The Atlantic should have Googled Jill Greenberg before hiring her
Scroll for updates…Atlantic to apologize to McCain for Greenberg…will not pay for photos, considering lawsuit…

I don’t feel sorry for The Atlantic magazine.
They are quite upset after discovering that Jill Greenberg, the left-wing photographer they hired to take photos of John McCain, is a deranged lunatic who manipulated pictures of the candidate to put him in a bad light — and then posted hateful photoshops of the images on her personal website and gloated about it to the Photo District News website.
Sample of her unhinged defacing of McCain’s pics, which looks like something straight out of a Democratic Underground thread:

Atlantic writer Jeffrey Goldberg, whose cover story was tainted by Greenberg’s work, writes: “Greenberg doctored photographs of McCain she took during her Atlantic-arranged shoot, which took place last month in Las Vegas. She has posted these doctored photographs on her website, which you can go find yourself, if you must. Suffice it to say that her ‘art’ is juvenile, and on occasion repulsive. This is not the issue, of course; the issue is that she betrayed this magazine, and disgraced her profession.”
Jill Greenberg disgraced her profession well before The Atlantic hired her.
A simple Google search would have turned up my post and posts by many professional photographers disgusted by what she did in 2004 and put on exhibit in 2006. This woman deliberately terrorized children, stripped them, ordered parents to “step out of the studio for a couple minutes” in concerted attempts to make children cry who were not cooperating, and then captioned the photos of the children with anti-Bush slogans.
Let me refresh your memories:
This is unbelievably sick. A left-wing photographer, Jill Greenberg, deliberately makes toddlers cry and turns the pictures into a Los Angeles art exhibit called “End Times” to indulge her Bush Derangement Syndrome. She slaps titles like “Grand Old Party,” “Four More Years,” and “Apocalypse Now” onto photos of the poor children she manipulated and goaded.
The Guardian covers the exhibit here with links to the children’s photos and reports how Greenberg deliberately provoked the children to tears:
When photographer Jill Greenberg decided to take a lollipop away from a small child, she had a broader purpose in mind.
“The first little boy I shot, Liam, suddenly became hysterically upset,” the Los Angeles-based photographer said. “It reminded me of helplessness and anger I feel about our current political and social situation.”
As the 27 two- and three-year-olds featured in her exhibition, End Times, cried and screamed, demanding the return of the lollipop given to them just moments before, Greenberg snapped away.
Someone at YouTube posted the gallery:
PopPhoto magazine published an interview with Greenberg, who used her own daughter in the anti-Bush exhibit as well, and speaks of the merits of children vs. monkeys as photo subjects:
When Jill Greenberg conceived the idea of photographing crying children back in 2004, she didn’t anticipate the attention the project would bring to her fledgling art career, or the furor it would raise. Greenberg, who lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children, is already known as one of the country’s most success commercial photographers, with work for ad clients like Microsoft, Kraft, and Procter & Gamble and magazines like New York and Time. She has emerged as a potent force in fine art with a series of acutely lit portraits of monkeys and apes, which in turn led to her work with children.
Your images have certainly caused an uproar. What do you say to people who call you a child abuser?
I think they’re insane…Maybe getting kids to cry isn’t the nicest thing to do, but I’m not causing anyone permanent psychological damage.
How many kids did you shoot altogether?
Around 35. Some were the children of friends, plus my own daughter; others came from the Ford or Jet Set model agencies. Kid models aren’t very expensive—not as expensive as monkeys, for example.
The lighting is very dramatic. How did you accomplish that?
It’s the same lighting I used for my portraits of monkeys, and I’ve been using it for some recent magazine cover portraits…
Greenberg talks about the larger purpose of her “work:”
I saw this little girl who’d come to a party with her mom, and she was beautiful, so I thought it might be interesting to photograph her. When they came to my studio, the mother brought along her toddler son, and I decided to shoot him too. We took off his shirt because it was dirty. He started crying on his own, and I shot that, and when I got the contact sheets back I thought, “This could go with a caption, ‘Four More Years,’” like he was appalled at George Bush’s reelection…
…That was one of the things that interested me about the project—the strength and beauty of the images as images. I also thought they made a kind of political statement about the current state of anxiety a lot of people are in about the future of the country. Sometimes I just feel like crying about the way things are going.
