Lipstick jungle: Team McCain responds
McCain’s ad team is working 24/7. They are capitalizing on Obama’s botched lipstick joke (“Lipstick Bungle” in the immortal NYPost headline writers’ words) and pounding him hard:
I’ve always said that mockery is the better medicine when it comes to Obama. But he’s been such a thug, I’m not feeling sorry for him at all this morning.
The RNC had great fun giving away tire gauges after The One promoted tire inflation to solve the energy crisis.
I’m thinking the McCain campaign store should come up with some cute lipstick-themed gear — maybe lipstick keychains? Or t-shirts with a lip print and “Kiss Off, Obama!” I know our Photoshoppers out there will come up with fun stuff.
I’d buy.

Reader Patrick e-mails that he attended the Ohio McCain-Palin rally yesterday: “I was with my wife at the rally today I thought you should know that a lot of women in the crowd were holding up their lipstick to Sarah.” (This was before Obama’s pig remarks, Patrick notes.)
Yes, Team McCain should definitely get some official lipstick products out for sale. They will sell like hotcakes.

Doesn’t matter. The fact is he’s made a lot of people really mad with this remark. Plus, he’s casually dismissing it all “phoney controversy”. He could make this all go away with a simple apology. However, he’s either too stupid or too arrogant to admit that he said something that hurt people. One thing is for certain – it’s not going to help him win back any of the women that switch to McCain’s side after the initial round of Palin attacks.
When did he say that? Is this what you are referring to? He is discussing world fertility rates and what it means for caucasians. What part of his commentary do you find so objectionable?
Maybe you are refering to some statements he has made to the effect that admitting 45 miilion poorly educated, third world immigrants would be the end of America as we know it. That would be the net influx of a general amnesty as 15 million illegals would be permitted to bring their family members here. You may disagree with this assesment but to say Pat Buchanen said “Mexicans would result in the death of civilization” is just, well, a smear. Instead of of addressing the issue he raises you shout “See? He’s a racist. Don’t listen to him!”
Wow, this is an interesting one. I’m sure somewhere in the comment section someone has corrected the phrase Obama used. The old saw is “perfume on a pig” not “lipstick on a pig”. So, the remark is either a snide tongue-in-cheek smear or a really bad Freudian slip. Either way Obama is going to have his work cut out for him trying to side-step this one.
it’s amazing that anyone who runs against obama has these smears occur that no one can link to any obama person. they just fall from heaven. like sealed court documents. but when obama wants something sealed, it stays sealed. like ayers papers. no one will ever be able to find fingerprints on the documents, but the only people with the interest and the clout are the obama team.
Alaska borders on two foreign countries. Palin has to know about long range Russian bombers that are on maneuvers next to the Alaskan boarder and how to respond in conjunction with NORAD. So it’s a smear in reality.
Russian Bombers have a habit of testing the responses of all nations entering their airspace. Palin is inside that loop.
He didn’t intend it as a joke. Period.
This just keeps getting better and better each day, boys and girls.
Best sign in a crowd in Wisconsin last weekend at a McCain/Palin rally:
READ MY LIPSTICK!
McCain/Palin ’08
Uuuuuhbamuuuuhh delivered the line with the same smirky, full of self, facial expressions as Reverend Wright did with his famous lines. There is absolutely no doubt he was making a jab at Gov Palin.
This is another narcissistic trait…..they will say ANYTHING. The stress is getting to THE ONE and it is showing. I look forward to his continued unraveling. With his personality disorders its inevitable. Better now than when POTUS.

You could tell he was fustrated and letting off steam when he said it. Anyone who pays close attention to tone and espression could see it. But I’ll give it to Obama he’s a smooth talker.

Be careful about throwing stones in your glass house. Your candidate stated at one point he would debate McCain anywhere and anytime — another promise that will go unfilled by the Obamessiah.
That’s a keeper!
Well, the Democrats are now posting a picture of a pig with lipstick and glasses on the Party’s website:
http://www.democrats.org/page/community/post/elizabethberry/Cgsq
You’re just a racist. We’re all just racists. Why can’t we see that, admit it, and start doling out some reparations, already?? I’m recommending a taxpayer-funded tube of lipstick.
I didn’t use to be. But living in Southern California, I am now…
I WANT MY FIREWOOD BACK!
The video is no longer available.
“Perception is truth”
Obama isn’t stupid, he got the perception he wanted, he just didn’t think there would be any republicans sober or smart enough to catch his oh-so-sly slander of the Governor of Alaska.
Ha, they pulled the ad off Youtube
Did Obama’s campaign thugs demand a take down, or did it offend the YouTube censors? Or is the question redundant?
That’s the left wing google for ya…free speech as long as they like it.
PKAmmoTroop said (#217):
And McCain is trying to create the perception. Watch the video, read the transcript. He’s just returning a line McCain used against him.
I said:
Actually McCain used it when referring to Hillary’s policy, not Obama’s.
Baraco Bama went crying to YouTube about this ad, so YouTube, like a good Obama ball-sniffer, deleted it.
Actually, you can still get the URL for the video from the video link above. (Mouse over the up arrow at the lower right and click the icon that pops up.) When I used the URL to go to the video on YouTube’s site I got this message:
It looks like CBS didn’t like the McCain campaign’s use of The Perky One in their ad. I guess they {conveniently} forgot about the concept of fair use in copyright law.
YouTube water carriers have taken down the McCain video.
Obama is demonstrating the same ineptitude as Hillary once the protective media shield is removed.
The pig jokes are too worn out for any Candidates to use them. How about some fresh jokes. Palin’s pitbull joke was new. Obama doesn’t know how to be funny except to say snide things which make liberals laugh. The more I see of him, the less I can stand him.
How can Obama write this off when Governor Paterson of New York is shouting that the term “community organizer” is veiled racism and really means “black.” The same guy that says this isn’t a smear and it is phony rage is running around touting that McCain is going to say that “he doesn’t look like the other Presidents” and that he has a “funny name” and that he is (gasp) “black.”
Ok, seriously… I call B.S. You’ve just jumped off the cliff with the rest of the brain-dead lemmings. And you’re not getting a pass this time.
Alaska has always had foreign policy challenges, being separated from the US mainland, and being on the Soviet frontlines during the cold war. But that’s just the state.
Sarah Palin negotiated a pipeline deal with Canada worth hundreds of millions of dollars, which will hugely impact America’s energy future. So either you believe that Canada is part of the US, or you’re ignorant of the deal, or you’re just being a real jerk. So which is it?
Her experience may not measure up to your expectations for a VP, but for you to parrot the line of “zero experience with foreign policy” is simply you, knowingly repeating a lie. This says more about you and your ethics/morals than it does about her level of foreign policy experience.
I will forgive him when he says: Now folks, let’s call a spade a spade!
I think Sarah ought to come out and say B rock has got it mixed up…..she’s the pitbull, lipstick and all and he’s the pig!!!! I also would love to see a pic of him with lipstick scribbled all over it and off to the side written in lipstick,” yup he’s still a pig!”
Sorry, lgm, but if the reaction of my wife and seven other women I asked at work is any indication, Obama stepped in it big time.
About 3/4 of these women were Democrats too.
True, and actually that quote is a smear by omission. Belittling Palin by calling her a “mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience” is just as accurate (maybe more so) as calling Obama a community organizer with no foreign policy experience.
It is simply amazing how afraid of Palin the Democrats are. You can see it in the strident yet desperate defenses of Obama’s clumsy attacks, and the smears and missrepresentations of Palin they offer as evidence of her unsuitability to the job of VP ring hollow.
