Oprah vs. Sarah-cuda
How does it feel to lose your place as the most electrifying woman in America, Oprah?
Not good. Not good at all.
The battle between Oprah and Sarah Palin been playing out all day on Drudge.
TMZ has Oprah’s denial of the Drudge item on internal feuding at the O Show over booking Gov. Palin.
Wonder if she’s crying her eyelashes off again today?

Come on, O. Conquer your fear.

But, I’d love to see her on the ‘View’ to put those leftist gossips back on their heels… and Elisabeth Hasselbeck giving her a high-five!
Oprah knows how to make a buck. I’d be absolutely surprised if Palin wasn’t booked on the show within the next 45 days or so. She also knows how to conduct a solid interview. I would book Palin, like yesterday.
And lo, unto this world another tweeter game was invented by PKAmmoTroop, much like Sarah Palin Facts.
Here’s what I heard:
Joe Biden said, “You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din”.
Of course, others may have heard something else.
Can we do that without a community organizer? My little town doesn’t have one.
Isn’t this a Hate Crime???
I don’t know if Oprah has been anti-McCain like Rush has been anti-Obama.
Pro-Obama Oprah is, so I see your point.
I think Oprah is a pro, and is too smart to alienate her conservative fans with a nasty interview. Hopefully, we will get a chance to find out.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has her job in the MSM because she can NOT competently advocate her cause. Just like George Will. Just like Peggy Noonan. Just like Joe Scarborough. Just like…
I honestly don’t know how she is since I never watched the show. I base my argument on the fact the she has been out campaigning for Obama. That leads me to believe that any interview she conducts with Palin will be badly biased.
Anyway, need to run and take care of my dog. Time will tell what happens with this issue.
If Sarah did appear on Oprah, it would be an ambush interview with all the questions written by The Obama Campaign.
Go vote in the CNN poll about which convention made its case better. They spam ours, we can spam theirs…right?
Bustin’ out with Kipling! Way to go!
2nd sight, I guess someone might think Biden was talking to Obama. By color, not character.
Oprah? Oprah who?
Oh well, it doesn’t really matter. Sarah will be busy preparing for her inauguration as Vice President.
Palin-Obama Comparison Chart
Then delete your cookies and vote again. And again. And again. You’ll be just like the democrats!
I guess I am one of the few who doesn’t want to see Palin tainted by an appearance on Oprah.
BTW, Oprah hates white people. Kanye said so.
No surprises here. I never have cared for OW. I respect her talent and her pulling herself from a tough start in life, but her opinion means dittily-squat to me.
Who cares!
How about a campaign to unsubscribe from the O Magazine?
Why would Gov. Palin want to go on that show? I don’t know that I would volunteer to enter into obvious hostile territory. Gov. Palin can reach all the thinking women via another venue. Let Oprah interview the lefties. I am Oprah’s demographic, but I haven’t watched her show since she started worshiping Barack.
I’ve only partially watched one time - but based on that (admittedly small sample), I’d say you are only partially correct - We wouldn’t know if Elizabeth Hasselbeck could competently articulate anything. What I saw was any time she opened her mouth, she was shouted down before even a full sentence came out. All I could tell - whatever it was, the rest of the ?cast? were on the opposite side.
for what it’s worth Oprah said (according to Fox News)that she would be happy to have Sarah on after the election.
I think that means Oprah has made her bed and now she has to stew in it–she became too personally involved when she had Obama on all those times (kinda slobbering all over him–well with her eyes anyway)and advocating his candidacy–and she certainly has said who her chosen one is by saying Sarah could come on after the election–sheesh—Hell would freeze over before I would go on Oprah if I were Sarah—and I won’t be watching anymore either (probably only watched about 5 times a year anyway)
That’s five times too many.
For Oprah, in the overall sense, which other shoe is on which other foot and what really is her motivation?
We should let it go. No protest, no boycotts. Then when the Democrats trot out the idea of re instituting the Fairness Doctrine again, we can always point out that a proper implementation of the doctrine would require that Oprah be FORCED to give air time to McCain/Palin.
I don’t think the Left will like the idea of a McCain administration, in control of the FCC, dictating what politics are to be shown on the airwaves.
