Anyone else notice how many women featured on the Sunday talk shows? Sara has opened up more doors for women than Clinton ever did. She has also exposed many of these women as frauds whose claim to further womens rights applies ONLY to Democrats. Really makes me sick how they are attacking Palin although I know the more they do it the better off she looks. Still , I am back to feeling betrayed by McCain in regards to Illegal immigration. His new ad didn’t help much. I have yet to hear Palins views on Illegals and maybe that will change my mind but I am back to being depressed about a future that allows a tidal wave of illegals into the country. I fear a third world country is in our future.
Just finished cleaning up broken glass off the kitchen floor – who knew a glass pot lid could smash into so many pieces?
Intentions : study, finances, cleaning, wash clothes.
Probable reality : internet, PC games, feed, watch ‘The Bucket List’ DVD.
It’s the thought that counts.
Thanks Reff. Hope all is well w/your daughter.
Imagine if you will, if McCain had not only given $8ook to ACORN but failed to report it. There would be wailing and gnashing of teeth from our most loyal MM trolls. Instead they rather discuss the so-called Bush Doctrine and use that as proof that Palin isn’t ready for the VP slot. I’m washing my hands of libs, there isn’t an intellectually honest bone in their bodies.
This is quite interesting. McCain did a lengthy sit-down interview with Jorge Ramos from Univision after the convention.

Does anyone know if Geraldo is blowing bubbles in TX???
Hypocrite of the day: Claire McCaskill (D – of course)
Now, if this was a corporation complaining about someone’s age and health, the EEOC would be on their front door within seconds.
I think Georgie old boy needs to start focusing on why Obama is fit to be president, not about past cancer occurrences with McCain. Yes, he did have melanoma, but he is screened all the time. If it came back, it’s not like you’re going to die overnight.
Besides, anything can happen to anyone. Someone could be hit by a bus and die.
zorro:
McCain has shown that he is willing to listen. Obama has not.
McCain is for building The Fence. Obama is not.
We need to first get that Fence built and then deal with immigration reform.
What are the odds that we will have more success with McCain in listening to us than we would with Obama? Much higher.
Not voting is a vote for Obama. Is that what you want? Would you rather have Obama in the WH than McCain?
Think about it. A vote for McCain means Obama needs TWO votes to keep up with him. Abstaining from voting gives Obama an edge. Do the math.
It’s hard to believe(but great)that the left is playing the age card heavily now against McCain; They are alienating a very large demographic of voters(50+) who will not take kindly to this; Do they not realize his mom is 96, can still walk and talk, and can carry on a more lucid conversation with someone than Nancy Pelosi.
The appropriate response to this question is, “YOU’D BETTER BELIEVE IT, BUSTER!!!”
How condescending and insulting to assume that foreigners are too stupid or slow to learn the language of the country in which they attend school, because that is exactly what this “bilingual education” pile of rubbish suggests.
Bubbles? It is taking all I have not to complete that thought…..
Aw, man…
Thanks for the laugh. Pelosi is one sad sack of….
aj,
Can I change one of my picks? The Colts are getting shut down.
Kind of an interesting comparison. last Sunday, the talk was about guns, the 2nd Amendment and various things like that. It will be interesting just where this week’s Open Thread will take us.
Who’s Bubbles, there I completed your thought for you.
Looks like Obama is getting his tail kicked in big time in Minnesota by losing a 13 point lead.
Quote of the Week:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpA3kvuazjo
I see Jake Tapper at ABC News confirms what I guessed earlier in the other thread re: McCain doing PC keyboarding.
“Assuredly McCain isn’t comfortable talking about this — and the McCain campaign discouraged me from writing about this — but the reason the aged Arizonan doesn’t use a computer or send email is because of his war wounds.
I realize some of the nastier liberals in the blogosphere will see this as McCain once again “playing the POW card,” but it’s simply a fact: typing on a regular keyboard for any sustained period of time bothers McCain physically.
