Just posted my critcism to US magazine a few minutes ago…keep fighting…never let them get away anything
What an awesome idea, James! Perhaps, convince a few students that bias does exist in the media and how to recognize it.
However, I don’t need to write that much verbage on the two covers. I’ll just sum it up like this:
H. Y. P. O. C. R. I. S. Y.
What does it say about Palin that she would grant US an interview?
Perhaps you didn’t read the Us promo of its cover article, which is a string of quotes from Palin-bashers, not an interview with Palin.
Does one have to give an interview to run an article on them? Is there some protocol for magazines I am unaware of?

From Meghan McCain’s blog, I see that the Palins and McCains had a photo shoot with People Magazine.
Wonder if we’ll see another hatchet job or a contrast in journalism.
The hypocracy is unbelievable!!! Joe Scarborough is so disgusted because other politicians’ childrens antics have been hidden and/or surpressed by the media as a general rule. His ethics wouldn’t allow him to out these other cases (which I applaud), but I’m thinking it’s because there’s a strong woman behind the story (Palin) and the Dems/Libs press is running scared.
I’ve stated on your blog several times before that I am a “Pro-Choice Republican” and proud of it, but what IS Pro-Choice if not the freedom to make either decision. I’ll probably be blasted, but it’s MY belief and I WILL stick by it.
I am totally disgusted by the hits this poor woman-child is having to deal with publicly as well as the normal stresses that she’ll be dealing with having a baby, let alone so young. I now say a prayer daily for Bristol and her family to stay the course with strength and dignity. Shame on the MSM and poisonous blogging population that are perpetuating this “crime” of unethical attacks on a 17-year-old AND her supportive mother!!! It’s a private family matter that is NONE of their business!
Sarah Palin scares the hell out of the left because she appeals to so many of those they have been able to rely on in all-male (including Hillary) contests.
However, this trash is what passes for journalism by the left when they can’t compete in the arena of ideas and they have nothing else… so they make stuff up and run with it…
It’s not the first time and it sure won’t be the last. Sick people…

I would like to add a thought somewhat in tandem to #8, whose comments I appreciate: Clearly #8 DOES actually believe in choice, but clearly those PDS’ing on the left only believe in ONE kind of choice.
Professors like the one mentioned above are far and few between. We need more that have the courage to make his students think.
1. Beyond noting the obvious bias, notice the picture of Palin. That is not a good picture of her (not that she can really take a bad one!). Absolute twising and bias.

I was glad for the McCain/Palin announcement for it gave me the opportunity to vote for someone instead of against someone. The US news media, of all venues, is more interested in viewer share/circulation than it is on the accuracy or appropriateness of what they cover/publish. The greater ‘outrage’ the better the figures to support their advertising rates. The only way to fight such a sleaze publication as US is to protest to their advertisers, letting them know that because they advertise with xxxx you will not purchase their products. The supporters of Jericho had a unique idea to register their feeling with the executive offices – they mailed packages of peanuts (in reference to Gerald McRay’s “Nuts” comment) – I would suggest perhaps gerbil food would be fitting to deliver to US. Perhaps the vast unpaid research department could provide the publisher/executive office address so that we won’t have to touch, let alone purchase, the rag to obtain it.
#11, I was pro-choice until a few conversations with liberals made me realize it meant they wanted the government to make the choices. As we march towards federal health “care,” I see it as only a matter of time before the laws demand that undesirable fetuses be aborted.