Oh, and that’s not all. Greenberg and her husband went on to viciously attack and harass one of the photographers who criticized her tactics.
The woman is off her meds. Her website is named “The Manipulator” – and the entry page features one of the sick photos of the children she terrorized for her anti-Bush exhibit.
The child abuse-for-art controversy made international headlines.
Greenberg’s by-any-means-necessary anti-Bush zealotry was infamous in her industry.
Who recommended her to The Atlantic? Who vetted her?
The editors purport to be shocked and disgusted.
This is the same magazine that pays the salary of that cretin demanding Trig Palin’s birth records.
This is the same magazine that captioned a photo of McCain “McCainloser.jpg” just five months ago.
And now they say they were “blindsided?”
“We stand by the picture we are running on our cover,” said Atlantic editor James Bennet. “We feel it’s a respectful portrait. We hope we’ll be judged by that picture.”
But Bennet was appalled by Greenberg saying she tried to portray McCain in an unflattering way.
“We feel totally blind-sided,” he said. “Her behavior is outrageous. Incredibly unprofessional.”
Blindsided…or just blind?
***
Update: The Atlantic’s editor James Bennet says he’ll apologize to McCain for the Greenberg fiasco.
Scott Johnson at Power Line points out that The Atlantic has much more to apologize for than Greenberg:
Substitute the word “hysterical” for the word “indecent” and Goldberg’s comment applies in spades to Andrew Sullivan, who has become the Atlantic’s marquee writer online. When I recently asked one of Sullivan’s colleagues at the Atlantic why it abides Sullivan’s disgrace of the magazine, he simply referred to the traffic Sullivan generates for the Atlantic online.
Sullivan is such a crude and hysterical polemicist that he long ago became a worthless if not virtually unreadable commentator. He is also utterly careless with basic facts. The case of Jill Greenberg simply adds an exclamation point to Sullivan’s disgrace of the Atlantic.
More: The magazine is refusing to pay Greenberg and is considering a lawsuit.

Absolutely. Either they did, and thought, ‘what was the worst that can happen’ or they didn’t. It’s not like she was going to knife him or anything. And it wasn’t her call as to the final photo used for the cover.
File this (Jill Greenberg’s antics) under A*hole.
That photoshop of McCain with the shark mouth is classy.
Incredible.
Some people use their talents for good others for bad. She has obviously decided to use her “talents” for bad as noted on her website.
She is better suited for taking pictures of hemorrhoid flare ups at Folsom Street Fair and Up Your Alley in San Francisco.
Her manipulation and expoitation of children is sick. I hope there is some way that civil or criminal charges can be filed against this perverted individual.
it is amazing, but do they teach research in journalism school at all? i can’t believe they didn’t know this woman’s background. my son is working on a photography career, they certainly vet better than they would have you believe. they know this woman’s work and her political mind set, too. they didn’t think that she would pull the veil off of like this until after the publication came out, i am certain of that.
no, they weren’t blindsided. they just thought it would be a little ironic i’m sure having mccain sit with this deranged liberal photographer. they didn’t realize that she was suffering from more than just BDS… liberalism is a mental disorder.
I’m afraid not, Flyoverman. But she’ll add the pics of McCain to her resume. And keep getting jobs and never worry about starving at all in her life.
Bollocks! She does it for the attention!
The Craplantic is just like the rest… if they didn’t know, then they didn’t care to know. Greenburg evokes primal emotional responses from children (we will, for now, leave out that parents left the room, allowing her to accomplish this) and then attaches her loon views to the photos.
I mean, hell, libtards are never dishonest…
Old and busted: BDS.
New hottness: MDS and PDS.
I sincerely hope that Obama loses. And that these people somehow go off the deep end. At the very least, don’t just visit the Canadian immigration website.
What a twisted libtard. I know, redundant.