Oprah.. just another Limousine Liberal.
Oprah hasn’t voted in a primary since the 80’s–this has nothing to do with politics, I say it’s clearly a race thing. If Palin was black, I would bet you, she’d be on the show. Michelle Obama and Oprah are feeling the pain and the victim, just like old times. I am sure Whoopi isn’t happy either.
The people crying racism the most are the most racist, I truely believe that and I don’t like the fact that Oprah is leading foolish woman to hell with her ridiculous new age beliefs.
Oprah is another one, I wouldn’t care if I saw again. I wish she would come to the truth about Jesus but her bragging and materialism are such a turn off. She needs help, like the help she and others tell her she is giving.
Oprah upstaged by Palin! Hillary upstaged by Palin! Barack upstaged by Palin! What a treat. None of the libs saw this coming.
It’s her media empire, it’s her right to choose the guests on her show. If she wants to wait until after the election to have Palin on, fine, we have every right to wait until after the election to watch her show or pick up her magazine again.
I just have this feeling that somehow we’d be the ones portrayed as petty partisans.
Of course we’d come off as being the partisans. Those guilty of the trait are the first to accuse the other side of having the trait. It is a way of deflecting attention away from the truly guilty party.
This just gave me the impetus to cancel O Magzaine, which I’d been growing very weary of due to their continuous bashing of the current administration, even in health and fashion articles. Now, let’s get FoxNews.com to drop their US Weekly home-page links.
I agree that Palin’s appearance on the show diminishes Palin. In fact I don’t think she should be appearing on any entertainment-oriented shows.
No matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, it’s still a pig. No matter how rich, or how adored, or how much a person has “influence”, a liberal is a liberal is a liberal. That is to say they have no scruples, no pride, no sense of fairness, no backbone. Rather than featuring on her show a WOMAN who has, in 5 short days, become a role model for millions of young girls and women, gasbag self annointed “Queen of the World” Oprah would rather stick to boosting her dreamy little Obama right to the White House (she hopes). Is there a liberal out there with even an ounce of character????? That is of course a rhetorical question.
The way some people idolize them, I think Oprah and Obama are two of those “false prophets”.
I hope Sarah never appears on Oprah — she certainly doesn’t need her.
And I hope Sarah never changes her hairstyle, either.
I love Sarah just the way she is!
You go, Governor!
ABC News jumped in:
Is Oprah Biased? Host Won’t Interview Palin
I hope the Governor doesn’t do the TV 4 Dummies circuit.
I wanted to post on Doprah’s site, but used an alternate address and it wouldn’t take it. I would’ve posted one of my favorite quotes of all time regarding why no one cares who Hollowood airheads prefer politically -they pretend for a living!
MM, wondering if this whole “Oprah thing” is a moot point. My understanding is the campaign honchos are keeping Palin on a very short leash and she won’t be available to the media at all. Prepared speeches at campaign appearances and the VP debate with Biden is all we’re going to get if we’re to believe the latest reporting on the matter. Probably a smart move in light of her almost complete lack of substantive knowledge regarding just about every issue in play. If a guy like Bobby Jindal had been nominated, on the other hand, the campaign would have him on every news show possible.
I’m with you, PB. I think this controversy is stupid. Before, when she refused to endorse a candidate, she had both sides on. This year, she’s endorsing so she’s not having anyone on the show period. If she had interviews scheduled with Biden and Obama, that would be a completely different story. She’s admitted her support of, preference of and bias towards one candidate over the other so why would she interview the opposition? Not to mention that if she did, it would likely be a gotcha interview. I think it’s a big deal over nothing.
What should have been a big deal was when she hired all white wait staff for her Legends Ball.
FloridaOberserver, you are right about false prophets. Those who are godless will fall for them.
Candidates for an antichrist-type figure can come from the self-help area, who hook their subjects with mind drugs such as the “self esteem” movement and “chicken-soup-for-the-soul” pap.
Oprah’s tripe is from someone’s fantasy world and may make one feel good for no more than a few minutes.
The difference between her and Sarah Palin is not only that Sarah Palin is the one with the lipstick, but also that Sarah is the one rooted in reality with real concern for others and will never lower herself to selling books full of nonsensical, fake, “feel-good”, fantasy, dream-drivel to feed her ego and her bank account.
