I see white people
Yesterday, I noted that moronic Washington Post piece decrying the whiteness of the GOP convention.
Reader Daniel G. points to this photo of the working media. He e-mails: “While this is a good story on the media defensiveness over Palin, I couldn’t help notice that the attached photo illustrates that the MSM is the LAST group that should be tut-tutting the GOP on its alleged lack of racial diversity!!! Why, they look just like the GOP!”

Kettle. Black. wait…kettle.white
All trained at fine Ivy League journalism schools, no doubt.
And only 2 women!
Hey what’s up with that?
Where the white women at?
They may look like the GOP but I bet there is not one among them.
Sweet.
Yeah, they all look real happy to be there. That’s the last time they draw straws for an assignment….
Oh, I am totally going to Caption That. (Yeah, blatant self-promo).
Have they looked at the Bush administration lately? A stark contrast to Clinton’s if you ask me.
and a lot of Fruit-Computers too.
pot. kettle.
Hey, I take offense to that!
Someone on a local radio show was critizing Palin for her lack of Ivy League college degrees, all I can say is Thank the good Lord she hasn’t been brainwashed. She still has common sense to cut through the bull the liberals spew.
I guess you have to pick on hair and earrings and such if you can’t find anything real to pick on.
Apple laptop…the sign of a buffoon. (Sorry if any of you use an Apple, but it’s the truth and sometimes the truth hurts.)
And they’re (almost) all using Apples, too. Just like us commoners!
This was submitted via a Mac. But I swear it’s not mine!
Over 10,000 subscribers to US Weekly have canceled their subscriptions in the last 2 days!!!!

They aren’t white. They’re left.
Thats a good one. It’s a computer people, you paid to much to use it for work. What a fad.
.
Ah #16, that is sweet justice. Keep speaking conservatives, they just might get the message.
Do we need to step out in the alley, I may have to show you what hurts…

On the same topic….
I watched all of the networks during the coverage since I think it’s important to hear all sides. I don’t think I saw a single non-white person in the crowd pans when watching MSNBC, ABC, CBS, or NBC. I think I saw one black man at CNN. Now granted, I was channel flipping so I could have missed it on those channels. But still, it is riduculous to not show an accurate picture of the delegates. I will admit the delegates were mostly made up of white people. However, if you watched some of the other stations you saw plenty of non-whites. Are we really at the point where even pictures of the crowd are biased? I think I just answered my own question.
Let’s see…They don’t like her hair, or her glasses (out dated). They think she’s unqualified because is took her 6 years and 6 schools to get her degree at a non-ivy league school. She has a 17 year old daughter who messed up, but is fully taking responsibliity for her actions. She is blessed with a DS son that will bring joy to her life and constantly remind her of lifes important lessons. Yeah, I have “nothing” in common with her. She’s evil for sure.
And now she has a favorability rating higher than Obama’s.

I see eight self-important imbeciles. What am I missing?
You can’t force anyone to do a job that they don’t want to do or are incapable of doing for one reason or another. I am not capable of being, nor do I want to be a rocket scientist or a surgeon or a politician. Forcing me to try to do it because of my skin color is just plain dumb!
That’s what affirmative action is about and after all these years we’re still waiting for it to start working.
That wasn’t as bad an article as I first thought. The party does need to attract more African-Americans and other minorities. The party has had some bad breaks in that regard but it must rise to the ocassion.
The bounce has started…McCain/Palin will leap frog over Obama/Biden by Monday. Sustainable? Let’s hope so.
Why do I look at the picture above and I have that Sesame Street song running through my head:
“Which one of these is not like the others?! Which one of these just doesn’t belong?! ”
Now, try and get that out of your head too for the rest of today…
Thanks MM! /sarc lol
I laughed out-loud when I read an item on Newsbusters wherein Meredith Viera, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews actually have the gall to deny there has been any media bias against Republicans, or that Sarah Palin and her family have been unfairly attacked by the press. So I doubt even this visual will have much effect on getting them to stop and reflect on their own overt discrimination before commenting on the non-existent but perceived discrimination of others.
