The dregs: Democratic Underground’s Palin nickname contest
Reader Monica M. sent me a link to the Democratic Underground’s latest thread for commenters to come up with nicknames and posters to slime GOP Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — and then to “spread [them] all over the ‘net.” There are now nearly 100 filthy, hate-filled responses and counting. Among the “nicer” entries: “Cruella,” “Gidget,” “Governor Jesus Camp,” “VPILF,” “Fertilla the Huntress,” “Iditabroad,” and “KILLER PYSCHO FUNDIE BITCH FROM HELL!!”
The link should have come with a blood pressure warning. These people make Palin-bashing prenatal care expert Alan Colmes look like a saint.
Peer with me further into the liberal sinkhole again and behold P.D.S. in full bloom. Note that this site is raising money for Barack Obama and that an ad for their fundraiser appears at the top of the thread. Is Obama going to accept their cash? Know your enemy:

To further define Sarah Palin, we need a unified nickname.Words are important. Symbols are important, and we need to all get together on a cute nickname for Sarah. I’m not so clever with nicknames, but people that are please place your suggestions here. After I have enough I’ll post a poll.
Someone called her “Caribou Barbie” which I thought was pretty good. But I honestly feel we need a poll to vote for the best suggestion, and we can then all use it. Perhaps it could spread all over the ‘net.

I’ll admit, I find a few of them funny, even embracable in a “damned right she is, and proud of it!” sort of way.
Caribou Barbie being one.
Sometimes the key to dealing with stuff like this is to laugh and turn it around. And sometimes the answer is to give the joker a good bust upside the head.
My gut feeling is Sarah’s just the woman to do both.
This is a takeoff from an old joke. The answer is “the bag”
Let us, however, not succumb to name calling. It is sooo KOSish.
First she wasn’t vetted at all. Now she wasn’t vetted properly. Yet, Obama was not vetted and the Left is silent. Hypocrisy and lies abound.
TOS knows this, 30. He just likes the “I know you are but what am I” defense so much he uses it whenever he can.
At least we have two clear cut choices summed up in two sound bytes.
1. “God Damn America” – vote Obama and Biden
2. “God Bless America” – vote McCain and Palin
There’s a big difference between facetiously advocating something that could never happen and maliciously smearing a person.
I’d like to see all the protesters at the RNC sentenced to a good caning and some prison time in Malaysia. I also think you are an idiot incapable of understanding the idiosyncracies of intelligent conversation.

The thing that struck me most as I saw that screen cap is the banner ad from the Obama campaign soliciting cash. How does the vulgarity, venom, slander, profanity, nastiness and repulsiveness of DemocraticUnderground.com further the lofty crusade for “A new politics” that Barack has been blathering about?
I didn’t know American Politics Journal was even still around. If the subgenius who did that “Beauty Queen…Or Natural Born Killer?” thing had a brain in his/her head, s/he would remember that the motion picture Natural Born Killers was about a serial killer of humans, not polar bears. What even they don’t dispute is that Palin is against the slaughter of humans in the womb and — unlike Obama — the slaughter of inconvenient newborns.
Off the meds or not, it doesn’t matter. These are whackjobs from another dimension.

Assuming for sake of argument that Palin’s vetting process didn’t address things like her daughter’s sex life and her husband’s driving record from 20+ years ago, if that “reflects” on McCain’s decision-making process then what do Hopenchange’s longer-term and more recent associations with Ayers, Dohrn, Rezko, Wright and Pfleger say about his decision-making processes?

As concerning whether or not Mrs. Palin was “vetted” – what difference does it make? If John McCain opened the phone book and chose a name at random – he still came up with a good choice.

I would have to agree with BrianNY. While there are photoshops depicting BO’s superiority and aloofness, I don’t see any that are as distasteful and asinine as those posted about Palin. Perhaps we are just expecting too much common decency from those with no moral compass.

I did the same thing once. I think I lasted about an hour and a half. As soon as I voiced support for the President and the war in Iraq i was banned. The reason I was given (at least they were honest) is that they didn’t want republicans commenting on their board.