But I haven’t seen this in MSM, I was just wondering what the outrage would be had this happened to BO…
What a low life scum sucker to do that to children. Every time I think that the left has reached the depths of their twisted minds, they dig deeper.
What’s next, aborted fetus art?
Sick Bastards!!
Please, madchef. Don’t give them any ideas.
Bush will be out of office soon, and now the liberal scum have two new targets in McCain and Palin to focus their hatred and anger toward. Liberals are demented and miserable people who stand for everything that is wrong with our country.
its unbelievably sick to take a lollipop away from a kid?
I think she is a gifted and talented artist.
And I think that Jim Jones was a wonderful community organizer.
What comes around…………
Pay attention, cher… Kids cry for a multitude of reasons, but going out of your way to make them cry so that you can induldge your particular Conservative Derangement Syndrome target of the day is just gross and unethical.
What a piece of work this lady is. Just plain cruel.
It is amazing, given this woman’s past and well known reputation, that any reputable publication would even tough her.
They cry they were “blindsided”? Give me a break! They didn’t just get into the publishing business yesterday, and they had to have known they were playing with fire here. The only thing they are remorseful about is that they got caught. Another example of the liberal media’s motto – the end justifies the means.
The main stream media is destroying itself from within. They gave up journalism for the pursuit of unadultereted propaganda. And they still operate under the erroneous assumption that they continue to control the information flow, and hence, the facts.
” touch” her…
I don’t think they were betrayed; I think they got exactly what they hoped for.
The Atlantic: Another one bites the dust….
Interesting aside. Among the many Greenberg clients is Anheuser-Busch. Cindy McCain’s family runs one of the largest Anheuser-Busch beer distributorships. I suppose we could always threaten to boycott the people who hire her. What magazine will now step forth to give her another forum to bash GOP pols?
Interesting that Air America ho Randi Rhodes’s new spiel is that Sarah Palin has sex with teen boys. Lots of class at that radio network. Meanwhile Clear Channel is sending trailer loads of dry and wet ice to aid the Houston area. I do hope the no-class keeps up the show of political pornography and blatant lies and hypocrisy in order that clear thinking voters can make up their own minds.
Atlantic is wrong about most everything. I mean their cover last year was something like “Why America Needs Barack Obama”
Paid fascist shills. See a pattern emerging folks?
gollumclone:
ClearChannel rocks!! They have provided the same support to Louisiana residents.
Randi Rhodes is a vapid twit (redundant?). My dog is more intelligent than she is.
A-B isn’t even an American-owned company anymore. That may explain a thing or two.
I wonder if the big ol’ Editors at The Atlantic were paying attention to events and actions at US Weekly after it ran the Sarah Palin cover.
I now wonder many subscribers to The Atlantic will now cancel their subscriptions.
Why is it when some wacko shows their offensive tripe they call art, it is written about as if they just dreamed up the plans to Mr. Fusion or a space satellite?
Conceived the idea? How about, “what attention-getting little scheme can I come up with now?”.
The Atlantic knew exactly what they were getting, a deranged lunatic (by the way, that is a perfect description of that very sick person).
Blind.
Willfully so.
They don’t even have a legitimate case of plausible deniability.
What we all know she meant.
Liberals such as these use children for their own selfish purposes. They seem like nothing but a commodity to them.
So these are self-portraits. She is revealing her inner child in her photography. If you want to get back at her and make her really cry, elect McCain/Palin in November! (But I wouldn’t schedule her to take photos of my children the day after the election…)
I’ll remeber that next time Michelle uses the “crying baby/seal” photoshop.
Yeah…when they even allow them to be born in the first place!
Photoshop a picture of Oblahblah with a turban, and it won’t take long to find out.
Is this one of those effete, pseudo-sophisticated magazines that elitist snobs put on their coffee tables to show their equally elitist snob friends how cultured they are, but never read?
As someone living in the South who is bitter and clings to his gun, I’m not familiar with it.
Chances are very few subscribers to Atlantic are going to vote for McCain / Palin. They shouldn’t bother doing interviews like this. They are always hatchet jobs and it takes time away from where they should be — meeting and greeting real Americans.
