Right on cue, the Beltway snobs dumped on Gov. Sarah Palin’s brilliantly crafted and delivered speech tonight by immediately pointing out that the speech was “written for her.”
What officeholder — from mayors to the President — doesn’t have speeches written for them?
Now, they have a problem with political candidates who are skilled at reading a teleprompter and delivering great soundbites and revving up large crowds?

Heh, it has been fun watching the MSNBC commentary.
At first, they all looked deflated – like, “What are we gonna say to that?”
Then they found their take on it – it was too sarcastic, belittling, and nasty.
MSNBC is bitter. Brian Williams reads a list of talking points critical of Sarah Palin – really fair & balanced.
These folks are really subdued, unlike the Republicans.

I felt bad for Gwen Ifil, who was covering the speech (only for a moment).
She looked as though someone had just told her she had a terminal illness.
Only one reason for that – Palin delivered!
I knew it would start right up again. She hit a home run and they are scared. There was a former Clinton adviser on Fox right after the speech. and he had nothing bad to say.
It was a good night, Palin knocked it out and I found out the Misses and I are going to have our first child! What a night. Happy Happy Joy Joy!

I surfed during the coverage tonight. Whoever was speaking, the media would have about one good “fact” at the bottom of the screen, and one bad “fact”….such as, Carly Fiorina being “ousted” from HP.

I don’t recall mention of any, not of ANY of the Kennedy problems at the bottom of the screen while ‘ol Ted made his appearance.

Guess Obama can’t get good help.
Two reasons for that I’d think:
1) The Clinton wing are bailing and leaving them to twist in the wind.
2) The Kennedy wing no longer has the bench strength of talented writers.
3) Our hosts can write as many of us can but ideology aside; would you want to work in the same organization where Michelle Obama is stalking around? She has achieved a miracle. People now find Hillary Clinton warm and sympathetic.

I was beside myself with pride, happiness, outright joy at what she had to say, how she said it, how she presented herself and her family and for taking the high road instead of going after the scum in the way they best deserve.
I pulled my 17 YO out of the shower and had her sit there in her robe, wet hair and all, and watch her speech. I told her that this would be one of the most important speeches in Presidential Election history. When Gov. Palin was introduced, I was actually able to look at my daughter and tell her, “This is what you can become. This is what can happen if you make all the right choices and do the right thing.” She sat there, listening in rapt attention, only occasionally asking for clarification, or laughing at some of the conventioneers’ hats. (Not to mention the shot of some woman’s breasts that some cameraman was apparently ogling when they cut to him and he apparently had to pull back rather quickly. I missed it.)
I had never felt that way about having her or any of my daughters watch Clinton speak. I knew that this was going to be a positive, uplifting speech that my daughter would be able to learn from…to learn how to be a strong, intelligent, self-made woman and not have to listen to the endless litany of how she is a victim simply by the fate of her gender.
I was actually choked up on a few occasions. I was also incensed…incensed every time they cut away to show a close-up of her daughter’s fiancee`. I feel so sorry for this man who is being treated so poorly just because he fell in love with her daughter, and all the foul things these creatures who dwell in slime are and will do to him, his fiancee` and later, his child.
She has proven to be all we have said and more. Her voice did not waver, she did not look nervous or apprehensive, she did not stutter, sputter or stall in her delivery. Sure, there are people paid to help write their speeches…just ask Chris Matthews about that…but you cannot write a speech like that if not for the person delivering that speech. It was her words, her ideas, her life that was simply put in a succinct manner. If these fools want to make a stink about it, let’s then call on all of The Golden Calf’s speech writers and have them take a bow for the schlock he delivered last week.
Tonight merely demonstrated that she is more than ready to lead, and she could lead this ticket all the way to victory in November. She is class, she is strength, she will be my and our Vice President without a doubt.
You go girl. Thank you Gov. Palin. Thank you for being who you are and for giving my daughters a positive role model FINALLY after all the whiners and victims that have been paraded before them by the Liberals on the Left.

Brit quickly pointed out to an Mort that all major speeches are written for candidates…that this is standard protocol, making Mort look all the guilty in his stupid attempt to belittle the speech. I think Mort is getting some under the table from the Obama campaign. Or he’s just an assclown.
What a great speech, she nailed Obama, Biden, Reid, the MSM, all to the wall. Perhaps one of her smartest aspects of all was NOT attacking Pelosi. One of her biggest roles will be to draw working moms, so by leaving Pelosi out she didn’t sound hypocritical. Brilliant.

Brit Hume had to mention that everyone has speech writers and there was no need to keep mentioning it. I believe both Mort and Nina made a point of saying someone wrote it for her. Rove observed that in order to deliver it so well, she had to have a hand in it. Plus Obama’s statement mentioned the fact that Bush’s speechwriter wrote her speech.

We are witnessing the birth of the next generation of conservative leaders. As a man I am endlessly proud of Sarah Palin. Not only that but proud of John McCain for nominating her. God knows I disagree with McCain on many things, but not on the fact that our country comes first and that our future is more important than vain speeches.
