Yes! The Barbra Streisand Kiss of Death
She will sing for her savior. And we should cheer. Because it has done wonders for all the other political candidates she has supported. When Barbra croons for you, you can kiss your chances of winning goodbye.
Barbra Streisand will be among the headliners at a fund-raiser for Barack Obama on Sept. 16, where she will perform for the presidential candidate at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The plans for the event were outlined this morning and Streisand confirmed that she would take the stage. The hotel ballroom holds an estimated 700 people.
Obama’s fund-raiser is expected to be his final visit to raise money here before the general election.
Obama will start the evening with a 5 p.m. dinner event for about 250 people at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, the historic estate once owned by the legendary Doheny family. Tickets for the event are $28,500.
Later, he will attend a reception at the Beverly Wilshire, followed by Streisand’s special performance. Tickets for the event are $2,500 per person.
Co-hosts for event include the DreamWorks team of Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen, as well as political consultant Andy Spahn. It’s also being organized with Obama’s Southern California finance team.
Streisand endorsed Obama after he secured the nomination in June. She had endorsed Hillary Clinton in the primary, and appeared and spoke at a fund-raiser for her in January. She also sang at a concert for John Kerry in 2004 and Al Gore in 2000.

babs is so irrelevant, who would want to hear her sing? especially for 2500 a pop? again, obamitler has to spend his time raising money instead of being out there on the campaign trail. i mean, california is considered blue so this does seem a major waste of time and effort on his part. but, he needs the elite’s money to run ads in the cross over portion of this country. does seem a little ironic, doesn’t it?

Here was a lady who could sing once, until she thought someone was out to kill her. Just because she can sing a song (so can I), she thinks she’s above everyone and a social/political expert. She’s irrevelant now. I remember when she first started out as a singer; she was pretty good. If she had just stayed in the singing field, she would be in great demand today. Too bad, she developed some mental problems.

One of the guests is Steven Spielberg, director of the proArab movie “Munich”. In that movie the Israeli attempting to avenge the murder of Israeli athletes are treated as stone cold killers, complete with Yiddish accents. At the end of the movie, Spielberg juxtaposes Israel’s policies with a view of the world trade centers to convey Spielberg’s message that 9/11 is blowback for what Israel has wrought. When he lists the names of the people who suffered as a result of the Munich massacre, Spielberg lists the Israelis who were murdered AND the Palestinian killers who were either killed by German police or by Israelis. This is Speilbergerian moral equivalence. And I wonder if anybody at the party with Babs will mention that when Obama spoke in Germany, he mentioned the countries that he said were victimized by terrorism. Obama mentioned the US, UK, Spain, Indonesia and a few others. But he carefully refused to mention Israel or the words Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. He was only a friend of Israel in Israel. Outside Israel, Obama likes to be known as the cool leftist critic of America.

During the show she stopped to make a brief speech about how we cant’ continue spending money creating weapons “that we can never use”. Money raised from tickets went in part to Alan Cranston’s campaign fund. His political career ended in disgrace.
I can only imagine as well, that the same old tired faces will be in attendance of Bab’s ‘concert’.

Barbara Steisand – hugely successful, rich as King Midas, lives in probably more than 7 houses, AND bitter, shrill, and desperate. Why are the vast majority of liberals, with particular emphasis on the very rich so unhappy, convinced that the world is at the brink of destruction, desperate for the world (full of evil tyrants) love America, consumed with fear – fear of cancer, fear of ozone holes, fear, of their own breath with it’s CO2. They are convinced that their “community activism” is the shield which protects the world and it’s peoples even while they believe that the opposite – that we are going to hell in a handbasket. So what is going on? They are obviously blessed, given beauty, power, and money, and long life. Safe in the world’s most powerful nation, free from tyranny and at little risk of crime. What could make such people so unhappy?
I believe this is what atheism and the lack of faith in a loving God looks like. With only one life to live, faced with the certainty of death, old age, and loss of health, these folks are desperately afraid. All that they have and all that they were will soon be dust in the wind. They look towards the future and see only blackness and the void. With no loving God, the world is completely vulnerable and its only hope is people like themselves, “doing something.” It matters not that their efforts often cause great harm because it isn’t about actually doing something helpful, it’s about feeling like they are doing something. With almost no education in history and science, and an almost paranoid view of technology and science, they resort to social engineering and focus on what they are most outraged about in the world, “unfairness.” It is just so unfair that Babs is getting older, losing her youth and voice, with more than 2/3 of her life spent, helpless to do anything to avoid death and the loss of all her power, money, and belongings. Most Democrats/liberals do not go to church, are not religious, are dreadfully lacking in basic scientific knowledge, have little knowledge of history and what they do know is distorted and is depressing to them. They are unable to connect events and outcomes, and while deeply cynical of good news, they believe every tale of woe. The fact that so few people, around 400, died from the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant disaster (note is was not an accident but suicidal incompetence at every level and design), and so few developed cancer, around 4000, is just not part of the liberal history book. The fact that journalistic and misuse of scientific data frightened many people into thinking they were already dead so why marry, why go to college, why carry my child to term, why stop drinking or smoking, why do anything to keep on living, likely caused many more deaths than the disaster. And now the cleanest and best power source the world will ever have is banned in many nations. The words nuclear and radiation evoke panic and unreasoning fear – look at what the liberals say about nuclear waste, “It will still be radioactive 40,000 even a million years from now!” Even burying it under a mountain is not sufficient as if that was not the place where the uranium ore came from in the first place.