The MSM will NEVER err on the side of Conservatives
I’m speechless. Sad, and speechless.
What is happening in our beautiful country?
This is the essence of the left.
They talk about compassion, saving the children, and equality.
They treat people, including children, as objects to us to gain their own goals.
That is why I believe there are fewer true believers in Christ on the left.
Sarah Palin has God on her side
Someone on here said she was talented. Well, so was Hitler, in his own perverse way!! She needs shunned in her field, and maybe she’ll get a real job where people can judge her by her products, not her trashy by-products. I knew The Atlantic was a liberal rag, but didn’t know just how bad a one it was!! An appropriate use for it would be puppy-training floor covering…..
Atlantic used to be a great magazine – moderate, with enough attitude to take on the left and the right. With the passing of Michael Kelly (KIA in Iraq in April 2003) the magazine has slowly drifted into irrelevance. Remember, self-inflicted wounds don’t count towards your medals.
My goodness, the woman is a deranged lunatic. To have badgered children to tears and sobbing for a freaking photos would nearly bring me to throttling this photo-krone!
God forbid a photographer for a conservative magazine would ever display less-than-flattering photos of Obama’s daughters. Imagine the hysterical response from the Left!
Now, if she were a right-leaning photographer, there would already be a smear underway to destroy her, claiming she is a baby killer. Taken out of context the way the left always does, that interview posted at the lead in…
…would have generated something like this;
“Well known conservative artist, confesses to shooting small children…shows no remorse, and actually seems proud to have shot the 35 tots!” Elected Democrat Party officials call for a “Full Investigation.” Some on Capitol Hill have suggested a connection with Karl Rove, and the Bush Administration…”
But….she is a leftist nutjob, so she will receive Constitutional super-protection, and be portrayed as a heroic icon among the leftoons!
I’ve been carpooling to work with an avowed liberal lately. I am shocked to hear an actual person espouse the hate that these so-called accepting and open-minded people perpetuate. I thought they all grew out of such childishness after college.
This 51-year-old lady is actually furious that Palin didn’t abort her last child. She also said she wanted to kill her own mother when she became unable to take care of herself.
Life holds no special value in these people’s hearts. It is chilling to actually hear and see it.
Selfish children. Deranged, all of them.
I have been trying to think of the right words and phrases to voice my opinion of JG and her inhumane treatment of these children but nothing seems to be good enough. Perhaps some new words are in order. . .something like psychoderangeopathiclodhopper or perhaps megaloonytunanalretentivefartsniffer. Darn, I’ll never get there.
Liberalism is a disease.
How interesting,
Liberalism is a disease,
a mential illness,
and a religion all in one.
Sarah Palin has God on her side
The utter sadism that is revealed by this sociopath’s work is only matched by her narcissism. I can’t understand why, out of 35 sets of “parents”, none reported her abuse to the authorities.
Apparently she has no qualms about abusing her own children in the same manner. One wonders though if her attitude might be different if a photographer tormented her until she cried, and then sold the images for a profit.
I keep thinking that I can’t possible despise these people any more, and then something like this comes out, and I find a new level of hatred for the left.
Back in April they named a McCain photo “McCain Loser” that they had uploaded to their website. Oddly enough despite getting caught they still never bothered to change the name.
“The Atlantic Names Photo “McCain Loser””
So what do they have to say about that? Was Jill Greenberg also acting as their web editor?
The above is almost typical behavior of (serial) killers if we replace ‘abuse’ with ‘killing’…and recognize how selfish they are by their unwillingness to under go what they inflict.
Careful TexGator. That carpooler may become unhinged enough to perform either a very late term abortion or an early euthanasia on you, especially if McCain/Palin win in Nov!!!
I hear that, MTNEER….I hear that.
It occurred to me that if I make her mad enough by responding to her emotional diatribes with reason and facts, she just might crash her car on purpose. But, I suppose she values her car more than that. I mean, it’s not a baby or a sick elderly person. To her, her car has value.
I can’t tell you the chill I get listening to a crazed liberal wax on about any issue. She actually has disputes with herself, as it is so easy to twist her words and philosophies on their head.