There must be something wrong with my viewer—I keep getting these funny, pentagram thingies and goat horns floating over the photo… is that a ‘666′ on the one’s forehead?
Depends on how we do it. There are two ways:
- the way the Democrats do it by playing the race and victims cards and pandering or;
- the right way, by educating people why the Republican party has better solutions for the things that concern them.
We can pander, and unfortunately it looks like McCain and company are continuing to do this with hispanics, promising people that “if you elect us we will do (a), (b) and (c) FOR them.” Or we can try to show people that the ideals and approaches of the party are better ways to deal with their concerns.
I think most Republicans oppose pandering — at least I hope we do.
Sorry BlameAmerica. I come from a mixed marriage. My wife uses her Fruit-Computer and I use a real computer.
I know that Fruits are a better platform…but engineering applications were sorely lacking for so long…oh well. My apologies
BEWARE THE RABIDSQUIRREL WHO INVITES YOU TO THE ALLEY!!!
He’s gonna run up your leg and….er…um……
“Chuckling!”
LOL.
Actually I was just going to take my Windows laptop out there and show it to you. I’m getting a really bad signal in here and I cant get anything done. I might need your help.
There are 8 journalists there. 8.
Which is probably the number of black people at the entire RNC, too.
As with all liberal leftie institutions, it’s “do as they say, not as they do.
Is there anymore to say?
How many black and brown people do you see on Univision or Telemundo?
insert chirping crickets here.
C’mon now – they are serious, professional journalists at the Republican convention. (the stories are pre-written and they are playing solitaire).
And when I do, First I’m going to pimp slap somebody so hard that their momma feels it, THEN I’m going to own me a Lumber Yard
Ummmmmm, a lot? Or should I say ‘Mucho’?
They must have glossed over this website in all their earnest investigative reporting on the GOP.. /sarc off
http://www.nbra.info/
Or more likely the Mainstream media thinks of of all Black Republicans this way..
They must have missed this organization:
http://www.nbra.info/
Maybe they’ve never heard of the National Black Republican Association?
Yes, I realize those are fightin’ words to most Democrats..
And what’s wrong with white people that any level of “whiteness” at the RNC is a crime? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
A battery of lily-white journos can justify — to themselves, at least — that the act of criticizing Republicans as being “too white” gives them a moral press pass. It’s just a variation of the “In, but not of” liberal guilt-avoidance mechanism with which they can feel morally superior to other Americans by condemning America.
It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it’s a cop-out. But it makes them feel good about themselves, and that’s what’s most important to liberals.
That should be: The party needs to attract more Americans.
Only the left cares about skin color.
Ya know…when I took statistics, I learned that 8 can be used as a representative sampling of a given population. I believe that 8 would be valid for a ±4% accuracy of a 10,000 count population.
Now Omu…I know that would require that you take off your shoes to count…but please…try to keep up
Well stated. I abhore AA. I can not understand how creating race preferences through AA solves discrimination problems. As you pointed out AA is nothing but a venue for pandering and promises of things that may be a detriment to others. Sure racism exists, but it is confined to small pockets these days. Not some institutional racism that demands quotas. It is up to the individual to prove they deserve a job or position. Not the freaking gov’t. I have been disappointed in the GOP’s lack of will to stamp out AA and quotas lately. It is all part of the “compassionate conservatives” attempt to hijack the party. Which is why we have so many in the party supporting amensty, AA, and entitlement programs these days.
I see felons.
The GOP is not a closed club to people of color. The Democrats have spent the last 25-30 years trying to make us look like backwoods red-necks and hooded klansman, ready to rape and pillage in every black community in this country, and then have the audacity to suggest that we do not “look like America”! Another dose of liberal hypocrisy.
We are the party who freed the slaves, who defeated the Southern Democrat racists and worked for the Equal Rights Amendment. Klansmen were for the most part, Southern Democrats, not Republicans and that is fact.
