Is the MSM going to accurately fact check Biden’s statements and arguments this time around?

After all, Joe Biden is the guy who had to cancel his ‘88 Presidential run for plagiarizing his campaign speeches, revelation that he plagiarized law school papers and flunked a course, as well as lying about his academic credentials on the campaign trail.

Now we learn that Biden came from an unusually non-blue collar family, sans his father turning the Biden family fortune into the proverbial shoe string when little Joe was 10 years old.

    Fool me once…

Ok, the rambling of Joe Biden could be from drinking, has anybody checked to see if this has been a problem with him in the past? If so, maybe he is just a babbling idiot (my bad)(insert your own discription here)when he has had a few too many. It was very evident that it was NOT with a teleprompter. I am looking forward to hearing more from him with Gov. Palin. My bet is on her. She is classy and calm and I don’t think Biden’s bullying will have much effect on her. For some reason I just thought about the first grade “readers” we used with Dick and Jane. Hmmm, maybe we could utilize that theme with Joe and O? All the short and too the point sentences. Maybe that is all we need to describe their escapades??? Such simple comments for 2 simple people. Everyone enjoy Labor Day weekend.

At least they used to be. Where are they? Perhaps they are angry because black victimhood is going away.

For the last hour and a half we had a Coffee For the Candidates and I heard something GR__RR_ATE about Chicago.

A man here father was from Chicago, born and bred. He went into the Army in 1942, discharged in 1946 and moved to Arizona in 1947. So this man voted in Arizona from 1948 until he passed away in 1996.That is 49 years away from Chicago.

Doing research on his family he found his father’s name was voting in Chicago all that time and still was in 2002 as was his grandfather who died in 1952. Tough people in Chicago, you can’t keep them down even after you bury them I guess.

To Lindsay & brooklyn red re: Rush – I was watching him on the Dittocam (and had Fox on the TV at the same time), and I too was struck by how excited he was (and very impatient for McCain to finish so he could hear Sarah speak – though I thought McCain actually gave a pretty good speech for once).

I heard the same kind of excitement shortly before with Laura Ingraham – Laura365 member here :) – when she heard (via Fox IIRC) that Sarah Palin was confirmed as McCain’s VP pick.

As for Jonathan Alter’s patronizing and dismissive piece, one comment really got to me, on more than one level:

…But many voters will nonetheless wonder whether Palin should undertake the rigors of the vice presidency (and perhaps the presidency) while caring for a disabled infant…

Number one, isn’t this the classic “sexist” objection, that a woman can’t hold the Presidency (or Vice-Presidency) and be a mother? Besides, it looks like Sarah has a very good support network, beginning with her husband – the “First Dude” as she calls him. :D

And what’s with Alter referring to Trig as a “disabled” infant? When speaking of the several Downs syndrome children and adults of my acquaintance, the last adjective I would ascribe to any of them is “disabled.” Handicapped, maybe, but not disabled.

Anyone want to take bets on the Kennedy/Shriver clan objecting to this characterizations of Downs children (especially given their patronage of the Special Olympics)?

To Family Man – I like your idea of toasting every time Palin scores a point during the VP debate – we all should be very happy, very quickly. ;)

I suspect Jesse Jacknife and Al “this ain’t my suit” Sharpton were convinced to quietly keep a low profile so Oblabla could continue to try appeal to Mr. Whitey. As Rush said, that appears to be one of the reasons he chose Biden.

I don’t believe the left has any sensibilities towards people with Downs, disabled or handicapped, unless they can be used as political props.

I believe it was the 2000 election when a state democrat party (southeast somewhere) put out a flier saying, “Voting Republican is like being in the Special Olympics, even when you win, you lose”. It had a picture of a child running a race. I forwarded the link to the news article which included the flier to a co-worker whose daughter has Downs. He was rather hot.

As for the “First Dude”, I see several news articles saying he’s a snowmobile racer…as if they are referencing some country hick with a pickup and gun rack.

Hell it just makes me hope to see snowmobile races on the White House lawn.

And just who are these “many voter” of which Jonathan Alter runs his mouth? Jonathan Alter needs what some us call a beating; a severe, dedicated and violent beating. Jonathan Alter and Sissy Boy John Edwards both need a beating.

Personally, I find everything he said to be incredibly condescending, as if he were attempting to praise a child he hated.

Oh if only women everywhere would actually start listening and watching him as he talks about her. I have to have faith that they will eventually see past his glitz into what is obviously a very sexist person trying to look otherwise.

This video is evidence of what a lot of us said predicting the Biden veep positioning. The Snobama campaign wants badly to appeal to the “bitter clingers” that they picture being the blue collar workers being, so they offer a guy trying to appeal to them by being like them. It’s extremely cynical.

Biden’s so far removed from working class anything that he can’t possibly relate.

But if they keep playing it out, this could be very entertaining. He sounds like he’s drunk, because that’s how bitter clingers sound! What a goofball.

Questions 2: You said on C-Span that you finished in the top half of your law school class. How does that square with the Syracuse record that shows you finished 75 out of 86, or bottom ten percent of your class. Were you lying when you said you graduated in the top half of your class?
