Whoopi to McCain: Do you want me to be a slave again? (Video added)

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 12, 2008 01:10 PM

Scroll down for added video…Whoopi to McCain: “Should I worry about being a slave?”

Did you watch “The View” (or rather, “The Spew”) today. I didn’t. I’m trying to watch my blood pressure. Many readers did tune in — and watched in disbelief and disgust as the hysterical liberal women gone wild derided Sarah Palin and grilled John McCain, who made a guest appearance with his wife.

The e-mail is coming in:

Hey Michelle! Did you catch the view today? Seriously who listens to these women? And did you catch Whoopie’s question if she should be concerned about becoming a slave again because John Mcccain would want judges who judge based on the Constitution?! Seriously! She should be ashamed.

Is she trying to portray him a racist?! And if you watch the whole interview watch her facial expressions and posture. She looks like a 14-year-old, slouching, rolling her eyes. Ugh! Like when they were looking at his tape of being set free and he was telling them what he was feeling at the time, she looked like she was so bored. I bet if Obama was there and that was him being set free she would have sat straight up and cried. I really hate this election. I don’t understand why people have to be so nasty to someone they don’t agree with!

Signed a fellow south jersey gal

Reader Brent H.:

I hope either you or the guys over at HotAir can get up some clips of McCain on The View from this morning. Walters, Goldberg, and some of the other were absolutely hysterical. They were rude, interrupted him frequently, asked loaded questions then yelled at him for not answering they way THEY wanted.

McCain was great, took it all in stride. Cindy McCain came on later and was flawless. The contrast between the class of the McCains and the unhinged attacks being thrown face-to-face is very illustrative.

Reader Katie in Charlotte:

Hi Michelle,

I am a faithful reader and I’ve been watching your blog very closely over the past few weeks. Thanks for everything you do!

I’m watching The View (why I put myself through this – I don’t know) and the ladies are talking about Sarah Palin’s Charlie Gibson interview. It was their first hot topic of the day.

Their first comments on the interview: “She was obviously very well briefed.” Not that she did a good job, but that she was well briefed. Would anyone in the media say that Obama is well briefed on the issues? Doubtful, they would say he knows the issues. Even if that is not the case!

I’d like to see Joy and Barbara describe the Bush doctrine succinctly. Bill Sammon was on Fox discussing how that term has different meanings to different people, and Gibson should have known that. This show drives me nuts – way to be all for women, ladies.

Just wanted to share my thoughts with you!

Katie

Class vs. crass. It’s the emerging theme of this campaign.

Update: Here’s the vid clip…

Speaking of crass: How about that Pamela Anderson telling Sarah Palin to “suck it?”

Nice Hollyweird role model there, eh?

Put a huge, impermiable wall in between so they can’t jump the fence to our side. Lefties would run their country into the dust and be begging for our help.

Forget splitting up the country – send the liberals to Canada, where the infrastructure for their PC tyranny is already in place and save the poor Canadians forced to deal with that insanity by bringing them here.

THEN build a 30′ wall at the US/Canadian border, complete with shark-infested moats and let the liberals create their utopia with the Messiah as their leader.

You would think that the sheer number of far lefties on that show would make them comfortable enough to have a single, strong conservative panelist, but they lack so much confidence in their arguments that they opted for a lightweight like Hasselbeck.

One of our greatest weaknesses is the ignorance of the average person. I wonder how may people watching this exchange had as one of their first thoughts that the Supreme Court changes the Constitution?

Of course, that is wrong. In our system of government, SCOTUS (is supposed to) interprets the law by using the Constitution as it guide. The basic question they answer is whether or not the law(s) of the case before the justices is valid in the “eyes” of the Constitution.

As all of us should know, the Constitution was amended to ban slavery; it was not changed by a ruling of the Supreme Court.

Also, if we all understand how our system of government is set up, then we should expect our politicians to choose and/or approve of people who will interpret the law based on the Constitution and nothing outside of that–other countries’ law, world opinion, etc.–as Supreme Court justices.

Everyone needs to note that while Barbara Walters is not an African- American, she did sleep with one at a Holiday Inn.

When asked why she did so many Sister Act movies, Whoopi explained, “me and director Emile Ardolino developed a close personal relationship. Once he got into the habit he just wouldn’t leave me alone”.

But she does tell me about the show. She’s always said the same thing: Hassleback is only a semi-conserv., and a weak one at best. From the few times I’ve watched it w/her, I can see it.

Conserv. shows saved radio. I remember, prior to Limbaugh, there was a move to convert AM commercial bands to CB/Govnmnt Use bands, because listenership was almost unmeasurable.

I remember the hide’n’seek they did w/Limbaugh’s TV show. Even then, moving it all around & at all hours, it still had huge ratings.

Couldn’t something along the same lines as “The Shrew”, but substantive and with even #s of Conservs & Libs be done?

I am certain it would take off! I’ve had a look at the ratings book for Beck’s TV show, and its a running away success. And that’s even being shackled (to extra-watered-down conservatism) as he is on CNN Headache. I’m certain something in the morning, maybe w/o the shackles, would do even better.

Chattel slavery as an institution was eradicated as a result of the Civil War, but that doesn’t mean that someone like Whoopi Goldberg can’t still be a slave.

She can be a slave to her appetites.

She can be a slave to her negative emotions: to her fears, to her superstitions, to her anger, to her hatred.

She can be a slave to her ignorance.

She can be a slave to her prejudices.

    About 20 years ago I read a quote — I can’t recall the author — which stated,

“The past is useful as a guidepost, but dangerous as a hitching post.”

I’ve remembered it for so long because it has proven to be sound advice. Whoopi Goldberg ought to have it tattooed in reverse on her forehead, so whenever she looks in the mirror she might eventually profit from it, too.

SNL comes back this week. I worry about who the show’s favorite candidate will be. They certainly favored Hillary over Obama, and I think that helped her win over “certain types of voters”, or at least turned some off to Obama. I’m sure they will have some funny Palin stuff, but what will their political viewpoint be? I think Lorne Michaels is a McCain guy, but I would guess that the writers are more liberal. They made Obama look like an a$$ in the primaries. McCain has hosted in the past and did very well.

Obama will be on this week, but I’m sure McCain will make another appearance. Who if anyone will get the coveted slot, Saturday, right before the Nov. 4th election?

This may seem shallow, but you’re nuts if you don’t think this can effect the younger voters a little bit.

    Anyway.

Some of these McCain ads are patently misleading if not outright lies. He was called out on The View. Obama has been misleading and dishonest in his campaign also. These are two POLITICIANS trying to win office. Politics make good men do shady things. As long as it’s legal, it’s all fair.

    BTW,

Don’t act like he’s above being shady. The fella is trying to win the White House, and this is his last shot.
