Cut the “someone wrote the speech for her” crap

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 3, 2008 11:49 PM

Photoshop: David Lunde

Right on cue, the Beltway snobs dumped on Gov. Sarah Palin’s brilliantly crafted and delivered speech tonight by immediately pointing out that the speech was “written for her.”

What officeholder — from mayors to the President — doesn’t have speeches written for them?

Now, they have a problem with political candidates who are skilled at reading a teleprompter and delivering great soundbites and revving up large crowds?

Now?

They fear. They hate. They squirm.

Keep bringing it on, Gov. Palin.

Cassy Fiano jumps in with an “I Am Sarah Palin” video.

I suspect you’ll be seeing a lot of these on YouTube. If YouTube doesn’t take them down first:

***

Lorie Byrd: “So much for the redneck beauty queen mayor of a pissant town.”

The two lines that resonate with me:

“He had time to write two memoirs, but no major legislation or reform.”

“Biden and Obama love to say they fight for you … but there’s only one man in this race who has actually FOUGHT FOR YOU.”

In fairness, after the beating she took, she could have come out and read a press release and been considered a success. But she came out swinging, and proud of her record, her family, her country, and THAT’S why this pick is awesome.

I also have a feeling that Michelle O is not so proud of her country anymore after tonight. Her man has been called out by a woman who is smarter and more principled than he could ever hope to be. Team Obama On Palin: “Written By George Bush’s Speechwriter”

Barack Obama’s campaign responds to Sarah Palin’s speech:

“The speech that Governor Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Governor Palin and John McCain want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90% of the time, that’s their choice, but we don’t think the American people are ready to take a 10% chance on change,” said Bill Burton, Obama campaign spokesman.

Do these people even know what it is that a Speech Writer does? No, they do not just put a bunch of words together and hand it to the person to read. Those people are called SCRIPT writers.

A Speech Writer takes the person’s own words and arranges them in a way that makes them sound coherent, so that the person refrains from falsehoods, redundancy etc. They are more like proof-readers.

Therefore, Sarah would have given them what she intended to say in her speech and the speech writer would then write it out in a cogent form, making sure that it also kept with McCain’s message.

This is what the Liberal Hack known as Chris Matthews used to do for a living prior to becoming a Liberal Shill on a cable news channel and what Ben Stein did prior to becoming a Hollywood mega-star.

Therefore all this garbage about Gov. Palin having one is nothing more than a ploy to smear her to the uneducated twits and trolls on the Left who take everything they are told by their Liberal Masters at face value and refuse to educate themselves, feeling that they are already all-knowing due to being Liberals.

Now contrast that with what would have happened if the teleprompter would have screwed up with either Biden or The Golden Calf up at the microphone. How do you think THAT would have worked out? How many “Umm, Ahh, Err’s” do you think he would have launched into the moment it went blank?

How many racist, sexist, drunken, slurred words with enduring claims of love for MichelleO would have spewed out of Biden’s mouth, while the whole time sweating profusely, cursing the Union Stagehands for having it fail and praying that someone save his saggy butt as soon as possible?

If this report is true, and the teleprompter had issues, then it was not noticeable in the least.

She was PERFECT. She did not stutter, stammer, sweat, or at anytime sound insincere.

I have not felt this excited, this energized, this proud of anyone in our party giving a speech since Bush stood on “The Pile” with all my Brothers searching for all my Lost Brothers after we were attacked and sent into war against the New Fascism disguised as Islam. Before that it was in 1984, standing outside on the lawn in front of the California State Capital building, listening to Ronaldus Magnus speak, shaping my beliefs with hope, trust, honesty, strength and integrity.

If McCain and his managers have any modicum of intelligence, as we know he does, then he will have her out there in the forefront delivering as many of his speeches as well as her own as they can. The more people see her and listen to her, the more she will win them over, except for those Patchouli Oil damaged brains of the Uber-Libs who usurped the DNC.

Unlike The Golden Calf’s speech which was the same tripe that has been read to the country for the last 40 by every single Democrat that has come down the pike.

We already have a Dem run House and Senate. What is it, exactly, that they have done since getting placed there two years ago? Are Liberals and others planning for TGC really that gullible and devoid of rational thought not to see through this? Do they really think that the only thing holding them back from completely reworking something that isn’t broke…namely our Government, is George Bush?

I hate to remind them, but Bush was elected twice, and alos has an approval rating alomst twice as high as their own. Do they think that continually stating that people listen to and agree with President Bush is actually going to get Republicans to get rid of their morals and calues and suddenly whip on over to the Obama Tent? Obama promises “change”, and then places a man “Only a heartbeat away” who is as entrenched in the everyday wheelings and dealings as anyone is. He has been in Washingtom for almost 4 complete decades. How is THAT “change”.

And to add insult to injury, he showed the Democrats as well as the Liberals just how much his contempt for them and their desires are by choosing someone for his VP that has some of the lowest votes in the Primaries, was booted out of his first run for President for blatantly lying and pandering, attempting to ram him sown all of our throats.

No thanks. While I was going to suck it and up and vote for John McCain as a protest to keep the Socialist out of office, I am now as fired up as can bee and can’t wait until November when I can put the first woman into the office of vice President of the Unites States…just a heartbeat away.

This isn’t attacking the presence of the writer. It’s attacking a writer who worked for a politician who is loathed by two-thirds of the population.

The inability to recognize the distinction is willful ignorance because you so badly want to believe Governor Palin is being attacked on all sides for no reason. Nevermind that she was in a secessionist party, wanted to ban books from a public library, is a proven liar (She was a Bridge to Nowhere supporter), and has faced corruption scandals.

It’s all about Bristol and her speechwriter. Riiiight.

(BTW, I thought the speech was ok. She got in some great zingers, but she didn’t really flesh out what she would bring to the ticket. She just talked about McCain’s heroism. Boring. McCain does that on his own any chance he gets.)
