Same as at the DNC: A bust.
Outside the Xcel Center, police used pepper spray and arrested five protesters among a crowd of about 2,000 participating in an anti-war march. The crowd was far smaller than the 50,000 march organizers had hoped for.
St. Paul police spokesman Tom Walsh said the five were arrested for lighting a trash bin on fire.
Separately, dozens of self-described anarchists wearing black clothing ran through the streets a few blocks from the march site.

I guess the lack of esprit de corps and motivation are big issues for those who try to organize slackers for protests.

It’s funny. The vast majority of protesters at the DMC convention were folks on the Left. The vast majority of protesters at the RNC convention, such as it is, are also on the Left. Why is that?
Oh yeah…. we have jobs.

It’s similar to why the “legalize pot” crowd can never gain momentum as a special interest group: by the time they show up at the polls, it’s Wednesday.

It’s pretty impressive that five anarchists had the organizational skills to pull off such a spectacular deed of defiance. I’ll bet all the other anarchists stood around the fire and drooled in amazement.

I almost, sometimes…sorta in a hazy way…remember one semester during my college
dazedays when, in between munchy and cotton-mouth outbreaks, we contemplated voting for Carter. Then we went to the Duck Pond and “set fire to the rope locker” instead.I outgrew it quickly. I wonder what happened to these idiots?
Oh yeah…jobs that have random “Whiz Quizes” pay much better than [and require grown up behavior] the “Do you want fries with that?” jobs. That’s right.
I’m thinking we have ‘The Mouse That Roared’ syndrome at hand here. These insignifcant professional (meaning they don’t have day jobs and are on somebody’s payroll to do their anarchist bidding) protesters are truly a marginal aspect of the whole campaign cycle – whose influence has only been magnified several thousand times by a very gullible media – who only want the worst to happen. Recreate ‘68 was a bust, yet from all of the news (well, so-called news) reports, they were going to be the next big impact in the election cycle. A small band of burn-out dip-sh!t clowns trying to levatate the US Mint. Yeah – maybe Geraldo should see if they know where Al Capone’s fortyne is buried too. My point is that we collectively need to start ignoring these kinds of numb-nuts and concentrate on electing a president.
As for their penchant to want to gain attention by causing disruption and interfering with other peoples rights to peacefully assemble (read legitimate conventioneers) – see if the inside of the county jail would suit thier purpose.

There’s nothing that says “war protest” like the wanton destruction of private property. They are like street thugs, but without the organization.

I was in that play in high school and have seen the movie. That whole concept was to declare war on the USA so they could lose and get their country rebuilt.

The “RNC Welcoming Committee” had bags of feces and urine in a recent raid by police. Of course, St. Paul liberal city council member Dave Thune is defending these far-left zealots.
I guess that bags of human waste is just free speech. Reports indicate that they also broke windows on several lots.

I’m watching CSPAN (for lack of any other programming) right now and I see among the protesters, a light blue flag on which a single white star is centered.
Call me crazy, but wouldn;t that flag be the same flag in the other anthem of the Confederacy, “..Hurrah for the bonnie blue flag that bears a single star”????!!!
As we all notice about the MSM though, the top story is the fact there are protesters there, and yet that wasn’t the primary talk when it came to the DNC. Not that I am surprised, but just saying.
I am now viewing a haurange by ANSWER featuring a Mike Prysher, supposedly an Iraq War veteeran. Given the parade of such “veterans”, I wonder if this gentleman is cut from the same cloth, he’s waay too polished.

Is it just me or does it not make sense for anti-war protesters to be violent? Also, where is the justice? Justice would be forcing these scumbag sub-humans to EAT those bags of feces they so happily throw at decent people. However, nothing will happen to them. Maybe they will be detained a couple hours and let go to do it again. Off the subject but there will be no consequences for the slim that started the rumor about Sarah claiming to be the mother of her daughters child. When their lies don’t work they just make something else up but if there was punishment (slander charges) maybe these rumors wouldn’t be flying so freely.

Saw some very edifying footage of a protester in St. Paul who failed to obey a police command and received a fountain of pepper spray right in the face. Their reaction was … cartoon-like.

I have seen these loonies on TV breaking windows, tying up traffic, setting fires, etc. and it has disgusted me. But seeing it in my own city is way too up close and personal. It really breaks my heart. It’s as if they had come to my own front yard and thrown rocks through my windows. I want revenge! I want these vandals thrown in jail and kept there! Surely the damage they are doing is enough to warrent a felony conviction, isn’t it? This is NOT free speech, it is criminal, and it’s time for severe penalties. I don’t want them in jail for a few hours, I want them in jail for a few years!
I just got back from downtown St. Paul at the RNC, and it is mostly really boring. Don’t let a few knuckleheads get the attention. Delegates are friendly, the protesters were friendly, cops seem to be in a good mood.

Obama, All Brag No Bounce
The thugs in black you are watching protest in Minneapolis and Denver are a standard feature of big anti-war protests: black bloc anarchists. They hail from several sources: the SDS, the usual radical lefty groups. A lot of them are stupid high school kids. They were a presence at every big anti-war demonstration in DC.
Mostly they try to make faux stand-offs with the police. Usually after 30-60 minutes their nerves falter and attention wanders and they meander off. Sometimes they run in big packs while the police are distracted by a demonstration and break windows. Now and then, they will encounter a small group of counter-protestors in feeder demonstrations and beat them up.
None of this is ever covered by the MSM because it would discredit the anti-war movement they support.
