Latest smear: Palin called Obama a “Sambo!”
Tons of readers are sending the latest, most pathetic smear against Gov. Sarah Palin.
It is laughable beyond belief.
One “Charley James” accuses Palin of exclaiming the following after Obama defeated Hillary:
“So Sambo beat the bitch!”
Read the entire “investigative report” here, which comes off like a really, really bad Onion parody.

And according to that unimpeachable journalistic source, The L.A. Progressive, lauded as the paper of choice for The Pie Man, Gov. Palin is even bigoted against her own husband, as they claim that she is racist towards the indigenous Inuits (or as they refer to them, Eskimos and her house the Igloo).
No…there is absolutely no bias, no plan, no smear involved in this “story” what-so-ever. Just honest journalism from those crusaders of truth bringing you the stories that the Conservative Media that have been bought and paid for by those Big business Fat Cats like CNN, MSNBC and others refuse to tell you because hey…they are all racist too.

My memory may be off on this (and no way do I want to add another Sambo search to Google’s hit parade in order to check this out), but I seem to recall a children’s book in which Little Black Sambo was the main character. As a child I had access to a lot of very old (as in late 19th and early 20th century) books – no, I’m not that old myself. A couple of great-aunts were teachers, and passed on quite a few books to my family.
Please, everyone, keep the Palin family in your prayers. We’ve seen Sarah’s strength, but this whole business is downright mean (still waiting for Michelle O to speak up *cue the crickets*). It can’t be easy for Todd and the children.
If Obama is elected, there may be such a program.
Either learn to use the “quote” function or stop using other people’s words.
Not that Sarah Palin isn’t capable of saying or doing something that is sinful or off color – we all are. But based on the fact that she was raised in the Assembly of God; attends a Bible believing and Bible teaching church; and the way she leads her life would immediately make one suspect of claims that she said “So Sambo beat the b??ch!”. That would be out of character.
Evangelical Christians can spot the real deal a mile away. That’s why they’ve taken to Sarah Palin so quickly. And, that’s why the Democrats have so much trouble attracting them to their party. Christians who are based firmly in Biblical beliefs aren’t easily fooled by wolves in sheep’s closing.

Ah yes. The Sambos chain. Until they were forced out of existance I always made a point to eat at one whenever I traveled. One of the best places to eat that I have found. I still have several of their coffee mugs and often when I have visitors use those mugs.

I was never a big fan of McCain and was unhappy to have had to choose the lesser of two evils, again. So far, Palin sounds like someone who is not afraid to defend her conservative side. If she hides from the public eye in the next few months, I will be critical of her. So far, I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I, too, remember “Little Black Sambo.” It was one of the most popular books in our elementary school library. And then the book disappeared. We came back to school one fall after summer vacation, and the book was not on the shelf. The kids asked the librarian where the book was, and we were told it had been removed because it was demeaning to black people. I’ve always wondered who made that decision. A parent in our small, all-white, Midwestern farming community who was on the cutting edge of the political correctness wave? Or could it have been someone in the school (teacher, librarian, administrator) who attended a summer seminar and came back “aware” of the damage such books have on young developing minds? Where, oh where, were all those liberal librarians standing up against the banning of books when our favorite book was removed from the library shelf???

Some posters referred to the Sambo’s restaurant chain. The name was not a racial thing, rather a combination of the names of the owners, “Sam” was one and his partner was “Bo.” It started in Santa Barbara and the only one left is right across from the ocean, owned by Sam’s grandson.

I am a foreigner, but what is Sambo anyway? Of course I don’t believe it. The dems are the party of racism and not only do tey smear, but they steal SS #s/personal info, as with Michael Steel and now Gov Palin.
The problem we have out here in Californieaye is that the Republicans have written this state off ever since 1992, and thus we never get to see any of the Republican Candidates.
back in 1996, I was workin for a sound company who had the contract to do the sound for them when they came into certain areas. I was able to meet all four of them. Let me tell you, you really can tell a lot about a man by the way they shake hands. Did the same in `92. Since then, nothing. Bush ignored us, and I can’t help but see the same thing happening with McCain.
Too bad. This state really could swing back if they spent some time not ignoring us. That, and I would really enjoy going to one of their events.

Well, it WAS hot out on the tarmac. I got there at 8am when it was 55 degrees (doors opened at 9) and there were a lot of people (really long lines – probably atleast 1 mile long) and parking did suck (dirt lots – in my KIA Spectra is not fun). Locals (yup, I am now) know that the streets and airport weren’t build to handle that kind of traffic.
What the heck did the DIP expect? If you know the airport (it is small) and the streets, you would EXPECT it to be crowded. I walked about 3 miles (needed a Coors when I got home) but it only took about an hour to get out and home. (I live 30 minutes from the airport.) I guess I am used to events in Los Angeles where it takes 2 hours to get in and 2 to get home. Springs people think a 30 minute drive is a horrible inconvenience…and I am getting spoiled here just like DW…LOL

S/he was right about the speeches being revised from the RNC. But I really enjoyed hearing the local politicos give their shpiels. I don’t know them yet like I did the LA county folks, so that was good. And when the Invesco Flag story was told and the Vets started passing them out, and we had them in our hands and same Lee Greenwoods song. Ahhh, I was glad I had a tissue! And I got to meet some really great people and hear their stories and why they support McCain/Palin.
I will see if I can post the few good pics somewhere and share the wealth…
Isn’t “teflon” what they called President Reagan? Sarah is a lot like him with her optimism and thick skin. Reagan was also called “The Great Communicator”, and Sarah is also a great speaker.
She is like him and Teddy Roosevelt in many ways.
