Did anyone else see the reverand Al on Fox say that the McCain campaign lowered the bar when they announced Palin as VP? I don’t know about anyone else, but I, as a woman was highly offended. I want an apology.

Your post reminded me of a saying that I heard years ago (and it gets repeated every so often): the boys on Madison Avenue have you right where they want you.

In a recent conversation with a client the subject of fuel-efficient cars came up, and there was some disagreement about whether it was marketing that drove the rise of SUV or if it was the result of consumer demand. I tended to think it was marketing, and after reading your post, I’m convinced.

She LUMBERED down the stage. There was nothing dance-like about it.

Winnowill, your observation is similar to mine; my husband agreed with me, that (among other things) she’s bow-legged. And I also agree, she most emphatically does not move with the grace…of a dancer.

While in CVS today I happened (accidentally on purpose) to walk down the magazine aisle, and after my passage all the US magazines were turned backside to and/or placed behind other magazines. Small satisfaction, to be sure, but satisfaction nonetheless.