Look at the accomplishments of people of color in the Bush adminstration. These same accusers of the GOP, are the ones who so indiscriminately call Powell and Thomas, “Uncle Tom’s, and Rice “Aunt Jemimah”. Their self-serving racist attitudes are going to get a come-uppance. I, for one, cannot wait.
Maybe it is time for a modern review of the 1st amendmant right to ‘freedom of the press’, to make sure that today’s media is operating as the framers intended. Can you imagine the outcry? We can review, re-interpret and try to change any other amendmant through judicial fiat, yet the only ‘right’ recognized to actually be unalienable, is the right of the free press. Was this ‘god-given’ right placed in the constitution to allow the press to lie, to skew news to their political agenda, to smear those they disagree with and then have a place to hide, with no repercussion?
While constitutional meddling should always be a slow and meticulous process, there has to be some accountability. Felons lose their right to vote and to own or possess firearms. Freedon of speech is curtailed, and rightly so, with the no yelling “fire” in a crowded theatre example. There are other examples, but the precedents are in place to support accountability for those who abuse their rights in order to bring harm to other people, or to the government.
That should, and it is definately about time, for it to include the press.
The media, like the DNC, likes to put on a show about diversity but fails to put it in practice. During my brief stint in the j-world, I know that minorities (leftist and race/gender conscious types only need apply) are placed there just to say “hey, we’re diverse” but have a hard time moving up. If you look at the top of the DNC or the media world or Hollywood, it still resembles a country club from 1937, only with some leftist womyn thrown in there for good measure.
On the other side of that coin, maybe if more minorities had the gumption to stand up to the culture of victimization and get over “the man is out to get me,” we’ll be more than happy to welcome them into the ranks and not just as window-dressing tokens.
And when we do have people of color on our ticket (like Mike Steele), the left smears them and calls them an Oreo.
I’ve been watching parts of the convention on the Dish Network’s direct channel #211. The cameraman had no problem at all finding people of color in the crowd. There have also been several on the stage; witness how many speakers greeted the crowd with “Buenas Noches!”
And that’s a good thing how?
No, you misunderstood. That was “Can you bring the nachos down here?”
Well I for one really like nachos, with melted cheese and jalapenos… Oh, wait…nevermind.
LOL. I think we are on the same page. I would not hold up that act as “see look how inclusive we are”. Rather I put that under the “see we gave up, and accepted immigrants who chose to come here but won’t join in our common culture or language”. I think you know which camp I belong to. If that is raaacists or intooooolerant. Then to bad. I am sick of the pandering whimps.
No asians or fat people or dwarfs.
Hypocrites
Talk about lack of life experience. Those little pups aren’t even out of their 20s. Were they even alive when Teddy drowned his girlfriend? Reconditioned by Marxist government public schools – this is what
theywe get. When I was younger my parents told me that the future was trending to Mexico and they made me take several years of Spanish as a foregin language in school – I on the other hand wanted to learn French (no judgements there please).
To this day, since I do not have other people nanny my kids or take care of my lawn for me, the most I got out of my education is that a) Jamacha Road in San Diego is pronounced Ham-a-shaw b) I watch Telemundo only for the “articles” and c) I know the difference in carne asada and taco al carbon.
Take that you homeschoolers!
Oh, and I can sing Feliz Navidad like Jose Feliciano
Might be three.
I see liberal white people…
Once again, it is the left that brings the racial condiment to the mix. This country was formed under the banner of “unity,” as in The United States, and a more perfect “union.” Why should we, the most blessed country in the world, want to destroy that unity, by embracing “diversity?”
Diversity means division. Like many other liberal notions, the definition has been altered to fit the left’s pre-consceived notion that unity is a code word for racism…
Liberal definition of Diversity – “an acceptance or tolerance of racial differences.”
Conservative definition (mine)- Variety of backgrounds and experiences.
Conservatives embrace our differences, while liberals categorize them. Conservatives strive and have striven to be part of a “color-blind” society. Liberals have continually used color as a weapon, against a modernizing society. They point to education as the key, but unfortunately, since they have controlled our public education system, the ranks of their constituency of the undeducated has grown, while the ranks of the less grievance-stricken continue to live the American dream.
