The McCain VP choice: Not Huck, Romney, Pawlenty, or Palin(?); Palin buzz alive, multiple sources confirm

Is this it?
Scroll for updates…
It’s not Huckabee. It’s not Romney. It’s not Pawlenty.
Here’s the case for Sarah Palin. The rumors of a chartered plane leaving from Alaska have been flying around.
Hey, let’s just hope it’s not Juan Hernandez.
9:05am Eastern. Not Palin. She’s in Alaska, acc. to ABC.
Here’s the rest of the female shortlist.
Via the Dayton Daily News:
A Gulfstream IV jet owned by a firm in Kirkland, Wash., landed at Hook Field Municipal Airport late Thursday night is believed to have had Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on board as a passenger.
National media outlets have identified the first-term Alaska governor, the first woman elected to the position, as a possible vice presidential candidate for Arizona Sen. John McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
McCain is in Dayton today and is expected to announce his running mate sometime later today at the Nutter Center at Wright State University.
According to Rich Bevis of B&B Aero, the fixed-based operator at Hook Field, the jet, a Gulfstream IV which has the flight range to fly from Alaska to Europe, landed at about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
Bevis said the woman “was a real close match to Palin” and added that the flight crew that’s based in the Seattle area was told to fly to Anchorage to pick up their party and fly to Middletown.
Could it be Carly Fiorina?
CNBC has a source telling them it’s Palin.
Club for Growth gives thumbs up:
With all the talk about Sarah Palin being picked for vice-president, the Club for Growth PAC described the Alaska Governor as a genuine reformer who has taken on wasteful spending in her own state.
“At a time when many Republicans are still clinging to pork-barrel politics, Governor Palin has quickly become a leader on this issue,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. “She is a principled reformer who understands how badly wasteful spending has marred the Republican brand.”
Governor Palin has proven herself to be a reformer unafraid to take on the establishment, which she did early on when she took on the incumbent Republican governor of Alaska in 2006. Only nine months in office, Governor Palin instructed the state to abandon the notorious pork project secured by Alaska’s politicians, the $223 million “Bridge to Nowhere.” While many Republicans in Congress are afraid to antagonize Washington’s biggest porkers, Sarah Palin stood strong for fiscal responsibility. Palin is also a persistent advocate of drilling in ANWR and expanding America’s domestic oil supply in general.
Here’s the Palin for VP blog.
Another source tells the Chicago Trib that it’s Palin:
A Republican source confirms that John McCain has chosen Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate. Campaign officials, however, remain mum this morning.
McCain is expected to announce his choice at a rally in Dayton later.
Palin is the first woman governor of Alaska, elected in 2006. She was also the youngest ever elected at the age of 42. She is the mother of five children, the youngest of whom was born in April and has Down’s Syndrome. She ran on a clean government platform in ‘06 to defeat the incumbent Republican Governor Frank Murkowski.
Allah’s woozy.
Levin is on board.

Palin is solid on life issues, taxes, fiscal conservatism, energy, and the environment. Readers are asking me what Palin’s stance on immigration is. According to the On the Issues website, she has no recorded stance on immigration.
Here’s a case against Palin.
More reax from grass-roots conservatives:
“”Conservatives will be thrilled with this pick. Governor Palin is a down the line mainstream conservative who will energize the base and reach across party lines attracting women voters, independents and blue collar Democrats. With almost one fourth of women voters undecided, Senator McCain has made a brilliant choice by picking a blue collar conserviatve woman who will excite the Republican Party and lay out the welcome matt for independents and disaffected Clinton voters.
“Governor Palin is a terrific contrast to the all Washington ticket of Obama-Biden. She is a wonderful contrast to Biden, and a truly outside the beltway pick. Looks like the glass ceiling has been broken not by Hillary Clinton but by Senator McCain and Governor Palin.”

Anyone else find it as hilarious as I do that suddenly the Obama camp is deathly afraid of pro-choice female democrats going over to vote for a Republican ticket because of a strongly pro-life woman VP???
I’d so love to be a fly on the wall at the next Obama campaign meeting..
They will be having Pizza & Xanax..
Romney would have been a disaster. No one likes him. He has closed factories. His flip-flops are amazing. He was pro-choice and signed mandatory health care into law!
The American people, namely Republicans, saw him for the phony that he was.
Health care was veto proof. Romney had no choice.
The MSM is tripping over themselves trying to figure out a way to discredit Palin. CNN brought in some guy to bring up the “scandal” and the “investigation” she is under in Alaska. They they questioned her integrity. Now they are questioning how much time she would be able to spend with her new baby.
Socialist Liberals are going to implode trying to find ways hammer Palin while not insulting women everywhere.
Elation is great folks …
But … don’t make the mistake of underestimating the Libs on the Dem side …
Things just got much more interesting but more than ever it means everyone needs to get out and work that much harder to make sure this opportunity doesn’t go to waste …
New energy and vitality must not go unrewarded …
Everyone must work for this ticket to ensure that BO-JO and their socialist friends don’t get control of this country …
First of all, typing in all caps is ruder than rude when online. I guess your lack of substance needs a little volume.
Who said anything about me living in New England, you Troll? I have spent plenty of time in every, and I mean every, major city in the 48. I’ve seen more of America than you probably ever will, both urban and rural.
Again, where is that cite. Assertions don’t count. Again, there always have been fakers and hypocrites, especially when the gospel is ignored for “social gospel.”
Besides, your bit about folks converting to Islam in prison simply proves my point. They were never really Christians. See Mark 4
There is a huge difference between a “social” Christian, a faker, a hypocrite, etc. and a real, true, born-again believer. However, like most libs, I’m sure you’ve never taken the time to get to know a real Christian.
Dear GOP,
I fixed that campaign posters for you: Palin-McCain `08
Yours, Michigan

