Well, after watching both BO and Joe Blow’s lame appearances last night (BO on O’Reilly; Biden on Meet the Press), it is no wonder that they have to resort to message manipulation.

Was watching Biden last night in the company of military professionals — men and women who have actually been to Iraq, repeatedly, and were instrumental in turning around Anbar province.

I have never seen a group of people laugh so hard at Biden’s preposterous blustering and BS.

Someone needs to be keep a running tally of BO and Biden’s foreign policy gaffes, starting with Big Joe’s desire to partition Iraq and BO’s claim he is going to invade Pakistan.

The Left is worried, and they should be, as long as the Republicans keep hitting them where it hurts and stay on message:

    - National Security
    - Energy
    - Taxes

    Repeat after me.
    Security. Energy. Taxes.

It would be nice if the RNC would dive in and help out a bit more to get Bill Russell and Alan West elected, but I digress.

We have less than 60 days to go so we cannot let up in countering the slime merchants on the left. They are going to try every underhanded tactic they know, and throw every piece of slime they can find or make up against the wall and hope something sticks before election day.

I saw on CNN last night that they have sent a slew of reporters to Alaska and are now digging through and parsing every word uttered by Sarah Palin in a church setting AND those said by others. As if she would have had any idea what a guest speaker one Sunday at church was going to say. They are trying to find Palin’s Rev. Wright– And since he doesn’t exist are going to try to create one out of whole cloth.

Anyone know of a good website that can give just the unvarnished facts about both candidates positions? I’m looking for stuff like Obama’s tax increases are going to be x,y and z, and here’s the position paper, platform plank etc. that confirms this data, and the same stuff for the GOP. When I post on my blog I want my facts and figures to be accurate. And although I have a GOP bias I would rather be truthful about what both we and the Dems are proposing and then make my argument as to why I support the GOP and McCain/Palin. But I get really tired of having to wade through so much superfluous info to find that little bit of data I can use.

Gov. Palin is a threat to the left because she represents everything they despise. She’s a devoutly Christian, conservative, Pro-Life, hunting, fishing, tax-cutting, fraud busting executive who got where she is through hard work and merit. She embraces her femininity rather than deny it. She is showing American women that you don’t have to buy in to the radical feminist dogma to succeed. I prayed when I first heard of her selection that she would have the strength to weather the coming storm. I believe now she didn’t need my prayers. She strikes me as one who takes it all in and thinks to herself: Game On!

And I agree with the other posters — this is no time to get cocky or overconfident, but continue to work steadily towards victory and keep the momentum going.

Every vote is going to count. It will still be THAT close.

As far as Wiki — I don’t take it seriously (wouldn’t use it as a cite, for example) but it is telling that they feel that Wiki bombing is an important strategy. The supporters of the “DREAM” act/amnesty use the same strategy.

    David, thank you!!
And … how many wars are started by people without ANY actual military experience themselves?

I was working in DC on 9/11 …I remember walking into the office on 9/12…my husband was essentially in lock-down & worried …the liberal morons in the office were high-fiving each other, playing armchair general…
“we should do this, we should do that, send troops here to kick azz…” ad nauseum.

Your friends on the left are providing all of the misdirection anyone needs by bringing non-issues (or imagined ones)up in the first place. You want to discuss issues? Start with this one:

Also, wouldn’t the per capita earmarks be more of a reflection on the small population of Alaska in relation to Illinois–and the need to do things like protect resources in the state of Alaska–which is 100x larger than Illinois?

    I guess I don’t follow the argument.

From the master of misdirection, that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read. Any misdirection on Palin was NOT started but the Republicans. Let’s try being truthful here, LGM, at least once in your miserable life. Who did the initial piling on when se was announced? Who is keeping up the personal assaults on her person, character and background? The Republicans? I doubt it.

You have to be one of the most smarmy, clueless(deliberately?), tasteless individuals I’ve ever heard of. You have repeatedly put down the military, trashed our hostess, tried everything in your power to misdirect threads by popping in and dropping your crap all over this site.

I challenge you – put up or shut up. If you don’t like the military, for example, why not at least educate yourself on what we’re all about, instead of pouring out your venomous pronouncements with absolutely no clue whatsoever as to what you’re talking about.