Is it wrong I find this entertaining, albeit in a scary way?
Know your enemy TXGator!
The fact that this warped individual did not consider the legal implications. She may have the ACLU to defend her “free speech”, however, I bet she did not realize how much hot water she still may be in for the child photos.
Now, if I were one of the parents…
Do you really want to admit publicly you don’t know the difference bewteen child abuse and art? Oh I forgot – the name Bush was mentioned so it’s all OK.
Tacky “artistic” hellish embellishments aside, I think her “work” really sucks. And I mean that technically. Does she really make her living doing photography? She should be photographing dead bodies for the Chicago PD or something.
Yes, it’s a mental disorder. You ever notice most people who vote demorat are either on medication, or should be on medication, or are in some kind of therapy, or are always out protesting something because they don’t work? And they’re always complaining about things that are either none of their business or are out of their control? People with this kind of disorder should not be allowed to vote.
My enemy is the American who expects the government to give us everything from self-esteem to breakfast. I know. I lived in Los Angeles for fifteen years. However, I did not expect to find the same sort of liberal mindset down here in fly-over country, namely (beautiful) suburban Texas. It scares me to think that this vein of thinking has infiltrated so deeply that it affects the small towns of America. I grew up in a small Georgia town deep in the woods, and my mother made sure I knew my place. My once tight-knit community now looks like every other little city, with the same stores and the same anonymous neighbors. Once these communities are gone, where else is there to go to escape this madness? The prevailing logic, even in great swaths of Texas, parodies the liberal talking points.
Once the majority of Americans become takers, the givers will have no options.
Am I being dramatic; should I just stand down? I tell you, the day a guy like Obama can beat a POW veteran is the day I completely lose my faith in the great majority of the American public.
But I have hope.
ISn’t odd that in a world full of beauty, surrounded by beautiful children, happy and healthy because of living in the USA, this Gorgon/woman sees only hate and fear – her own projected onto her victims. Of course she rejects any responsibility – an artist and elite like herself is above responsibility to decent people – she is an “artiste.” What right do we have to judge her? It is she who is judging us through her, “art.” Kinda makes one want to slap her really, really hard across the face so some of her teeth and some blood shoot out of her mouth – capturing that moment with a photograph of the teeth, the look of pain, hate, alarm at possibly being disfigured, and display that photo, entitled , “If I were Palin.” Now that would be art.
If the magazine is serious, it will sue her for breach of contract, get a court order seizing her photos of McCain, and write a series of articles about how liberals who believe they have the right to cheat, steal, lie, destroy, and slander anyone for their self declared, “higher purposes.”
Some photo ideas to use to take pictures of Greenberg: Take a picture of her when she sees that her tires have all been slashed; or just after she is lied to and told her house just burned down; replicating her style of using photography as a medium to express her inner rage and cruelty but leaving out child victims. I am learning the Democrat style of politics but am not cruel enough to use their techniques. !
She is disgusting. As a mother, a huge red light goes off when someone asks me to leave the room. I wouldn’t have left, and my daughter wouldn’t have been photographed at any age without her shirt on. There are too many sickos out there. I wonder if those “friends” of hers are still her friends. If a “friend” did this to one of my children…
This is straight out of the Nazi propaganda book. I recall seeing documentaries of how the Nazis photographed Jews with lighting from below, which would illuminate them as though they (the Jews) were psychologically disturbed and therefore worthy of being placed in asylums designed for eugenics (or something of the sort) during the early days of the holocaust. Given the above pictures of McCain by Greenberg, and her apparent “professional” education in photography, I’d bet my lunch she is well aware of this infamous Nazi methodology of painting portraits of their victims, and that she specifically chose to photograph McCain in this way with the Nazis in mind.
And leftists always want to place Nazis on the right side of the political spectrum…
I’m just surprised and sad that Fox (especially Fox & Friends) lets these derangment revelations off so lightly and instead feature silly dog shows and runaway bride stories. Now is not the time to pose as “fair and balanced” when the overwhelming majority of the media and Hollywood is showing itself so unabashedly liberal and wants to saddle us with a historic socialist whose policies will never be rid of.