Personally I think Palin should snub Oprah.
I hadn’t heard that. I guess it’s google time.
Sarah should ignore “The O” and instead visit with Ellen - a much more likable although quirky hostess.
Or perhaps have a chatdown with Don Imus.
Or maybe coffee with Regis and Kelly.
Or even (hold your nose) Larry King.
Just don’t give “The O” any of your time at all - - she is clearly biased and racist just like her hero, “The One”.
I think Ellen would be a great choice. She’s had McCain on and several members of the Bush family and she’s always respectful and lighthearted and engaging. I think she have a great time with Sarah.
How disengenuous for Oprah to deny that she is keeping Palin off the show and then say Palin is welcome on after the election! How dumb does she think people are?
I say we turn Oprah loose in the woods and let Sarah hunt her down like a moose.
how’s that for a reality show!!! lol.
It certainly sounds like there’s a bit of racism going on here. I am not buying the “Oprah is a business woman” line. If it was just Oprah, there might be some cover in that story.
But take a look at the ratings charts from this link:
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/05/nielsen-mccains-speech-draws-more-viewers-than-obamas-while-airing-on-fewer-networks/
BET and TV One both aired the entire Democratic Convention. But they did not carry one minute of the Republican Convention. So much for stations using the public airways providing equal time, huh?
It may be just me, but I see a pattern here. Can anyone imagine the outcry if a station with a predominately white viewership refused to carry the Democratic Convention but put McCain and Palin on?
And to top it off, Obama started playing the race card again today. Post racial candidate? Equality in broadcasting? Right.
How racist of you to point that out.
/sarc
I frankly don’t care if BET showed the RNC or not, but I don’t want to hear any complaining about the GOP not being inclusive when BET doesn’t even give their viewers the opportunity to view at least the primetime speeches. I used to watch BET from time to time, but they are trying to keep up with the crap that MTV airs. Talk about pigs and mud.
I heard O’reilly say McCains speech got higher ratings as well…
Odopey’s toast.
I’m a big fan of Sarah Palin, but I don’t want to be a hypocrite. Can anyone explain to me what the deal is with the bridge to nowhere? I’ve heard that she was for it, before she was against it. Is that true? Can anyone point to a good source for clarification on this issue?
ROFLMAO!
I don’t think sarah Palin should even consider gracing the steps of Harpo Inc., giving it any credibility.
Walk on, Sarah, you have more grace and taste than that!
Rumor has it that when first Governor, she “rolled with it” as being a Rebub issue till she looked into the “good ol’ boys” idea and then shot it down.
There is. It’s BOE: Black-on-Eskimo. Oprah’s stereotype of all Yupiks as whale hunters (aka spearchuckers) sends her into paroxysms of fear at the thought of Todd Palin’s presence in the studio.
Oprah could feed a village for a year in more ways than one!
I am new to this site. Can someone tell me how to reply to a specific post?
Yes. You do something like this:
Hey (insert name, usually lgm), you’re an idiot.
All of the liberals, and that includes Oprah, are willing to take an economic hit to get obama elected. They care not one whit about “fairness”. They hope to repair whatever damage is done when the election is over - and they can then try to assuage their audience.
If you watch Oprah or shows like the View, you are paying to undermine your own interests. Advertisers pay for audience, and the bigger the audience the more they will pay. If Oprah loses a substantial percentage of her audience, she will lose advertising dollars and, eventually, the people who work on her show will either have to take a pay cut or be fired.
Actions have consequences, and bad actions should have bad consequences. (And asking for forgiveness or tolerance with a smirk on your face is just plain further insult - I note the guy from US being challenged by Megan Kelly of FoxNews as a perfect example of this insult.)
O stepped in it by backing a candidate.
Palin is the perfect story/guest for a show like Oprah.
Even the wise “O” is suffering in her rush to anoint the other Holy “O”.

Awww, Gamg, let’s cut Obama, errr, Oprah some slack.
It will be fun to watch Oprah address Sarah Palin as Madam or Mrs. Vice President. (What is the protocol anyway?)
How long after the election do y’all think it will take for her to extend the invitation?!?!?