He can type, he occasionally does type, but in general the injuries he sustained as a POW — ones that make it impossible for him to raise his arms high enough to comb his hair — mean that small tasks make his shoulders ache, so he tries to avoid any repetitive exercise.
Again, it’s not that he can’t type, he just by habit avoids when he can repetitive exercise involving his arms. He does if he has to, as with handshaking or autographs.”
Why Doesn’t McCain Use a Computer?
As long as we don’t go back to the living girdle topic…
As a decades-long Vikings watcher, I’d suggest you keep with the Colts, 30P.
They only have a 9-0 halftime lead (all field goals) and the Vikes routinely blow leads much bigger than that!
And a follow-up by Scott Ott via Allahpundit:
ABC: Yes, McCain’s war injuries limit his ability to use a computer
And here I thought that was about farting underwater.
That’s probably the biggest problem I have with McCain and Bush…lax border policies. McCain definitely needs to get rid of Juan (La Raza) Hernandez.
playing with the Do it yourself Obama poster maker
I don’t want to see Geraldo taken out by a hurricane, I just want to see his airtime become directly proportional to his credibility.
When they say that 80% of Americans believe we are going in the wrong direction, what the heck does that mean?
I can’t imagine 80% of American agreeing to anything.
Yet the dems insist on getting in front of a camera and spew “what Americans want” verbage. How stupid does one have to be?
With 7 weeks left to go until the election, I find it astounding that Obama has YET to release his college or law school transcripts. We have had every Presidential candidate’s transcripts well before this time in every modern election.
And the MSM, instead of taking rectal temperatures on Alaskan caribou, should be all over this.
Anybody in CO. going to see SARAH?
I like to think of it as a friendly rambling confab around the cracker-barrel at “Michelle’s General Store & Sundries”, with folks dropping in and out between their misc Sunday chores.
Man I’m reading that Marxism was actually indirectly related to the Armenian Genocide. I guess you can tack on an extra million or so that communism has killed.
Purplepeep,
It’s all good. I was kidding anyway. aj runs a tight ship.
Admittedly, the Vikings look pretty darn good.
I do… I think that the entire hurricane was just god’s chance to SPIT on the S.O.B.
Actually, the Armenian genocide was a about Muslims vs Christians. Without simplifying too much, there was a combination of things, but it needs to be framed within the context of muslims killing Christians of which Muslim Turks still today will not admit to what they did.
By the way, I’ll take this opportunity to give a shout out to Mistress Justice who once suggested Armenians sit around and make bombs. I guess trying to associate martyered Christian Armenians with terrorist Muslims..just shame on you, but it’s ok, you really don’t know near as much as you give yourself credit for.
Yeh I think I was wrong the Bolsheviks took power after the Armenian Geonocide. It could be there was some influence though.
My question for John McCain is if Armenia is attacked by Azerbaijan. Some of the biggest pipelines in the world run straight through Azerbaijan and bypass Armenia. It raises questions about how stability will be promoted in that region.
Oh, I’m just waiting to see how the Patriots do without Tom Brady. I didn’t watch the game it happened in because I was kind of bored after last season, and when I heard what happened, I thought “We are so screwed.”
By the way, I don’t know how many of you saw this last night, but it’s pretty good. NewLand (freeper) is going to ask the band (Christian rock group Gateway Worship if they will allow the McCain/Palin team to use it as a theme song.
Turn your speakers down a bit. It is loud. But it grows on you. Very catchy!
Governor Sarah Palin Wakes Up The World!
Sorry…not sure if this should even be discussed here on this thread but…
I went over to HA and was reading up on that drunken loser Randi Rhodes and what she said, thought I would lend my take on it, as it were.
Wow. You know, I had absolutely NO idea that GOVERNOR palin had such a close, personal relationship with Randi (1000 Miles of bad) Rhodes. I mean, she must for Mzzzzzz. Rhodes to be such an expert on and have made such a definitive conclusion about just what and who GOVERNOR Palin is.
