Good riddance, Kwame
Obama superdelegate and Detroit corruptocrat mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is in court this morning, negotiating a plea deal:
Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is expected to appear in court this morning to enter a plea that should end his mayoral tenure and put a coda on the text message scandal that has dogged him for months.
But as of 8:40, Wayne County Circuit Judge David A. Groner was wondering where the attorneys for the mayor were. Meanwhile, TV helicopters were showing activity at the Manoogian Mansion where the mayor lives.
A previously scheduled 9 a.m. meeting was set in regards to the mayor’s two felony cases and it was expected that Kilpatrick would use the hearing to enter his plea.
Even if a deal was not set, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is expected to lay out the details of the final offer she had made to Kilpatrick. Detroit News reporting partner, WXYZ/Channel 7, reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. that a plea deal had been reached.
According to sources, the deal involved guilty pleas to two felonies, four months in jail and as much as a $1 million in restitution. Kilpatrick would then be swept from office and lose his law license, at least temporarily. Lawyers huddled with Kilpatrick at the Manoogian Mansion until 10 p.m. Wednesday. A moving van was spotted outside the mansion along the Detroit River on Thursday morning.
Barack Obama was unavailable for comment, but we do have this on the record:

That’s the good news. The bad news is that the citizens of Detroit will elect someone just as awful. Except the new mayor will carry their own personal cell phone, not a city issued one.

Well, using Chicago as a standard, Kwame DID do an “outstanding” job for Detroit. He cost the city millions, lied, cheated, fought removal by “the man” (woman in this case, as the governor of Michigan is female) and generally acted exactly like the “entitled” corrupt black politicians of Chicago, who Obama patterned himself after. Many of those are in jail too.

I would think that a thorough review of exactly what these two gentlemen spent, performed and resulted for their local communities is in order.
I would also like to know what Barack Obama’s definition of “renaissance” is?
I used to be proud to say I was born in Detroit, but with these kind of shenanigans and the deplorable destruction of the school system I haven’t mentioned it in quite awhile. This is a step in the right direction. IMHO though, the details of what this ‘Thug’ tried to do to officers of the law (whistle blowers), using his position of authority should be published and reported by the MSM across the country. This is only the tip of the iceberg of Detroit corruption.
I do believe that should be, “DO let the door hit you on the way out” (and don’t collect $200).
I hope the judge gives KWAME an extension on serving any time… Than he can work FULL TIME for B. HUSSEIN on his campaign… I know B.HUSSEIN will put in a GOOD WORD for the mayor, he would be such an ASSET…

He was also re-elected in the Democrat stronghold of Detroit even after he was caught using city funds to buy a Cadillac Escalade for personal use and to pay off his personal credit cards. And no one was prosecuted when a city clerk was caught filling out absentee ballots herself and counting them as votes.

This is what they can truly identify with. One needs only see how it is reported how over 90% of the black voter support a candidate based solely on race. Coming from Detroit I can attest to what Ted Nugent reports about Detroit; buildings that were boarded up after the riots in the 60’s, are still boarded up today!

4 months for FOUR FELONIES? The absolute minimum sentence in NY for the least serious felony is ONE YEAR. WTF?
A liberal politician in a town ruled by liberals. I’m surprised he even got brought to justice at all. You are right, he should have received the maximum sentance allowed by law, for violating the public’s trust.
I’m sure he could move to Washington D.C. and run for mayor there. They don’t have any problem with felons being mayor. Besides Barry is getting too old to run for Mayor any more.
One of my co-workers had a daughter who worked in the Detroit area a few years ago. She lived in a nearby (non thug infested) suburb. On her way to work she never fully stopped at a red light due to the carjackings / robberies in the metro area–California stops instead. She went through an electrically controlled chain link fence gate at work. A guard with a 12 gauge shotgun escorted her from her car into the secured building. The return trip into the safe suburb was the same way.
Pity the poor decent people trapped in the dangerous thug infested city. Ex mayor Kwame (and others) failed miserably in doing their main job–protecting the citizens. Good riddance to him.
Possibly the area could be cleaned up by Charles Bronsen–using the DEATH WISH approach. San Francisco did the same in the 1850’s–the vigilantes did the job the corrupt police wouldn’t do. Or a real mayor could be elected for a more modern (and humane!) solution to Detroit’s problems.

CBS2Chicago.com reporting today that 125 people have been shot dead in Chicago this summer.
They also report that this is about double the death toll in all of Iraq over the same time period. Can you believe this?!

Where does Obama get off criticizing our Military’s efforts in a war zone like Iraq, when the community he claims credit for “leading” is currently exceeding in death toll?

Knowing he was on his way out he gave up to 17% raises to his family and cronies. Chief Ella Bully-Cummings (one of the raise recipients) retires as of tomorrow. It’s nice to know that the RATS are deserting the ship left and right, some after being unjustly enriched.

Unfortunately, I work in Detroit and pay city taxes here, but I do not get to vote here. The culture of corruption and denial with this guy is so ingrained, he probably still doesn’t get it. Even as he pled guilty today, he was blasting the media for presuming his guilt rather than his innocence–hellloooo… He just needs to go away. The citizens of Detroit are so ignorant, however, that they would probably elect him again if given the chance, a la Marion Barry (sp?). This guy is a thug–I have experienced it personally. With that said, Cockrell will be much better, and David Bing (ex-Piston, successful, updstanding businessman) will be better yet if he still decides to run next year.

Kwame’s already predicting a comeback. There is precedence for it you know. Marion Barry. Kilpatrick is off to prison for mere months, when it should have been for years, after admitting to committing felonies while in office. Then, he is able walk into the city conference room to ‘thunderous applause’ and announce his intentions for a comeback. He cost the city of Detroit millions of dollars in legal settlements over his lies under oath, and the best these people can do is cheer? What sort of mentality have we wrought in cities like Detroit?
Finally, a convicted felon should no more be eligible to run for office than they are to vote.
The “thunderous applause” was from his family, many of whom are on the payroll, and the rest of his ne’er do well thugs and cronies who are sucking off the public teet. He cannot run for office for five years as part of the deal.
Funny thing is, as staunch of a conservative as I am, I don’t view it as a Democrat thing or tie it to Obama, even though I would like to. It’s certainly not a race thing either, despite his attempts to separate the races and pull us 40 years into the past. Besides, anyone who replaces him will also be African American. No, my anger runs to him as a person–this is a guy that just plain and simple thinks he’s above the law–even with all of this, he still doesn’t get it. He pleads guilty and then turns around and says that the Democratic Governor, who sat on her hands forever and did nothing, like she always does, had some vendetta against him. What an absolute idiot. He is the racist, for still thinking, after all of this, he can fool the citizens of Detroit, 90% of which are black.