James Greenidge
Queens New York
They mentioned it briefly this morning in the first hour, but didn’t show the worst of the bunch. Maybe they’ll do more later, but I can’t watch them for too long as I lose a few more brain cells every time Brian speaks.
Where is all the outrage and indigation from the left at the exploitation of these children?
#sound of crickets#
The kicker? Greenberg says she’s the real victim here and blames the Atlantic:
Jill Greenberg Admits To Bad Photography For John McCain
Neither: blind hatred. Poor Jill must have run out of D cell batteries.
As for Jill’s technical skills, how did she get lgm and Rusty in the photo with McCain.
C’mon, you should know by now that their only outrage would be that these obviously unhappy babies were “forced to live”
This woman displays a sickness. Her manipulation of children should have been prosecuted as true cruelty to children as opposed to trumped up false charges.
Does this really have to be the lead post, Michelle?
I have no desire to see this dishonest woman’s “art”. Yet, boom, there it is, everytime I visit.
I’m going to take a zantac.
Oh, don’t worry. You will be.
It makes one think twice about having one’s portraits done by a “professional” photographer. Apparently it is not just that they own the copyrights to the negatives and such, but that they can do anything they want with them once the pictures are taken. Just imagine what could be done with that family portrait that you have taken at Christmas at “The Picture People”.
So this is what passes for “Intellectual Elitism” these days? These are the people who claim to be so intelligent that they need to do all the thinking for all of us and make all our decisions for us?
This is what the Democrats meant when they said they were going to run a “clean” campaign? this type of thing is what gives all the trolls a reason to continue with their sanctimonious, self-righteous tones when they slither out from under their rocks to spew their filth on this and other blogs?
These are the people who are saying B. Husseing Obama is the perfect choice to be President of the United States and Leader of the Free World?
Seriously…why would anyone want to vote for someone who is endorsed by a collective group of people that you would never in a million years want to leave alone with your children, let alone allow to make a decision as basic as “What’s for dinner?”
And this “womyn” is a year older than myself???? This is what passes for maturity these days? I wouldn’t think high school freshman would stoop to this sort of childish ridiculousness.
Well…maybe in a Public School…
About that photoshoot with the kids – where the heck were the parents?!
I would have grabbed my son and left.
These people are crazy. Absolutely crazy
Over at the American Digest (at the bottom of their coverage on this story) is a list of all Ms. Greenberg’s sponsors. Rather than wasting time writing our complaints to the Atlantic’s editors, we need to write to this she-devil’s sponsors and threaten a boycott of their crappy products. She’s got some of the biggest in the business…Target, Pepsi, Sony…etc. I’m writing them today.
Would anyone here risk spending a night in jail if this psycho did that to your kid? I would never hit a woman but I’d consider talcin’ up my pimp slappin’ hand for this one.
I’ll bet she was able to take her NEA grant for this project and make a little extra saving on cheap materials.
I hope these kids remember, deep down, that liberals will only cause them sorrow.
HHmm lets see-
A female artistic photographer orders the parents out of the room, orders the tots to strip, and then gets them to cry by taking away a “lollipop”.
Now if the photographer had been male, there would be no end to the complaints of him making kiddie porn.
Of course the police would rather arrest a grandmother or parents who took some photos of their kids in the tub rather than arrest a female pediophille taking nude photos without the parents being there.
The sad thing is; didn’t our gracious hostess post a simuliar article about annie lebiovitz (sp?) and Billy Ray Cyrus’s daughter being nude for a shoot?
I hope the parents wise up to this, and the next time jill wants to do a photo shoot with a child that a parent stays put to watch.
GSP
BTW-I have a degree in Professional Photography, and went back to school to get my counseling degree. Even my nudes or public service ads weren’t this bad.
.
Doug, we all agree the photo manips are obviously disgusting and distasteful to behold.
However, they quite vividly “illustrate” the media’s dependence on the most psychotic of McCain-PalinDS sufferers. Putting the media’s obsession with presenting such vile personal attacks against McCain and Plain to public view is an important point to brought to the light of day.