See, I just cannot imagine how anyone could make such claims concerning GOVERNOR Palin without having been around her for an extended amount of time and spending a considerable amount of time talking with her, getting to know her and her family etc.
I have been doing a considerable amount of research on the current Alaskan GOVERNOR, as have so many others in private and public areas, and I can’t seem to recall a single person, parent or otherwise, who has claimed that they would NEVER allow their children to sleep over at her house, let alone merely visit.
I have not seen ANYONE, ANYWHERE from Alaska who said anything even remotely close to, “She shows up at every party or get together and just starts yelling and being very loud about politics, lawn care and anything else that comes to her mind”. I have not seen or read or heard ANYTHING from ANYONE that could even be remotely confused with, “Boy, that Sarah Palin, she sure is a know it all. I can’t get a word in edgewise, because every time I try, she just shouts me down.”
Heck, I haven’t even seen anyone claim, “I would NEVER allow my children to visit or spend the night at her house”.
I most certainly have not seen anything that even remotely shows that GOVERNOR Palin would even consider having an affair on her husband, let alone would she commit statutory rape on a teenager or anyone else.
I don’t think I have seen or read or heard a more prime example of “Projection” in my quad-decades on this planet. I honestly think that this is the lowest, most disgusting accusation that Liberals have made against GOVERNOR Palin and/or her family to date. I cannot believe just how low this creature has slunk in making this statement.
I shudder to think about what typoes of low-life scumbags she is hanging around with where she would come up with such a thing and feel it is perfectly acceptable to make such a statement publicly. this is the most slanderous thing yet.
I seriously wish that the Palin family would slap this drunken whore with a lawsuit for slander and an attempt at destroying her reputation.
I really wish I could just invite the Palins over to my house for dinner, and let them know that we really do support them, that there are people here in this country that are worth all that she has done, and that we will fight for them against such disgusting, low-life, gutter living crap-weasels.
She and the rest of the Air America staff, (I honestly did not know it was still on the air) have out-lived their time in the spotlight. It is well past the time when they should have been shut down and prosecuted for all the lies they have been spreading since their inception. It is time for a Conservative lawyer or lawyers SOMEWHERE to actually take them on, have them fined or imprisoned or both in the name of honesty and ethics in broadcasting.
To use The Golden Calf’s own words, “Enough is enough”.
Well, they did manage to add a touchdown, so it’s 12-0 now with the Vikings on the Colts 10 yd line – they’re looking a bit sharper today.
But the key is to expect the Vikes to find some way to lose and enjoy trying to guess how they’ll do it!
Now, if we were talkin’ the 70s Vikings they did some major butt-kickin’.
http://copiousdissent.blogspot.com/2008/09/lying-king-sarah-palin-parity-voice.html
SUPER DUPER FUNNY
I’d suggest Sarah punch Rhodes teeth out – but from I’ve read, after getting falling-down drunk one time too many, Randi has no teeth left.
I think most people believe that the McCain/Palin immigration “view” cannot possibly be worse than that of Obama/Biden…….but your fear of a third-world USA in the not to distant future is well-founded and IMO, right on.
I expect it couldn’t be worse than Bush-Cheney – as Reid (for once) correct;y said, it was “Bush’s plan” – but they got their ears boxed back on it!
And with conservative congressional candidates chances looking better in the polls, if/when there is another battle on this, it may be easier.
I just want to say how proud I am of this country right now. When Tina Fey was nominated Vice-Presidential-Candidate-Impersonator at the RNC two weeks ago, it was a big leap forward. Little girls all over America now have a role model to look up to. They can see that the only qualification you need to have to insult a successful woman’s achievements and intelligence is that you just happen to resemble her. Tina Fey is a shining example to hard working women everywhere that they should stop working so hard, hire a good team of comedy writers, and start using humor to distract the people from thinking about the real issues at stake. I salute you, SNL. You and Comedy Central are showing the world that you don’t have to have cogent arguments against conservative values. You just have to make people laugh.
