If Biden truly thinks that Hillary Clinton is more qualified than he to be President, and, he really is working in the best interest of America as he always claims…why did he run against Hillary in the Primary?
Right after Gov. Palin’s first speech on Aug. 29th, I joked that it wouldn’t shock me if Sen. Biden suddenly had some health concerns (say, a previously undiagnosed heart ailment) that would grant him an excuse to withdraw from the campaign.
After what he said, above, that is starting to look very much possible now.
Yes, it seems that we may be prepared for Biden being dumped. As catastrophic as his nomimation is, it would be an order of magnitude more catastrophic if he is dumped. What does it say about Obama’s decision making? Of his sincerity? Of what you see is what you get?
Also, what price will the Clinton’s exact? Will we get Clinton policies instead of Obama policies? Is the proposition that we are really electing a Clinton?
Can Americans have any faith in the electoral process?
As are all his speeches.
I sometimes wondered if Obama really wants to win this Fall. There are several topics that he should not address:
houses (reminds people of the deal he got from a convicted felon)
experience (reminds people of his complete lack of same)
affirmative action (reminds people that all his honors at Harvard might have been given not earned)
Looks like judgement might be another to add to the list.
But you can’t pay attention to what Biden says – he talks without thinking. Today he asked a man in a wheelchair to stand and be acknowledged.
As you could tell from my previous comment, I agree, however I do not know if it is meaningless.
Others here suggesting that this is a call or plea to the Clintons to help more may not be far off. Joe knew that this would “have legs” on the media circuit.
It could be an indication that Senators Obama and Biden are not getting the support they desire from Sen. Clinton. If so, there is meaning in that. However, this is purely speculative.

One or two more gaffs like this, and Obummer won’t need any more excuses to throw this idiot on the garbage heap. I’d love to see this clip on Fox News with just that headline.

Either that, or they’re sucking up to Hillary, and her voters, in an attempt to neutralize the Palin effect. If Hillary were to take the VP slot, she’ll never be President. I doubt if that will happen. She’s almost certainly will be the nominee in ‘12 if Obama loses and she’s counting on that.

For Obama to have any benefit at this point from getting rid of Biden, it has to be done really fast.
The longer it takes, the more he will appear to have been a ditherer. Dithering is not a quality that presidential candidates want to convey.
Frankly, I think Obama is stuck with Joe. For Biden to say this is pretty bad. There aren’t any good options for the O-campaign.
I still find it hard to believe that Hillary would want to play second-fiddle to this cipher of a candidate. Particularly at this late hour — what would be the attraction in becoming Obama’s Titanic-deck-chair-rearranger?
Someone needs to ask Obama, publicly, this question: “If it looks like you are losing, will you pull Hillary back onto the ticket to save your campaign?”

Every day Obama doesn’t swap out Biden and take up Clinton is another day of slippage. Swapping would dominate the news cycles for a couple days, but would never be particularly good video.
This was no “slow Joe” mistake. They are going after Hillary voters and need to act like they love her.

I think it would have to be an illness or some other ‘device’ to absolve Obamessiah of responsibility for an insufficient vetting of Obiden. Anything less and it reflects again on his judgment and decision making ability, which frankly can’t withstand another major hit!

If there is any move that panders to women, it would be bringing Hillary on the ticket (after having rejected her with no vetting whatsoever) and dumping Biden (who was vetted).
You may want to look at a Dick Morris artcle that covers this scenario. Way too many negatives. Even if pulled off, the White House will be in chaos.

Then again, let’s not forget, Biden is the smartest man in the room…just ask him.
He can’t switch out Hillary for Joe even if he wants to.
First, he doesn’t want to. No politician in their right mind would Hillary in the second spot and, by extension, Bill in the shadow seat. Being president is hard enough — opposition party, Congress, Russia, etc — without having two other people who think they no your job better than you do looking over your shoulder (and the entire press corps looking over theirs).
Second, it would make him look wishy-washy and reactive.
Third, meeting McCain’s femi-pander with a further femi-pantsuit pander would be ineffective.
Fourth, it would roil the party and the campaign for weeks when there ain’t much time left.
Fifth, Biden was chosen in part for his many years of foreign policy experience. If Obama put in Hillary, we’d just hear all that stuff about how being First Lady doesn’t count as real experience.
Sixth, everyone plays identity politics to some extent (if they can). Given the number of white guys who vote, it’s never a bad idea to have a white guy prominently displayed on the ticket.
In sum, it would be a lot of hassle, he’d look bad and it would cost votes.

I’ve been saying on my blog and others for the past few weeks that Biden will have some revelation that will cause him to ASK to be dropped from the ticket (don’t worry – he’ll get a cabinet level post) and Hillary will climb ob board the Bus – with the promise that Billy-Boy will get some kind of honoraria.
THE ONE has gotten no bounce from Biden, and in fact the selection makes it look (look?) like he knows he has ZERO experience to hold the office. His friends in the MSM have ignored his pleas to leave Gov. Palin’s family out of the mix (chuckle), and the terminally mentally deficient KosKids continue to drool on their keyboards at conservative sites. He has to do something to up the ante – what else does he have?

My guess is that this is just prep for Biden bowing out to get Hillary in. It’s the only way Obama can pull out of this and win at this point (at least with a strong lead).