The more it is brought to the attention of and noticed by the general public, the better.
Whether born or unborn, children are never considered to be people in The Liberal State.
And the only adults Ms. Greenberg would treat this way are non-Liberals. Evidence abounds. See above.
With most commissioned shoots, the photos would remain the property of the hirer, in this case Atlantic. Her action of republishing these photos without Atlantic’s permission, who are the owners of the photos, she would be breaching contract and copyright I would have thought.. unless there was some alternative contract.
As a professional photojournalist myself, I noticed that the cover shot that Atlantic is so steadfastly “standing behind” is also very unflattering, designed to graphically show every age mark, wrinkle and sagging piece of skin. It is taken with harsh frontal lighting from slightly below face level. This insures that McCain looks excessively unattractive, hard, and old. It is also cropped excessively “tight”, insuring that there is nothing that visually mitigates your eye from looking at the harsh jowls, wrinkles, and age lines. Senator McCain was photographically raped by this “journalist” and Atlantic is complicit in the crime. They are simply counting on the outtakes to make their hatchet job look good by comparison.
Someday McCain will realize the media are not his friendsh and start acting like it.
The good news is that when people who viscerally hate you are reduced to fun-and-games with Photoshop — the visual equivalent of screaming, “You’re a poopy-head!” — you know they’ve got nothing left. Out of intellectual ammo, and no resupply in sight.
Greenburg reminds me of how Captain Queeg’s decision to testify turned out at the end of The Caine Mutiny. By the time he was done, everyone in the room is either in a state of open-mouthed astonishment or staring at their shoes.
More and more, the fact that Hopenchange is a dog of a candidate is seeping out — and as more and more people realize that the Emperor really doesn’t have any clothes, those who’ve sold themselves out on the illusion are going to respond with frantic flailing and screeching.
Expect more of arrested-adolescent stunts like this as reality continues to sink in.
Yes, the photographer is another elite, liberal nut job, but don’t tell me this wasn’t intentional on the part of Atlantic!!!
They’re running scared now, because they saw the backlash created by US, and the financial trouble it created for that magazine. So now, Atlantic is trying to blame the photographer!
Hogwash!
I think Atlantic needs the same treatment that US got!
And people wonder why the campaign would like to keep Palin away from the media? Do you know what people like Greenberg – and there are a LOT more than just her – would have done to Palin photos, or a Palin interview?
Gibson was bad enough, he could barely hide his contempt. Greenberg deserves to never work again.
Funny… Not a peep from the liberal media either!
Let some magazine do that to Saint Obama, and all hell would break loose.
Again, why do we have SOX for most businesses but nothing for others? News, media, etc…
Seriously, if you are going to regulate one business there are certainly others more deserviing of the headache of SOX related activities.
The Atlantic cover picture is menacing. The skin tone, texture and reflectivity (shiny nature) of McCain’s skin was retouched in a way to make the picture look as unappealing as possible. It’s not the image McCain has in person.
The Atlantic is complicit in Greenberg’s smear… and she is trash. Nothing more.
Outrageous!!! Moonbats out of control.

I’m writing a few letters. You should, too. Hitting them in their wallets is the best way to punish unacceptable behavior.
Why do I get an image of Dr. Mengele here? Isn’t that what the libs complained about at Abu Ghraib? What she did to those kids was probably worse, in their minds.
No permanent psychological damage. I suppose she has the training and documentation in child psychology to prove that? Witnesses to what she did?
If that was my child, I would show her what a “warmongerer” really was. I don’t think “warmongerer” is even a real word. I think “warmonger” is sufficient.
I can hardly wait for lgm to tell me how “the Republicans do it too” or “Bush did it” or “we do it on this page every day.” I’ll save you the trouble lgm: we do characitures and parodies, and all for the humorous political criticisms they entail. Not in a allegedly respected publication.
The woman is a political shill, and should never have been hired. Give me a picture of her, and I will show you what can really be done with Photoshop, not her amateurish attempts at attacking McCain.
