Thing is, his speech writers knew exactly what they were doing when they put it in and the comparisons that would be drawn. A you can see clearly by the reaction of the people in the stands. THEY ALL went there with him. THEY, the Obama supporter are the ones who jumped on it first, except THEY liked it.
You can actually tell, right before he goes there, that he is a bit nervous, he stammers a bit, get’s quiet, then goes for it. It was his bed and he chose to sleep in it.

You know, I find this whole thing silly frankly. I use that phrase quite often. It is simply a figure of speech. I really don’t think he was calling Palin a pig. I may be wrong but I have yet to hear anything that made me think differently. This is being thin skinned like all the race hustlers out there (think “black hole” is racist). Looking for something to be outraged. IMHO of course.
I agree that policy is the way to beat Obama. He’s an empty suit with nothing to run on. I’m hoping the debates will show this. That being said, this issue is going to dog him (no pun intended). I’m think the easiest way to end it is just say “If I offended anyone, I’m sorry” and that’ll be it.

1. This victimzation of Sarah Palin can:
-cost McCain the election. (I hope so.)
-get enough shrill, close minded women to join the victimation campaign, and help McCain win the campaign.
-set the spin going for Palin to quit the campaign if a) there’s something really damaging on her out there that can’t be overcome, or b) she proves to not be ready for primetime and becomes a liability.
She could quit in a teary press conference where she mentions protecting her family 2 dozen times. The repubs will hope the illogical female outrage will cause them to vote against Obama.

Regarding the economy, McCain will stimulate growth because he has faith in the market of capitalism. Obama is too heavy on the tax side, mainly because he’s too afraid to say no in spite of being free of “lobbyists.”
