Obama: Attacks on me are unpatriotic!
You know my favorite part of Barack Obama’s response to the lipstick bungle? It’s this obnoxious phrase, which hasn’t been remarked upon much today:
“I don’t care what they say about me but I love this country too much to let them take over another election…”
Yes, yes, because Obama is Truth, Justice, and the American Way! And all who dare mock him or challenge his Absolute Moral Authority suffer from patriotism deficiency.
He loves his country so much he sent his lawyers to stifle the free speech of television stations running ads critical of his terror ties.
He loves his country so much he slimed investigative journalist Stanley Kurtz and pushed his cult followers to shut down Chicago radio station WGN and host Milt Rosenberg, who probed Obama’s ties to terrorist Bill Ayers and his failed educational projects.
And then he goes and complains about “lies and phony outrage and Swift Boat politics.”
Such a selfless champion of our great nation.
I’m reminded of that old quote attributed to William Randolph Hearst: “A politician will do anything to keep his job, even become a patriot.”

I, too, saw that clip tonight…..and it occured to me that that was the first time I had heard him utter those words, “I love this country”. Pretty sad considering he’s running for president.
How much of their campaign donations are Obama and the DNC wasting in sending their “investigators and lawyers” to Alaska? I haven’t seen evidence that the RNC or McCain campaign is sending loads of people to HI, IL, or DE to track down dirt.
McCain & Palin are hitting Obama & Biden on the issues and Barry and Joe can’t take it. Their supposed cake walk to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is becoming very uphill and they are showing the fatigue already.
All one really needs to know about this clown is – he has the utter AUDACITY to write TWO (2!) autobiographies about himself at age 44. TWO! Men twice his age who have contributed great things to society and this nation refuse to write self-serving, egotistical drivel, preferring history to define them. THIS clown writes his own, after accomplishing absolutely NOTHING of substance in his life.

His “interview” with O’Reilly where he discussed policy for Iraq was the perfect example. He absolutely REFUSED to admit that he was wrong to oppose the Surge; however, he will all too willing to concede it’s “success beyond our wildest expectations.” BS, McCain told you it would work. Listen up, Obama. You might learn something.
You will NEVER hear Obama say he is ’sorry’ in the context of an apology. Not to himself, not to his “friends” and certainly not to the American people.
And yet, half the country wants him to become president. That’s the outrage.
He’s the spoiled little boy who grew up, never was denied anything, and given passes the whole way. The real world has arrived and he’s clueless.
He has no idea how to respond to criticism.

Yeah, Obummer loves this country so much that he has a spotty record on the first and second amendments. If you criticize him on the air with an in-depth look at some of his “associations” or a commercial that questions some of his “loyalties”, his campaign will try to shut you down. If you own a gun and want to defend your property, family, or person, he’s been noted for supporting gun control at the state level.
Obummer loves this country? Since when? When he became a politician? Or when he decided that he couldn’t change things at the community level and decided he needed more political power to effect change. I think he’s got that backwards.
If you really love this country, you love it warts and all. You love it for the good and the bad times. You love it even when it tears your heart out to see it going down the tubes because of all the political in-fighting, corruption, hypocrisy, self-interest ahead of selflessness, and ineptitude that goes on in Washington.
I don’t see this selfless love in Obummer. I see a person who (as he has mentioned in his convention speech) mentions how America is the greatest country in the world but that we still need to change it. What the hell does that mean?
Obummer wants an America that fits his worldview. In his words, he doesn’t see the country as it is, but the way it “should be.” He doesn’t like the warts and the imperfections and would rather remove anything resembling the America and how it was founded.
This is the same man claming that he thought about joining the military before there was even a selective service! This man has a hyperpartisan view of an America that’s only fit to live for liberals and the rest of us can just got to hell with our bibles, guns, and culture.
Obummer can sing a different tune all day long, it will still have the same old, liberal melody attached.
Well, he’s only speaking for those of us who know bottom-feeding Republicans will do anything — lie, cheat, steal, throw dirt in your eyes, sucker punch your mother and then protest your eating arugula (don’t even MENTION gherkins) — to win.