There have been many instances where you have used Wikipedia as your source for information. If it is such a bad or unreliable source. why do you use it?

Why don’t you at least try to think for yourself for a change, instead of pulling out the talking points of your groupthink comrades, and believing they make you sound polished and witty?

I am neither a Democrat or a Republican. I am an individual. I think and act for myself. I can both read and understand, which seems to be beyond your list of accomplishments.

I have made many mistakes in my life, and I have freely admitted them, and accepted the consequences for them. I doubt if you ever have. You seem to be the type of person who tries to shift the blame whenever possible.

This is why Liberals just LOVE to use Wiki as their sources when debating you. Because they can very easily go there, change any and all information on whatever page or subject they are attempting to sound knowledgable and informed on, and then show the person that they are correct.

Wiki, while a good idea in theory, is flawed from jump street. As long as they allow anyone to change anything on their site without it having to go through channels and be subjected to scrutiny long before it is ever published, it will remain nothing but the joke of the Information Age.

Republicans start unnecessary wars, Democrats deface Wikipedia pages get into bed with the enemy in an attempt to placate them so as not to hurt their feelings, after which they cuddle for years while receiving large illegal transfusions of cash and then give the enemy enough of our trade and military secrets to let them play large on the world stage. Let’s keep some perspective.

Thanks lgm, this could get interesting.

    Well done, chief.

Why has Obama refused every single invitation to one-on-one debates with McCain to discuss issues?

Obumbler’s handlers are probably telling him what my grandmother would tell me when I was a little boy and about to do something stunningly stupid, “You daresn’t do that!”

OK, you can debate whether invading Iraq with too few troops and faulty intel and no plan for stabilization was good or bad, but Folks, we have more important issues than Palin’s Wikipedia page.

Misdirection: that’s the Republican strategy to win when the issues are against them. Keep people talking about anything but the issues. Recently we’ve been talking about Palin — her pregnant daughter, what some blogger somewhere said about her, what some waitress said she overheard. Let’s talk about her record (ten times more earmarks per person than Obama), the McCain economic proposals, the state of the economy, even the (improving) state in Iraq.

Umm.. Earth to deranged man it’s the far leaning left that has been keeping Palin in the news on non-issues.

    1. Palin’s daughter: non-issue being hounded by the left
    2. What some waitress thought she heard based on pure hearsay: non-issue brought up by the left

    etc, etc, etc

Go clean up your own side’s house before coming over here and saying we’re not talking about the issues. And while you’re at it, why don’t you get them lefty nutballs to let conservatives post over there without getting banned on the spot because they just can’t handle dissent. The fact that you can post here at all speaks volume for which side of the fence practices bi-partisanship and hearing out all views.

OK…something I need to say, just for the point of counter-perspective. I’m an editor at Wikipedia for those who don’t know. But for this purpose, I’m not a Wikipedian, I’m simply a user.

Yes, pages get defaced. And yes, Wikipedia does have its problems. Doesn’t each webpage?

For the record, due to the ‘wars’ going on there, the page was protected for an hour. I’ve flagged it for protection again.

Don’t count your chickens too soon, folks. That’s the error that Hillary made before the primaries, and same mistake that Hopenchange made beginning with his European “victory tour.”

You see where their overconfidence led them.

The domestic enemy is like a wounded animal in a corner right now. This can be a very dangerous time to lose focus.

“In war there is much to be said for magnanimity in victory. But not before victory.”

    Very well put.

It was only a matter of time. The day she was announced as the VP candidate, I looked at the site and it said that nothing could be added until after Sept. 5th. I’m surprised it took this long. Wiki has become nothing more than an open thread tool anyway.

You mean like Vietnam? Or were you referring to Kosovo? Please be more specific.

And yes, we have been playing free and loose with the confidence for almost two weeks now, but as long as they keep spreading false rumors, slandering, and libeling GOVERNOR Palin, and now having the entire Dem ticket resorting to kindergarten level name calling, I feel pretty secure in my overconfidence. The day the Left stops is the day I will go back to being worried about TGC winning, but I just don’t see that happening any time too soon.