Looks like Oprah might just be pissing off the Libs a bit. This is the latest poll I saw while perusing the filth at TMZ:
This is the link straight from Oprah’s Web Site. I say we all go there and send her a letter telling her exactly how we all feel about her blatant biased views and how she is denying millions of viewers the chance to learn just who Gov. Palin is from the Great and Powerful Oprah. The best would be if they had a modicum of integrity and read the letters on the air. Won’t happen, bu it is a nice thought.
My letter to follow. Sorry if someone has already listed this…didn’t get through all the posts yet.
My letter to Oprah:
I think Oprah is simply playing it safe. She has her little vow to hide behind and being there sure beats the possibility of Sarah declining the invitation.
Imagine the headline: “PALIN TURNS DOWN INVITATION FROM OPRAH WINFREY” Oprah can’t ri$k that happening and if I was Sarah it is exactly what I’d do given the chance - snub a major BHO supporter.
So many women I know will not have anything to do with Oprah anymore.
A Palin visit to Oprah’s couch would guarantee a victory for McCain in November.
Oprah knows this and that is why Palin will never see her set.
I stopped watching Oprah after 9/11. She had all these onesided geopolitical discussions going, which were more propaganda than imformation. By backing BO, she was trying to influence the election. What a powerful tool for elites, dems and other wackos if she could deliver an election. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, comes Sarah Palin!
I don’t watch Oprah or the View. I do watch Ellen on occasion. Now it would be difficult, like US magazine, to give up something I don’t subscribe to in the first place.
Oprah, was among the many voices who called for Imus to be fired for a satirical sound byte, that has been used since by people like Chris Rock. Oprah Fair minded hardly. I am not suprized she is at the eye of another double standard, it is how she operates.
Oprah built a girl’s school in South Africa, spent millions of dollars to put her name on a building “Vanity” now people from Zimbabwea are pouring into South Africa because of the collapse of their Govt., brought on by Robert Mugabe people in need in Zimbabwe, I have not heard Oprah speak about them. Children in Monrovia, Liberia, go to school in a burned out church. Monrovia,Liberia, the descendants of American Slaves, who share more of connection to Oprah then people in South Africa. No help for Liberians? Not from Oprah or the folks at United Trinity (African centered church) Why not are they not just as deserving? I think it is because Liberia is pro American, and there is no publicity in helping them. When you take a close look at Oprah, she doesn’t go as deep as she postures. It is all about Oprah.
If Oprah is being swayed by her staff, then she isn’t the strong woman we thought her to be. If the indicision is emminating from Oprah herself, then she STILL isn’t the strong woman we thought her to be.
Oprah cannot stand conservatives period. Her dealings with White people require them to be liberal or from Hollywood otherwise she prefers dysfunctional Whites. I personally do not know why she does that but a running theory is that it Oprah wants to expose dysfunctional Whites to her liberal viewers in order to portray them as normal.
Oprah may reject putting a strong, articulate, beautiful, Christian, woman on the program because it contradicts her created vision of white America.
Finally, Oprah cares a lot more about being Black than being a woman because she scorned Hillary while pushing Obama. Oprah needs to spend some of her windfall billion dollar wealth to help the poor in her own community rather than blaming Republicans.
What I sent to Oprah:
To comment #169, I very much disagree with the sentiments expressed within. I watched when she had Bill O’Reilly on a few years back. Considering the scorn he often gets from those who disagree with him, Oprah was quite gracious and fair with him during the whole show. He, in turn, was very complimentary of his treatment by her and her staff.
I suspect that the issue in play here is that she has gone out on a limb for Obama and suffered a backlash. She sees herself between rock and a hard place because of that. She needs to decide whether it is more important to support Obama or that she help the voters in this country by providing the opportunity to get to know the candidates better and because of that greater knowledge make a better and more informed decision come November.
Ignorant. Disgusting. Naive. Un-American. Infuriating. Hmmm, Oprah reminds me of, ummm, ummm, oh yeah, the left.
I think Oprah is a fat, ugly, black radical lesbian that has an effiminate gay guy to be her “beard”. I have never understood why anyone would watch her. I think it might be because she is not treatening to women because she is a lesbian and doesn’t want any woman’s man.
