Yes! The Barbra Streisand Kiss of Death
She will sing for her savior. And we should cheer. Because it has done wonders for all the other political candidates she has supported. When Barbra croons for you, you can kiss your chances of winning goodbye.
Barbra Streisand will be among the headliners at a fund-raiser for Barack Obama on Sept. 16, where she will perform for the presidential candidate at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The plans for the event were outlined this morning and Streisand confirmed that she would take the stage. The hotel ballroom holds an estimated 700 people.
Obama’s fund-raiser is expected to be his final visit to raise money here before the general election.
Obama will start the evening with a 5 p.m. dinner event for about 250 people at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, the historic estate once owned by the legendary Doheny family. Tickets for the event are $28,500.
Later, he will attend a reception at the Beverly Wilshire, followed by Streisand’s special performance. Tickets for the event are $2,500 per person.
Co-hosts for event include the DreamWorks team of Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, as well as political consultant Andy Spahn. It’s also being organized with Obama’s Southern California finance team.
Streisand endorsed Obama after he secured the nomination in June. She had endorsed Hillary Clinton in the primary, and appeared and spoke at a fund-raiser for her in January. She also sang at a concert for John Kerry in 2004 and Al Gore in 2000.

Well, I was going to say Ebay it and send the money to the McCain/Palin campaign. But then I took a quick peek at Ebay, and so far as I can tell, no one’s bidding on vintage BS albums.

Babs, Brittney, Madonna…millions of dollars in wealth and property…support Obama…a candidate who has promised to raise their taxes…why? Do they think he will extend to them tax exemptions?
Why do the rich members of the Democrat Party support an increase on taxes on themselves? If it is guilt that drives them, domestic charities would welcome their generous contributions. Why in the world would they want to be forced in to paying bureaucratic overhead (taxes?)

I was in Vegas at the turn of the century( a crazy, amazing and wonderful time) …anyway I had the choice of Babs or another performer, Bette Midler.
I chose Bette because I knew she wouldn’t politicize the night, which Babs might do …and unbelievably Babs did, even tho people spent a fortune on entertainment tix.
Babs did NOT, could NOT sell out a 2500 person theater on the biggest night of the century, she is a has-been.