Glad to know you!! (I do love Tennant, though…)
(Trying not to jack another thread… Sorry…)
15-7. They are giving the Colts a run for their money.
I wouldn’t know about the 70s team a that’s when I was made.
50 YEARS of our tax $$$$$$$$$$$$$ going to our ‘allies ???????’ now OVER–
US 7th ARMY no can be deployed OUT of Europe!!! YEEEEEHHHHHAAAAAA!!!!!!

US 7th ARMY now…..
DNCReform formally endorses John McCain for President of the United States and Sarah Palin for Vice President of the United States.
Immigration is a third rail for McCain/Palin. Keep in mind all of the fighting now between Obama and McCain is for the “middle” voters. If Palin comes out with a strong enforcement, no amnesty statement then the McCain ticket will lose a segment of those “middle” voters. If she comes out with a McAmnesty statement then the McCain ticket will lose a different segment of those voters. By keeping the issue off the table as much as possible McCain remains in the more electable position.
I believe that Palin will have a common sense “enforce the law” stance on immigration. I desperately do not want Obama in the White House. McCain has seen what an energized conservative base is doing for him in this election and he knows that a conservative stance on immigration after the election will keep that momentum going. I think it is wise to leave the immigration issue off the table, keep Obama out of the WH and hold McCain’s feet to the fire on immigration after the election.
A typical Sunday thread…random thoughts between chores and during the games. The chosen one is scared and willing to do anything to win “back” what he assumes is HIS presidency, but between him, hairplug and Miss I-Hate-America, they are and will continue to sink their own ship.
As I retire next year after 20 years in the Navy, I am holding my breath for the elections to see if I want a flag flown from the White House (I will refuse to have it flown from an Obummer administration).
Last thought, maybe with Sarah on the ticket, the West Coast could start swingin’ to the right-at least in Seattle!!!~~just a dream
RetFireman, re: Randi Rhodes… with all due respect Sir, please refrain from reminding the good folk on this site of the existence of that skizzer.
She is not relevant, & speaking her name on-line will only prolong her agony. Please have the decency to allow her to pass quietly into the great happy hour in the sky.
A very succinct read for those that are passionate about the pro-life cause:
Last Chance — For Life by Patrick Buchanan
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/09/last_chance_for_life.html
Thanks for sharing that. The hubby enjoyed it so much he had to pass it along.
The next President will attempt to pass an amnesty for illegal aliens AND their employers.
Whichever one wins.
75% of Americans oppose amnesty. McCain has stepped in front of this bus before and he will do it again. Watch your back.
Yeah, they Vikes are hanging in there today. The 70s team was an amazing gang – Tarkenton at QB, some good runners, great receivers, the outstanding defensive line & special teams. Back then I was a real fan. Now I’m an “eh” fair-weather fan, lol.
Yep, I was manufactured a bit earlier than were you. Haven’t reached my “expiration date” yet, thankfully.
(Knockin’ on wood and thanking my Creator here.)
Did anyone see that Karl Rove said that McCain had gone too far in lying about Obama in his ads? I haven’t seen it but if it’s true, and even Rove says McCain’s lying…
I’m watching a very interesting show on the National Geographic channel about September 11th. Surprisingly, the hijackers are repeatedly referred to as “Muslim hijackers”. Didn’t Nat Geo get the memo that you aren’t allowed to insult the religion of peace?
Yes, we do have to watch our backs, but this is not a single issue election. Obama will be a disaster for this country in more ways than one. Lets keep him out of the WH and then NEVER NEVER let up on McCain on immigration.
imjustsaying, no I didn’t see that.