AA is totally unAmerican and unFair …
of course it was nothing but the best Ivy League schools for both Obamas… ( poor uneducated rube Sarah Palin probably didn’;t have the grades or SAT scores to get in)…
I’d love to see the Obamas SAT scores and their high school transcripts… last I checked you reallly had to get over 650 or 700 college boards (in their day, today, probably over 750) and straight As in high school to get into Princeton or Harvard… if you were white of course…
I believe MichellO herself says she didn’t test well.
My not-a-joke joke:
Q: What do liberals call a black Conservative?
A: Uncle Tom, you dope!
I personally think that is why there are so few black Republicans. Who’d want to be called Uncle Tom or a sell-out all of the time? Those that are, I applaud you for standing up for what is right.
Very difficult to do when one’s weaned from family on up to community and church to see Conservatism /Republicans as evil (almost literally) heartless people who are stooges of corporations and have Daddy Warbucks as an idol. The Dem’s slanderous poison in the black community runs deep and thick. For a black person to break out of the Dem mold on their own is to invite strange looks from family and community which questions your judgement/sanity to the core in the most painful way. The best place to evangelize blacks into the Repub party/Conservativism is ironically in colleges, away from the pol peer pressure of community and family. Examples of American Indians and Hispanics coming aboard en mass might help inspire the rolls, but in any case it’s going to take a long long time for any significant black Repub crossovers, what with the media taking itself on as the ‘champion’ of black sufferage.

Naw…the GOP has more women.
Interesting picture. Let’s see here:
ROW 1: White man, White man , White man, White woman.
ROW 2: White man, White man, White woman, TOKEN!
Yep, real picture of diversity there MSM.
I disbelieve your statistical analysis here, but the more salient point is that the picture does not represent a random sample, it represents a sample chosen to illustrate a larger point.
I have a strong suspicion that one reason there aren’t more black Republicans is that they identify that party with idiots like you who assume that when African Americans succeed, they only did so because they had some unfair advantage. A little respect goes a long way. So does your contempt.
On September 5th, 2008 at 3:29 pm, BemusedLib said:
Isn’t the assumption, liberal that is, that minorities cannot succeed unless there is government intervention? Case in point: assigning hispanics to “bilingual” based on a surname and not their ability to speak English.
Are blacks treated similarly, except on the basis of their melanin content vs. what they actually know? Maybe, maybe not, but you can see why people might assume that.
Also, black republicans operate “under the radar” because they are treated as “Uncle Toms” etc. by so called black leaders and their ilk. So don’t expect them to be too quick to reveal it.
that’s right…all us poor dumb bastards think that Clarence Thomas, Alan Keys, Condi Rice, Colin Powell and all the rest only succeeded because they has an unfair advantage.
Seriously, does it hurt when you think? Because it hurts us when you attempt it.
RetFireman–More HOT women. Women who wear lipstick and high heels and can still kick your ass in darts. My husband thinks it’s sexy when I gut a fish with manicured nails.
BemusedLib:
#73.
You were correct to disbelieve my stats. I erred in that 8 defects would have been the upper limit of acceptance on a 10,000 unit population to avoid a 100% inspection.
One of the hallmarks of an ethical engineer. He admits his errors, corrects them and makes note to avoid a repeat performance.
I do stand by my opinion of Omu having to take his shoes off to count beyond 10 however. Sans shoes, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find that he could count to 23.
[evil giggle]
Melanin.
You want to see white people?
Go check out “Our Leadership” page on the DNC website.
Exclusively white, and all male except for the Madame.
That’s enough to get the coffee and do the clean up.
Am I in trouble?
They tried to get Jayson Blair but he was elsewhere.
bemused
No, it’s just the minorities who do tend to be hard-working traditionalists and not whiny liberals who look for an excuse or a hand-out earned by someone else.
Oh, a lot of white men whine, too.
