As a conservative:
I do not expect perfection in any human
I do not throw pity parties
I fight for what I believe in keeping eye on the endgame
do what you feel is best but you will not get far questioning MY conservatisim
Consider the damage an Obama/Pelosi/Reid triangle could do to the Constitution and the Republic. At best it would take 2 – 3 generations to remedy, if it could be remedied at all.

If anyone saw Glenn Beck’s show Thursday night, he had a panel of Obummer experts, of course, including Corsi and Freddoso.
If you thought you knew everything scary about Bambi before, you’d be wrong. The stuff they had on him was incredible.
One of the most damning was his use of themes and verbatim phrases from Alinsky’s books, and not the infamous Rules for Radicals, either. He uses these phrases in public, so I can’t wait for a Fox person, like Hannity, to be featuring this some day.
Glenn is doing yeoman’s work getting the word out on the Agitator.
The boomerang is a decent enough metaphor.
These campaigns are chess matches, though some are far more clumsy than others. The GOP are showing they are the better players. Not only do they react properly to their opponents moves and feints, they are taking the game to them.
Most journalists (present blogger excepted, of course) don’t think many moves ahead and they’ve missed the point on the experience question. Around the water cooler we’ve been discussing this. The BO supporters either parrot the press or make the same logical errors. They actually believe that the McCain campaign made a choice that took the experience question off the table.
This is ridiculous. With this VP choice, they made the decision that the GOP will not harp on experience. The evidence is clear. They are daring the Dems to make it an issue. If they do, their lack of experience at the top of the ticket will be made plain to even the most distracted voter.
Deftly done, McCain campaign.
McCain and the GOP are going to move on to more substantive topics over the next 60 days. They’ll continue to parry the Dems feeble attempts at “four more years of Bush”. In fact, I bet they hope the Dems continue down that fruitless path of campaign rhetoric.
McCain/Palin will be a far cry from Bush/Cheney, and despite the polls, when it comes time to enter the voting booth, Americans will vote for the ticket that they trust will take care of the country, not pander to their avarice.
I’m looking forward to the next unexpected and brilliant move by the GOP.
By November everyone will see that Obama has no clothes, and that Biden only wears a multi-colored pointy hat with jingly bells hanging from it.
There’s only one serious ticket: McCain/Palin.

One of the things I like about Sarah’s experience is the fact that the Alaska GOP good old boy network dislike her. John Fund on Fox and Friends this morning reports they support her now just to get her out of the state! Ted Stevens, Randy Ruedrich and that crowd might just as well resign now and save themselves several hundred pounds of TUMS.

Masses are moving indeed. Slightly OT, but television news stories in the SE Mass area today featured how Sarah’s designer glasses are flying off the shelves and Fox featured a hair stylist regarding her “do”. Has nothing to do with politics, but speaks to the fact that she has moved from being a sympathetic figure to someone now to be copied. Bad news for dems and she’s not even at the top of the ticket.
The inexperience charge has boomeranged and now BHO can’t fault Gov. Palin for being a rock star, since that will come back at him as well.

You can tell an inexperienced person by the mistakes he/she makes and the things she/he is able/unable to do. This is a better measure than counting years in office.
Recent Russian invasion of Georgia: McCain’s staff is made up of lobbyists for Georgia, making him ineffective. Obama speaks clearly, quickly, and effectively.
More troops for Afganistan: McCain says no, Obama says yes. Now Bush is coming around to Obama’s position.
Press interviews: Biden is able to hold a press conference “on day one”. Palin has to be protected from the press until she can “come up to speed” on national issues like the war in Iraq (which she knows little about).
McCain starts his presidential campaign as a favorite and runs his operation into bankruptcy, only to be rescued by a borderline illegal loan and the staggering incompetence of the other candidates. Obama starts as an underdog and builds one of the most efficient campaigns ever.
I didn’t think they sold kool-aid till the afternoon, guess I was mistaken.

LGM – you may want to rethink that statement as when it comes to the Georgian situation Obama said that it should be sent to the UN Security Council for action. Obama forgot that Russia has a Veto on the Securtiy Council as a permanent member of the Council; therefore no action could be taken against Russia as they would veto it.
When did McCain so no more troops in Afghanistan? I never heard it. McCain always did call for more troops in Iraq and Obama did not; yet even Obama has admited that the troop surege worked better than he could have imagined.
And you know for fact that Palin did not hold a press conference on day one because she was not up to speed? At least Palin did not say that her running mate was not ready to be President and that she would be honored to be the running mate of the opposing parties ticket like Biden did.
McCain was not the favorite at all. Most people had written McCain off. Prior to the Primaries the top two candidates expected to win were Rudy Gulliani and Hillary CLinton and neither made it to the top spot.

I’m also sick of the idea that we’ll get another Reagan out of the mess. That is assuming a lot. Obama would have a democratic congress that would feel empowered and could do some serious, long lasting damage to the freedoms we enjoy in this country. Even if he only had the congress for 2 years, he could inflict a truck load of damage in that time. It is not worth the risk. Yes, I’d rather have a Jendal/Palin ticket, too. But we don’t. And when we sit around and whine about what McCain is not we sound just like the lefties cryin “not fair”. Get over it and put your country first!