“I haven’t seen it but if it’s true,” …
but I did see you use the term “but if”. So let me just do the Brooklyn beat down on yer punk arse
“But if” is not acceptable testimony in court, and you really need to go home & clean your room now.

70s… ah that was a good decade. The Dolphins had a good run during that time.
As I type this the Colts just scored a TD. I think your prediction will come to pass.
Sarah Palin & the Lying King:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWP5ljQV79s
Someone with true talent made this beauty!
My favorite football team of all time was the 1980 Atlanta Falcons. Those guys won nine games in a row by coming from behind in the fourth quarter–mainly on the strength of Steve Bartkowski’s arm.
Tom Friedman, the eternal jerk:
Lovely.
Politico hit piece.
I’m not sure what Rove thinks McCain is stretching. Don’t forget it was Rove who kept the Bush Administration from hitting back at the media attacks against him. That so worked, huh?
That’s impressive, bc.
I miss the 49ers Montana/Rice combo. Young/Rice wasn’t bad either.
Yup, Bob Griese at QB for Miami back then, if memory serves. Staubach was great at Dallas, too, then.
Yeah, as I sez, with the Vikes the fun is trying to guess exactly how they’ll snatch “defeat from the jaws of victory”!
And the idiotic Bob “the sky is falling” Herbert from the NYT:
Please, can someone get this man a glass of water?
More lunacy from Randi Rhodes describing how McCain was “well-treated, actually” by his North Vietnamese captors, and how Sarah Palin can’t be trusted with teen-aged boys.
http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=75266
Shouldn’t someone call her out on this?
Connie, Rove is just giving them enough rope… ” That so worked, huh?”
yeah, Bush is our President, no??? Seems like it worked just fine… IMHO.
Maybe someone should tell Tom that McCain is simply pledging to break down the government barriers to new construction. The US Government will not own the nuclear plants, those will all be funded with private enterprise.
Liberals really do think that the government provides for all. What a doofus.
Blah blah blah… any rant that starts with a sentence like that isn’t even fit to be perforated and put on a roll. What a trouser snake…
Time to open bithday presents and eat cupcakes! My Bella is getting quite a haul this year: a Berenstein Bears DVD, a children’s Bible, a Cornhusker cheerleading outfit, and (my fave) a T-shirt that proclaims her as an “OIF Baby Boomer”.
Babble~ suggest “Purgatory” for your husband to watch, if he hasn’t already. Awesome quasi-western.
The most popular articles in the NYT today. All hit pieces on Palin or McCain or both:
1. Once Elected, Palin Hired Friends and Lashed Foes
2. Bob Herbert: She’s Not Ready
3. Editorial: Gov. Palin’s Worldview
4. Thomas L. Friedman: Making America Stupid
5. Frank Rich: The Palin-Whatshisname Ticket
6. Maureen Dowd: Bering Straight Talk
7. Paul Krugman: Blizzard of Lies
8. The Bipolar Puzzle
9. McCain Barbs Stirring Outcry as Distortions
10. Flying the Unfriendly Skies
Note that 8 out of the 10 articles…
Are these people really allowed to moonlight for the Obama campaign?
I’ll pass it to him through the door of my bomb shelter. /s
Not in the ’06 elections it didn’t. That was pure BDS. But I’m not dissing Rove. I think, for the most part, he’s been brilliant.

Connie, are you like married or something… likin your style
The New York Times; So yesterday; Stocked with the bum boy wing of the Democratic party; Friedman,Herbert,Rich, et al.
“Two-Minute” Tommy Kramer was likewise amazing for the Vikings from 79-early 89s. Great accuracy & a great arm.
That should be “early 80s”, lol.
What? And slowdown his nervous breakdown? Not me!
Nah! I think he needs cool-aid.
The thing I remember about Tommy Kramer is he was tough. Time after time after time I saw him hold the ball till the last second before he threw it, knowing he was going to get nailed.
