Whoopi to McCain: Do you want me to be a slave again? (Video added)

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 12, 2008 01:10 PM

Scroll down for added video…Whoopi to McCain: “Should I worry about being a slave?”

Did you watch “The View” (or rather, “The Spew”) today. I didn’t. I’m trying to watch my blood pressure. Many readers did tune in — and watched in disbelief and disgust as the hysterical liberal women gone wild derided Sarah Palin and grilled John McCain, who made a guest appearance with his wife.

The e-mail is coming in:

Hey Michelle! Did you catch the view today? Seriously who listens to these women? And did you catch Whoopie’s question if she should be concerned about becoming a slave again because John Mcccain would want judges who judge based on the Constitution?! Seriously! She should be ashamed.

Is she trying to portray him a racist?! And if you watch the whole interview watch her facial expressions and posture. She looks like a 14-year-old, slouching, rolling her eyes. Ugh! Like when they were looking at his tape of being set free and he was telling them what he was feeling at the time, she looked like she was so bored. I bet if Obama was there and that was him being set free she would have sat straight up and cried. I really hate this election. I don’t understand why people have to be so nasty to someone they don’t agree with!

Signed a fellow south jersey gal

Reader Brent H.:

I hope either you or the guys over at HotAir can get up some clips of McCain on The View from this morning. Walters, Goldberg, and some of the other were absolutely hysterical. They were rude, interrupted him frequently, asked loaded questions then yelled at him for not answering they way THEY wanted.

McCain was great, took it all in stride. Cindy McCain came on later and was flawless. The contrast between the class of the McCains and the unhinged attacks being thrown face-to-face is very illustrative.

Reader Katie in Charlotte:

Hi Michelle,

I am a faithful reader and I’ve been watching your blog very closely over the past few weeks. Thanks for everything you do!

I’m watching The View (why I put myself through this – I don’t know) and the ladies are talking about Sarah Palin’s Charlie Gibson interview. It was their first hot topic of the day.

Their first comments on the interview: “She was obviously very well briefed.” Not that she did a good job, but that she was well briefed. Would anyone in the media say that Obama is well briefed on the issues? Doubtful, they would say he knows the issues. Even if that is not the case!

I’d like to see Joy and Barbara describe the Bush doctrine succinctly. Bill Sammon was on Fox discussing how that term has different meanings to different people, and Gibson should have known that. This show drives me nuts – way to be all for women, ladies.

Just wanted to share my thoughts with you!

Katie

Class vs. crass. It’s the emerging theme of this campaign.

Speaking of crass: How about that Pamela Anderson telling Sarah Palin to “suck it?”

Nice Hollyweird role model there, eh?

I don’t know how familiar you guys are with Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, but there is a quote in both the book and the movie that is transferable. I can remember the narator, Lady Galadriel, in the first movie, The Fellowship of the Ring stating:

….and they were slaves to his will

…. referencing the human kings of old taking the rings of power which were under the control of Sauron the Deceiver.

If this isn’t a sci-fi example of what the Dems have done to black people their entire lives, I don’t know what is.

Hey MM – remember the 3 people that were killed by the 16 time offender last week in Aurora? We buried themm yesterday.

    And look at this today:

There’s a *30* time offender we got this week.

Another illegal immigrant case rocks Aurora

Aurora police said Thursday that for the second time in a week they have arrested an illegal immigrant after a highly dangerous crash on the city’s streets.

Officers arrested Hipolito Vasquez Rojas, 19, after he and a 16-year-old male accomplice allegedly stole a car, crashed into a police car, plowed into a tree and then led officers on a foot chase Wednesday night.

Rojas, who police say is a gang member, was deported in April following his release from the Adams County Jail after serving time for auto theft. It is not known how he turned up five months later in connection with a robbery and shooting.

“This is a reality for our police officers every day. We are getting beat up as to why we’re not doing more? The question posed to ICE should be why isn’t more being done to shut down the porous border?” said Aurora Police spokesman Bob Friel.

Court and police records show that Rojas has an extensive criminal history, including 30 felony and misdemeanor arrests mostly in Aurora for eluding police, auto theft and illegally possessing a weapon and other charges.

Rojas was also wanted by Adams County for failure to appear in court on an auto theft charge and on a national extradition warrant.

