Your morning P.D.S. alert Updated

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 5, 2008 09:28 AM

Scroll down…another outbreak…

Photoshop: David Lunde

I wonder if there will be a day that goes by between now and Election Day that I’m posting no less than five of these alerts.

From reader Mike:

I was listening to an R&B station here in town and they were talking about how McCain didn’t speak about the “issues”. The man on the radio started talking about how Obama will beat McCain in the debates. Another person remarked that people will be paying more attention to the VP debate. Then they referred to Palin as a “crazy white bitch” several times and then called her a librarian stripper.

The folks at 97.1 FM told me it was a nationally syndicated Tom Joyner show from ReachMedia and that they would look into the statements. I cannot find it online, but though you might be able to expose this type of racist discourse. I will say that this will not go over well here in NC with either the white or black communities.

Can you imagine if someone on the radio made similar comments about Barack or his wife? The left can say what they want about Rush, but you will never hear trash like that from him. I hope you post this so they can be exposed for espousing racist garbage.

The only mention of left is in the statement about leftists bashing Rush.

Anyway, instead of diverting away from the issue, that is the racist and sexist statements of a radio host with a national syndication, you focus on a non-issue.

Palin-bashing is apparently acceptable and vogue, which is a sad comment on exactly how “tolerant” the left is.

My one question to conservatives is: Don’t you feel at least a little bit used? John McCain floated the idea of a pro-choice nominee so he could govern with Joe Lieberman, who except for his national security support is as liberal as Barack Obama. And only because that didn’t go over well with the base, did he pick Sarah Palin.

With or without Sarah Palin, he’s going to grant illegals a path to citizenship with no plan to secure the border.

With or without Sarah Palin, he’s going to let the Bush tax cuts expire as was his plan before he had to run for President.

With or without Sarah Palin, he’s going to nominate “moderate” Supreme Court nominees, since he felt Alito was too conservative, who are going to keep Roe v. Wade the law, as he supported in 1998 before he had to run for President.

With or without Sarah Palin, he’s going to close Guantanamo Bay and bring the terrorists to U.S. soil, where they will be guaranteed the protections of U.S. citizens.

With or without Sarah Palin, he’s going to tax carbon emissions.

I know Sarah is your girl, but do you really think she is there for any reason but to hoodwink you into voting for amnesty, taxes, abortion, detainee rights and global warming action?

20-25 years ago, the socialists said they opposed the missile defense program because it would not work.

At least we know where he stands, and don’t have to hope that he’ll decide to actually represent us if we reward him with the presidency.

We’re supposed to be the intelligent party, based on fact over theories.

There’s really nothing conservative about getting McCain elected. It’s selling out principles for party, because Obama and McCain agree on about 80% of the issues. And the 20% they disagree on aren’t on the top of my personal list.

It took a Carter administration to get Reagan elected. If it takes 4 years of Obama to get a Palin up front, then I am willing to endure 4 years of the pain. If that’s what it takes to force my party to recognize that they’ve lost their way, then it’s the least I can do.

Voting for McCain, faintly hoping against hope that he will change his positions on the issues that are important to me would be akin to a wife returning to a husband that beats her. I’d say she deserves what she gets.

In essence, Sarah Palin is everything that John McCain isn’t. Which leads to the question that was asked long ago by the Hebrew prophet: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

Herein lies the problem for Sarah Palin. How can a principled conservative support the policies and actions of an unprincipled globalist such as John McCain? As Vice President, Palin will be required to promote and defend McCain’s big-government, liberal, and globalist plans. For example, what will she do when John McCain proposes amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, which he is certain to do? What will she do when McCain proposes to close gun shows, or at least the private sale of firearms at gun shows? What will she do when he proposes to increase federal spending for abortion providers (which he has done numerous times as senator)? What will she do when he promotes federal spending for embryonic stem cell research? What will she do when John McCain proliferates Bush’s police state machinations by expanding the Patriot Act and similar legislation? What will Palin do when McCain decides to nuke Iran (and who knows what else), not only without a Declaration of War by Congress, but also without provocation or justification? What will she do as John McCain expands the Security and Prosperity Partnership with Canada and Mexico? What will she do as McCain opens the door of the NAFTA superhighway and the North American Union? What will she do as John McCain allows the United Nations to dictate and manipulate America’s foreign policy? Again, can two walk together except they be agreed?

Let’s face it: John McCain is using Sarah Palin as inducement to trick conservatives into accepting his liberal, big-government, globalist candidacy. And, sadly, it is working.

I honestly can’t see how a vote for Obama would remedy a single one of those problems, and in fact, would doubtlessly make them worse (or vote “present”), so what is your point?

At least I have a chance of influencing McCain, who may be stubborn, but can be persuaded with facts. Obama is as far left as one can get and not fall into the Pacific ocean. There is no chance of influencing him.

Because as much as we may wish it were so the world doesn’t always run on principle and in a nation of 300 million people you pretty much always have to compromise.

I find 90 percent of Bush’s policies contemptable, but I voted for him because I thought 100 percent of Kerry’s were awful. To me 2004 was a choice: have a President I hate and win the war or have a President I hate and lose the war. For an adult that’s a simple choice.

Those of you who are saying “four years of Obama will get us a Reagan” are assuming an awful lot that you have no rational basis to assume. I think once he’s in office with a unified Democratic Congress behind him he’s got a much better chance of turning into a Clinton than a Carter.

You’re also forgetting that a President Obama will put liberal activists on the Supreme Court that will be there not for four years, but for decades. Is there a chance McCain will screw up on judges? Of course. But it’s guaranteed that Obama will. Is there a chance McCain will revert to form and dismiss conservative ideals? Yes, a good chance. But how exactly do you think Obama will treat you?

Like it or not we live in a two party system. We had eight years of Clinton, leaving a legacy we’re still paying for, because people voted for Perot in order to be “principled”. Remember that.