Personally I’m packing and getting ready to leave Hillary’s Fantasy Land. I’m heading off to Denver for a new job and maybe a vote that might make a difference.
Even though I leave WNY far behind come Wednesday I can still say: GO BILLS!!!
Heard about “The Hammer,” an overlooked movie about a 40-year-old guy who hasn’t accomplished anything in his life, but is still a pretty good boxer. An old trainer sees him at the gym and decides to give him a shot. This one has stuff for the guys as well as gals.
Corolla wrote the script and it’s actually pretty witty. There are a few belly laughs in it. Shockingly, they manage to get by without that four-letter word used 10 times per sentence (I don’t think they use it once) and there’s no sex. “The Hammer’s girlfriend dumps him, but things take a turn for the better. The Nicaraguan best-friend character is a scream. I’d definitely give this one a major recommendation.
Got “There Will Be Blood” and “Gone, Baby, Gone” from the ‘brary this past week and didn’t see what all the fuss was about. Movies sure ain’t what they used to be.
Hear, hear! That’s the wise course. Right now, we must fight for the WH. The immigration policy battle should be fought AFTER the election. No one wins wars by letting one issue drain the momentum and energy we need for the main goal here.
I remember one game where a hit knocked him out. It was scary to see because he was laying there covulsing. I thought of Daryl Stingly after the Jack Tatum hit that paralyzed him. Was “just” a concussion, though. But Kramer never let go of the ball until they put him on the stretcher.
If Kramer didn’t have personal problems his career would have eclipsed even the legendary QBs, IMO.

Anything Rove releases or any show he appears on is put on his website. I don’t see anything there to support what you’re asserting.
That’s cute, CO.
Great gifts, little girls should be spoiled. When I borrow a nephew/niece for a day I spoil ‘em rotten and return to their parents to deal with it
Another tough guy I remember well was Falcons running back William Andrews. If you got in his way, that was your problem, not his. I remember a couple guys who got in his way being left laying on the ground unconscious. Andrews had a lot to do with the Falcons’ success in the early ’80s.

McCain/Palin ’08
Palin/Jindal ’12
Palin/Jindal ’16
Jindal/Steelman ’20
Jindal/Steelman ’24
Steelman/? ’28
By then, things should be straightened out. If you didn’t hear about Sarah Steelman, from Missouri, on Glenn Beck’s show a while back, you missed out. She was the treasurer that refused to cut checks at the GOP’s direction (they were paying off blackmail!) because she said “It’s the people’s money.” She then decided to run for higher office and the GOP is supporting the DEM CANDIDATE because she dared go against them.
She’s also big on building new refineries, seeing as how idiotic it is to have so many in one place. She wants to build them in her state, which, in a commonsense world, means they would be centrally located.
Repeat after me: Palin, Jindal, Steelman; Palin, Jindal, Steelman…
You beat me to it. Both campaigns are out of line.
I understand your concern. When I retired from the Navy I refused an offer of a flag flown from Slick Willie Clinton’s white house and I also shredded my rank certificate signed by him.
Connie, First off, I love the video, but once the MSM gets hold of the fact that a Christian rock group does the song, look out. If they just cranked up the “Gotta Wake Up the World” part, no prob.
You didn’t mean the McCain campaign was going to use this, just an independent YouTube ad maker, right? I’d love it, but I think Juan McSame would think it was too much about the veep and not the main dude.
You know.. the only lying I know is that the truth hasn’t gone far enough. There is a great deal to tell about your false Messiah, and yet for some reason the MSM just doesn’t seem interested in doing their job. Why is that do you think?
Because they’re trying to get him elected.
Seriously, I prayed hard for Sarah and her whole family at church this weekend. Did you hear that Rick Warren admitted she contacted him asking for inspirational passages to read when she is being ridiculed by these jackals? (My words, not hers.) You can be sure “The One” would never need to ask a Higher Power for help…He’d just look in the mirror.