In Obummer, I see an ambitious politician but I don’t really see any true love of this country. This man can dish it out with all the smearing he does about McCain, lobbyists, and Pres. Bush all day long, not talking issues, but he can’t take it if it’s directed toward him. What’s he doing running for president then?
This from the same man who is just gleeful about his lack of support for the Iraq War, and not supporting the surge. The military (most of them) see him for what he is… and what Washington is. He’s never commanded anything or been in charge of anything like McCain has and that kind of experience counts with military and their families.
Obama’s autobiographies remind me of how, in 1991, The success of “Ice Ice Baby” led Vanilla Ice to publish his necessarily thin (and partially fabricated) autobiography. Mr. Ice was under the impression, at that time, that he was a rock star. He is still “famous” now, as an archetype example of a one hit wonder, who has occasionally become quite unraveled. Not that he ever went on Letterman to try (and fail miserably at) damage control – that would be WAY off the deep end.

For a person who constantly complains about Republicans criticizing Obummer’s dietary habits, there’s some other valid arguments you’re missing. What are his plans for the military? Who and what will he tax? How is he going to “improve” health care? Education? Illegal immigration? Iraq? Among others.
All I hear is so much sloganeering, and at 33, I’ve heard this from other Dem candidates before. Does Al Gore’s lock box ring a bell? I want real, practical details from BOTH candidates, not the same old Rove tactics that Obummer is employing right now digging up dirt on Sarah Palin and the constant linking between McCain and Pres. Bush.
McCain is no Pres. Bush. He opposed many Bush proposals, and didn’t support the overzealous spending by the Republicans. When Obummer actually makes some ads or speeches regarding what he’ll actually do, then perhaps we’ll get back to the issues.
If you’re silly enough to belief that Republicans are “bottom-feeders” and Dems don’t engage in similar tactics or even worse (like tearing down the Palin family), then you need to wake up. Then again, you’re naive enough to believe Obummer’s fabrications and the lies he told over the years. He is no new politician, just the same Dem model with a new face.
There’s more discourse going on about your candidate than just the superficial.

I think his comments leave McCain in an interesting spot. Obama’s accusing him of cutting and running on immigration “reform”. McCain, in all likelihood, won’t take that very well but what does he do? If he defends himself on immigration and reiterates his reform plan, some people who have become McCain converts because of Palin might decide to go back to their no LOTE policy. On the other hand, if McCain doesn’t say anything, he may lose some of the Hispanic voters that he gained during the immigration debate. It’ll be interesting to see which side he chooses.

We had immigration reform in 86 and look where we are today. Immigration is not a new issue Ike had his immigration problems, can you recall the operation he launched? Before that TR had his, read some of his writings and you will see the same worries we have today. The same worries, the same problems yet this time we are going to say, ok, we surrender? America is what it is precisely because of immigration, immigration that until recently was well regulated and selective. If we want to keep America going forward as it has since our founding we cannot throw away the rules that we have used to get us there and expect the same outcome.
I agree with you completely and by no means am I saying we should just surrender. Far from. I think both Obama and McCain’s plans for “reform” are seriously lacking. But McCain has more to lose in how he handles it than Obama. Obama won’t lose a significant amount of votes based on the immigration issue. McCain could.

If you’re a white or Hispanic representative and have a large black constituency and would like some insight to that groups needs, you can go screw yourself as far as the black caucus is concerned, you’re not good enough to meet with them because of your skin color.
And a Hispanic is a person here in the western hemisphere with descendants from Hispania or whose descendants got their butts kicked by people from Hispania.
Hispania was the name given by the Romans to the whole of the Iberian Peninsula (modern Portugal, Spain, Andorra, Gibraltar and a very small southern part of France).

I’d like to know how one “takes over” an election? Did they “take” over” the 2000 election? 2004? I seem to recall our presidents are democratically elected.
