My initial reaction on learning Palin was the VP nominee was “restrained”. I knew she had conservative “creds” but questioned the strategy of choosing a largely unknown governor from a state with miniscule electoral votes.
I now believe she is the only intelligent adult in this race.
What time of day did they give this speech?
If it was after the Palin announcement, it is understandable why they would be out of it. After all, they had just seen all of their presidential aspirations flash before their eyes.
Now Michelle you play nice.
Palin needs to pick up where Hillary left off.
Palin needs to go after Obama.
I don’t think Palin needs to campaign against Biden.
I think what Palin needs to do during the debates is direct all her answers at Obama.
Show the American people that in fewer than two years she has more experience, accomplishments, and direct foreign relations (Canada, Russia, Japan, Korea) than Obama has in his entire political career.
Alaska trade surplus with these countries has grown substantially since she became Governor.
Let McCain deal with Biden they can stand on the sidelines eat ice crème cones and watch the Barracuda.

After hearing McCain chose Palin as his VP, he went straight to the bar. Can you blame him?
The only people in the US who really know Joe Biden are political junkies and lobbyists. The American public, but and large, only knows he’s been in the Senate for 36 years.
The more the voting public sees of Biden, the less they will like him. He is pedestrian as far as intelligence goes, but he attempts to make up for that by long, rambling oratory. The problem with that approach is, the longer he talks, the less impressive he is. And that is even before he decides to dine on his favorite snack – shoe leather.
And just wait until a few of his past gems get out in the mainstream:
-his response to 9/11 was to hand Iran $200 million with no strings attached to show them there were no hard feelings;
-His plan to partition Iraq into 3 separate countries;
-His vote against the first Gulf War but for the second;
-His belief that Iran needs to have nuclear weapons to satisfy their “emotional needs”;
-His close associations with Iran via a money trail that will have him dubbed “Jihad Joe”.
Team Obama’s biggestr risk with a Biden/Palin matchup isnot necessarily Sarah Palin – it is Joe Biden. The man will douse himself in rhetorical gasoline, light the match, and stand in front of a fan. That’s before Palin gets a shot at him.
I believe Palin could comfortably hold her own even with the likes of Obama himself. She’ll make Joe Biden seem as large as a hunchbacked dwarf who has just been kicked in the groin.

The most sensible thing Biden ever said was with regard to Obama during the primary season that the presidency did not lend itself to being something like “on-the-job training.” And he stood by those statements during a debate.
Now, they’re crowing about “inexperience” with regard to the Republican presidential RUNNING MATE. The hypocrasy is mind-boggling. By the way, she’s the ONLY person on either ticket with executive experience–something you might expect from someone who is running for the CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE UNITED STATES!!!
Sounds to me like she’s the ONLY one of the four WITH experience. I’m not saying that her experience has prepared her for the presidency, but its a hell of a lot better than a couple of socialist ideologues who are the alternative.

After watching the clip of Biden, I read this Newsweek article by Jonathan Alter and found it just laughable:

Someone today said that if the Democrats were happy they’d be dancing in the streets. They are not happy about Palin…and I hope they have the sense to feal some fear. I have heard,too, that Chris Matthews had the look of a deer in headlights.
I am going to enjoy this election, and am so glad I want to vote for McCain/Palin instead of casting my vote against Obama.

You could hear the fear in his voice, see it in his eyes. I thought for a minute… It seemed to me… no, I knew he was about to whip out a straight razor, and slash his wrists, right there in front of millions of viewers.Then Wolf Blitzer butted in and ruined everything. The insane gleam dimmed in Jacks eyes, he stated to gain some semblence of control, over his dazed, confused and frieghtened senses; then the moment passed. But boy!