OK, We got it. Most of the media is biased. Us magazine is moronic at best. Reading such rages is like watching The Lifetime channel. ( Isn’t Rusty into the that?) A dear friend of mine is an editor of a respectable newspaper. We’ve had this discussion about the problems in journalism many times.
He points out to me that the people who work for newspapers come from english major backgrounds. Their minds work from the emotional side of the brain. They have a difficult time keeping to the facts and staying away from the sensational. There are obvious exceptions. Sara Palin has her degree in journalism. When you listen to the MSM remember where they’re coming from and it will be easier to stomach.
The libs are like desperate movie vampires caught trying to get to their casket and a cross or holy water is blocking their path and daylight is fast approaching…
They are striking out in every evil way they can think of to destroy the Palin family and McCain’s choice for VP.
I’d suggest that all of the Palin’s (except Sarah) head for a nice secluded cabin in the mountains of Alaska with no television, newspapers, or any other communication devices and wait this storm out. I’m confident Sarah can take care of herself and emerge stronger than ever.
You know the funny thing is that I have never bought this rag. I have fingered through it when some of the people that I work with bring it with them to work, and it’s there.
Yes, I know, it’s the danger of loving to read. Sometimes in desperation that it’s there.
I am NOT a fan of Hollywood. I think they are some of the sickest, most deranged people that we have in our country, and yet when this rag, or TMZ get’s a hold of them, I feel sorry for them.

Every word of both articles is true: Palin’s home life is a mess (pregnant unmarried teen daughter) while the Obama home life is idyllic.
It’s a sign of desperation. The Lame Stream Media is attacking a special-needs baby, and a pregnant teen.
As the father of a special-needs child, that REALLY burns me!
Actually, it’s worse than that. I’ll agree that a core defect of modern-day liberalism is its arrested adolescence, which is what happens when one of the key gateways to adulthood — the governing of emotions, instead of being governed by them — isn’t passed through.
But the problem with many of today’s “journalists” is that because they mix emotionalism with the notion that they’re going to “change the world” through their craft, they fall into the trap of becoming that which they profess to hate:
– To fight “liars” they resort to deception, dishonesty and distortion.
– To fight “fundamentalists” they take on a black-and-white view of the world.
– To guard against “The creeping Fascism of the Religious Right” they adopt a thuggish disposition toward anyone and anything they disagree with.
– To “educate uninformed American voters” they become willfully ignorant propagandists.
At a company I used to work for, I spent some time on its “Diversity” committee. One of the women in that group — a flaming liberal — often accused native English speakers of being intolerant by “Raising their voices” when a non-native speaker was having trouble understanding them. Yet — unsurprisingly — you see the same behavior on display by the “liberal” media: When stupid Americans don’t understand from their betters how they are supposed to think and vote, they resort to increasingly shrill, strident and hostile emotionalism to “get the message across.”
The magazine in question is a marvelous case in point. “Hopenchange is peace, love and puppies! Palin is evil. EVIL! Don’t you understand?!?”
Look at the bright side (if there is one):
Most readers of “Us” would never vote GOP . “Us” is preaching to the choir.
Sacre bleu! The tabloids are running a cover story about a family with a teen pregnancy it tried to cover up? I can’t believe it!
Why hasn’t Us run a cover about Obama’s pregnancy scandals? Because there are none! Do you expect Us Weekly to have a cover story linking O to Tony Rezko?
WOW! What skill! In only three days US managed to compile such a magnificent cover piece and get it on the stands for all America to see! Wonder who helped them cobble together this steaming mound of feces so quickly?

I’d like to add to this that Obama’s existance is a result of scandal. His mother (Ann Dunham) was not married when he was conceieved, and her circumstances are very similar to Palin’s daughter.
The difference is that Federally subsidized abortions and its availability and legality were 180 degrees different in the early 1960’s and today. What are the chances that Ann Dunham aborts her “mistake” rather than having to marry a man who would abandon her a few years later?
When you see how the left treat Sarah Palin’s daughter’s situation, you’d have to think that if they had been able to get ahold of Ann Dunham in 1961, they would have tried to pursuade her to abort their own SAVIOR. Ann Dunham was a posterchild for Planned Parenthood, and Barack Obama should thank his lucky stars (or whatever it is that he prays to) that abortion was not nearly as available as it is today.
Meanwhile, Obama touts Planned Parenthood and it’s active destruction of tens of millions of his African-American brothers and sisters. The man has no soul.

I stopped looking at tabloids, other than pointing out flat out lies on their covers, years ago. They’ve tried to ruin so many celebrites by making up the most horrible lies, and now on top of it they’re adding conservative politicians to their slime time.
