda outfit is imploding O’Reilly mentioned this on the Factor. The Palin pick sent them into a tailspin. Hmmm….who saw this coming? well just about everybody.

I am sure we will find out her views over the next two months. However, she has proven her ability to lead in her executive positions as mayor and governer. What has BO led? Can you tell me that? And yes, we know BO’s positions about having tea and crumpets with the dictators of the world, but having a stated position doesn’t make it the right position. He is an empty suit, she is a proven leader who practices what she preaches. And, by the way, I doubt she was sitting in an America-hating racist church for 20 years. Puh-leeze.
Is this a record for number of comments? I’m impressed at the amount of energy this pick has generated, especially after Obama thought that his ego would fill up the universe during his speech. This won’t be helping MO’s kids get bedrooms in the White House!

Yes, I do. I have an idea that it isn’t going to involve saying “Iran is a tiny country & is no real threat to us”. It isn’t going to involve having tea with terrorists like the leader of Iran. Just a hunch…
Hey, chump : Since you are trying to convince us not to be feel comfortable voting for a ticket with an “inexperienced” (see note below) Vice Presidential candidate, why on earth would you ever consider voting for the ticket with an inexperienced PRESIDENTIAL candidate?
(…not to mention that her executive experience trumps both Obi ‘n’ Joe’s combined…)
LOL…this is hilarious. Yea she will fire up the base, but the base is alot smaller than it used to be. Maybe 20% of the country tops. Obama has been in the national spot light for nearly 4 years and people STILL claim they don’t know who he is. We are expected to find out all of Palin’s views in two short months??? Oh and thanks for pointing out what already thought NOBODY KNOWS HER VIEWS ON NATIONAL SECURITY!! Heres some help on her view one of the most important issues facing this nation: Iraq.
Great argument moron. Consider VP lends itself to on the job training, 143-days-Obama for President does not. Palin isn’t about “the base” it’s about the women vote which decides this election. Lol. Get up a little earlier in the morning if you can’t come up with a better argument.
Iraq is no longer a hot issue moron. Withdrawl dates have been signed. Get up to speed dude. Bush is gone. The women decide this election.
Reminder: of all the harping and teeth gnashing about Sarah Palin’s lack of experience (being a heartbeat away from the presidency):
Bill Clinton’s experience, prior to his presi-duncy, was that of a governor of Arkansas. I do believe Sarah Palin probably has a bit more foreign experience since Alaska borders with Russia and Canada and she is the Commander of their National Guard who fly near those border.
I wanted Romney but now think Palin is the best choice.
Yea, its a bit of a stretch, but I know where he stands on all of the issues. I’ve read both of his books, followed his career since 2004. I saw how he has handled himself on the world stage and in over 20 debates. I know he has a firm grasp on all the issues and I agree with his positions most of the time. Although he has been in the Senate for a short period time, he has worked across the aisle on substantive issues such as Ethics Reform, GI Bill, and Nuclear Proliferation. He represented his state senate district which has a larger population than Alaska, for 8 years. In the State senate he passed ethics reform, healthcare bill, education reform, major crime bills, etc. As for executive experience, I guess Palin is more experienced than Mccain than, as he has 0 executive experience. Although I guess you could say running a campaign is executive experience. How has Obama fared with that?