*boggle*
for all the talk of mccain’s less than stellar grades at the academy, he must have done excellent in war strategy. he has out strategized his opponent on this one for sure. i am sure they had a campaign strategy set for pawlenty or romney and the rug was pulled out from under them with Palin.
no talk of the Obamitler this morning..just a few short hours after his big speech. i am sure his camp thought they would be all the buzz this morning and through the weekend. nope, that belongs to McCain now! I am truly beginning to like this.
I am excited for the conservatives as it appears that Palin is a true conservative. I do not know much about her but from what I have been hearing I do think I will hold my nose and now vote for the McCain. I didn’t think I would say that, but have to look at where things are now with Obamitler and his facist handling of his opponents versus McCains class.
I’ve followed her background for years. She is a perfect pick.
Any chance we can move her to the top of the ticket?
Next time sambo
Saw this earlier and started laughing.
As we all know there will be more to come.
Amen!
CNN and MSNBC look like they are holding a funeral.
#393.
Nice try. Even Trollman can see that the “shallow and sexist” tag is a consideration regarding Hillary voters.
Regarding the debates with Biden, I see you use the silly conservative move of ignoring the rest of my statement. I’m actually saying that the dynamic could play out in any number of ways considering Biden’s style. Who knows how his debating tenacity will effect voters on a psychological level?
Wake up J.
393#304Come on….she is a lifetime member of the NRA, she plays hockey, she plays all sorts of sports, she is basically every MAN’s (and I reiterate MAN…not those milktoast poofters that were wandering around Denver for the last week that are all so in touch with their feminine sides) fantasy wife. She is the mother of 5 kids, the last one has just been diagnosed with DS, and she has every quality that we look for….AND she is HOT, a former Miss Alaska.
How on earth can the most die-hard chauvanist NOT like her?
Oh, you mean like all the Democrats that are voting for The Golden Calf simply because he is black and “It’s about time we had a black President”? Or all the Democrats that were going to vote for Hillary because she is a woman and “It’s about time we had a woman as President.” Gee, where would we come up with such an idea?
As for experience, she has far more experience than The Golden Calf does, and for them to say anything about can only denounce their own candidate. She has been a mayor, governor of Alaska, held executive positions, been very active in state and local politics…she has a far better resume` than The Golden Calf, and the more I think about it, the more I think this is the best idea that McCain has had in many, many years.
This also puts her in a very good position to become the Nation’s first Female President, a very real possibility within the next 4 years.
Dream ticket in 2012: Palin/Jindal!
That’ll give Bobby some time at home to straighten out the Pelican State.
They need to really watch anything they say. Remember, they and only they are the ones who safeguard women and they and only they are the ones who are “feminists”. If they would like to infer that a woman cannot have a career and a family, what is it that they are saying? Does that not make them anti-feminist and chauvanist? Would they not be, in effect, stating that “A woman’s place is in the home raising their children”?
i hope they do that, personally. They would be sinking their own ship.
But then again, since the entire party is an excercise in how to behave as perfect hypocrites, you need to hang on to your seat and standby for all the sexist and chauvanistic statements that comes out of Howard Dean, The Golden Calf and his entire campaign, Joe Biden and the Democrats in general. It will be an excercise in hypocrisy like you have never seen. Hate-filled, sexist, chauvanistic hypocrisy, allienating women for decades to come.
I’m still hoping for Condi to toss her hat in at some point.
I CAN’T WAIT until McCain’s first state of the union address. You know — when VP Sarah Palin picks up the gavel from the Senate chambers and SMACKS Nancy Pelosi in the face with it.
My collie says:
Exactly what I said this morning to my husband! They are so mad & sad.
Too bad!
The libtard response according to Fox was something like “The Republicans have just put the former mayor of a town of 900 a heartbeat away from the Presidency”.
Yup. Former mayor and current governor of the largest state in the Union. Forgot that part, did they?