He now is being held for investigation of first-degree attempted homicide, criminal intent for first-degree assault and auto theft, police said.

WHEN WILL THE IDIOTS IN DC FINALLY BUILD OUR FENCE?

Our police here in Aurora are dealing with revolving doors in Denver (Including Adams county to the N of us), ICE that doesnt answer phone calls, and a border that is wide open to repeat criminals.

    NO MORE SANCTUARY CITIES.

    BUILD THE FENCE.

Sorry for the threadjack, but enough is enough.

While the way she said it was more than stupid, I think it’s a valid question actually. Moreover, I think it’s a valid question to ask anyone suggesting any “return to the past”.

Here’s the problem. McCain characterized his view as one of seeing things the way the founding fathers did. Well, the founding fathers didn’t let women vote and had slaves. Women had no property rights or any other rights for that matter. So honestly, I think it’s a fair question.

McCain should have said that he believes that the constitution should be interpreted as it’s written and that the founding fathers wrote the words to make their intent obvious. If it’s not written in the constitution, it’s supposed to be left to the states.

Then when Whoopie asked the question, McCain could have said, “there’s nothing in the constitution as written that allowed slavery. And even in slavery, it wasn’t a judicial fiat that struck it down, it was a constitutional amendment. If you have to guarantee a right then don’t ask the 9 judges who came up with 3/5 of a man, you go directly to the people with 2/3 of congress and 3/4 of the states. And we did that.”

I don’t see the problem with that question, honestly. McCain should have known better than to phrase his stance that way. It’s like saying you want family values like in the 50′s. You know someone’s going to come up with, “so I should have to use separate drinking fountains? those values?”

Walters reveals more than she ever meant to. For one, she’s a racist, and two, she’s a condescending patriarch (that just doesn’t just apply to men). So, if Obummer loses, black people won’t get the same handouts they got before.

Why can’t black people take care of themselves is what I want to know? I grew up in hard financial times where money was tight but I still made it. Why can’t they? Or does their skin tone give them an automatic excuse and instant trip to being a welfare recipient?

While the way she said it was more than stupid, I think it’s a valid question actually. Moreover, I think it’s a valid question to ask anyone suggesting any “return to the past”.

Asking him if he wants her to be a slave again is a valid question? Only in bizarro world. The only thing that question shows is the inherent bias in most liberals. They assume that all Republicans are racists and loved, loved, loved slavery. Check the history on that… you may be surprised.

Here’s the problem. McCain characterized his view as one of seeing things the way the founding fathers did. Well, the founding fathers didn’t let women vote and had slaves. Women had no property rights or any other rights for that matter. So honestly, I think it’s a fair question.

Black people owned slaves… let’s not make this about black vs. white. It was a stupid question and no amount of mental gymnastics will change that.

I don’t see the problem with that question, honestly. McCain should have known better than to phrase his stance that way. It’s like saying you want family values like in the 50’s. You know someone’s going to come up with, “so I should have to use separate drinking fountains? those values?”

That idea would only pop into the mind of a liberal. Because of the inherent bias they have towards Republicans. I’m a Republican and I’m black do you think there would be any way in the world that I would support such a thing? Why do you think that McCain would support such a thing. There is nothing in his track record that conveys; any support of returning black people to slavery. It’s time to start thinking outside of the box.

A psychologist named Dennis Waitley stated in the 1980s that most people do not progess beyond emotional adolescence. I see what he means now.

I would like to see how feasible it would be to dump the cable service and download TV using streaming media. That has to be the next model for TV (versus braodcasting). Then you can cut out the MSM practically altogether and just stick it to them.

Not to mention that what Hollywood puts out is really annoying. Just keep it up, Hollywood. It’s not as if you’re good at what you do, and it’s not as if we really need you.

This soooo reminds me of the fable: The Tortoise and The Hare.

Once upon a time a hare saw a tortoise walking slowly along and began to laugh and mock him. The tortoise challenged the hare to a race and the hare, thinking himself the fastest animal around, accepted. They agreed on a route and started off the race. The hare shot ahead and ran briskly for some time. Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought he’d sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race.

He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise, plodding on, overtook him and finished the race. The hare woke up and realized that he had lost the race.

The moral, stated at the end of the fable, is, “Slow and steady wins the race.”
