Daily Kos tries to cancel P.D.S. alert

Photoshop: David Lunde

We noted the nutroots’ deepening Palin Derangement Syndrome over the weekend, topped by a diarist at the Daily Kos who’s been spreading disgusting, bottom-of-the-barrel rumors — picked up by the excitable and shameless Andrew Sullivan — about Gov. Sarah Palin’s youngest child and attacking one of Palin’s daughters as the mother of Trig.

The Free Republic fights back with photos of a very pregnant Gov. Palin in late February. I linked to an April blog post from an airline passenger who met the pregnant governor on a flight from Fairbanks. It is unbelievably surreal that this dirtbag Kossack rumor has to be debunked.

Even another Kos diarist is now trying to undo the damage. Accompanied by the photo the Freepers found, the diarist headlined a post this morning: “Sarah Palin Baby Story Ender.” The diarist insists: “Unless someone has counter evidence, we can drop this crap now.”

The diarist is arguing with his/her fellow tinfoilers about whether Palin is wearing a “fake pregnancy suit” and commenters are still insisting that Palin’s daughter was showing and the governor was not. And in an update, the diarist — no doubt feeling pressure from the paranoid zealots in the cesspool — is polling readers on whether the post should be deleted. Nearly 30 percent of readers think the post attempting to debunk the rumor should be deleted.

Truly, truly unhinged.

You really can’t cure stupid.

It’s not hard to find photos of the family where the daughter seems to be showing and Mom does not seem to be showing. The photos are not necessarily from 2008, but from the ages of the kids, they can’t be from very long ago.

There are several different pictures taken on different days of the whole family. The ones I saw were part of the video on three YouTube videos, by three separate people.

At the very least, there is something strange going on here.

DING DING DING (0+ / 0-)

None of us have any clue whether there’s any truth to this rumor. This diary doesn’t come close to answering the question.

It’s one picture taken on an uncertain date, and the poster initially got it wrong as to who took the picture. There are other pictures posted here by others that raise serious suspicions. I’d like to compare the dates of those photos w/ the date of this photo, and I’d like even more to see additional photos taken in the interim.

Team McCain made an impulsive last-minute decision b/c they saw their #s cratering during the DNC. I have little doubt that the decision will come to haunt them. Whether this story is what haunts them most of all remains to be seen.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I see things that never were and ask why not?

Had an accident turning into a prenatal clinic in February, and looked visibly pregnant when last seen in December 2007. The date of that photo mysteriously backdated to a year previous–just today. Nothing strange or whacky here. Yup.

I think they wish the taint stopped at mere stupidity. It makes them look far worse than stupid – the kind of despicable haters that would fit better in Nazi Germany than the United States.

The other problem is that they have opened Pandora’s box here. Obama has not issued one of his famous “denouncements”, and in failing to do so, they have now given the green light to the same treatment of Obama’s and Biden’s families. A sad day indeed for politics in this country. With families nowt “in play”, few people will have any desire to involve themselves in the political process.

You see, these wingnuts think most Americans think like they do, and that this nonsense is going to go somewhere with average Americans. What they don’t realize is that the bulk of us are honest, decent, truth-seeking people who take a very, very dim view of such hysterical, deranged, desperate thrashing about. So let them continue with that delusion and eventually they will be fully revealed as the defectives and degenerates that we know them to be. This needs to be shown to all those who think that what they hear on sites like that are true, simply because one says it and the others pile on.

Josef Goebbels would be so proud.

One of his most famous dictums:

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

Apparently, the ignorant Kossuck does not know history.

    Others that are apropos:

“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly – it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”

And they call US the fascists….

“In politics stupidity is not a handicap.”

    -Napoleon Bonaparte

“Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber.”

    -Plato

    “Modern political warfare” my tookis.

Keep ‘em stupid and you’ll keep them in the Democrat party.

Yup, Dave. Also, when you use a link from here to there, the site (all sites, actually) knows where you came from, i.e. the ‘referrer site/page”.

If it drives them even just a wee bit more into panic and paranoia it’s worth it for that, if nothing else.

Works the other way around, too. Michelle can check her referrer log to catch incoming links from Kos or other sites. But we only get peeved or fired-up hereabouts on misc topics and avoid tin-foil hat type stuff, so it’s not nearly the entertaining zaniness the Kos Kidz are used to taking in at their home turf.

BSU has some real liberal knuckleheads there I remember last years dust-up about the Veteran’s Day 21 gun salute and how the administration was worried about causing a panic about an announced tribute to our troops. One reason I prefer he go back to ISU next year to finish his pre-Pharmacy program.
