Senator Barack Obama has a 100% rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood, whereas his positions are 100% supporting abortion on demand with NO restrictions. In fact, he had told Planned Parenthood directly in a speech on July 17th, 2007:

“The first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom Of Choice Act.”

FOCA will strip any and all restrictions on abortion that have helped to reduce the number of abortions slowly but gradually over the decades.

Senator Obama made a statement last night on the abortion topic that, and I paraphrase, he “supports limits on late term abortions / partial birth abortion”. He made himself look like he was trying to find common ground on the abortion topic and likely scored points with viewers of the debate.

NOT! That is hypocrisy at its utmost when LIFE is at stake. He consistently is against ANY and ALL restrictions on abortion as consistent with his 100% rating form NARAL and Planned Parenthood and support for the Freedom of Choice Act.

See my blog that tries to take a Christian / Catholic point of view on this election. It’s my “layperson’s journey” to the Catholic Church challenge its faithful in “Forming Conscience through Faithful Citizenship”.

Breaking News:

Google had banned pro-life religious groups from buying adverts against search terms such as “abortion” and “abortion help” but was forced to abandon its policy after it was accused of breaching equalities legislation.

The challenge was brought by the Christian Institute, a cross-denominational pressure group, who said that Google’s change of heart was an acknowledgement of the rights of everybody to hold an opinion on the subject.

Mike Judge from the Christian Institute said: “Google were taking adverts from pro-abortion groups, and our view is that was a free speech issue. What we want to do is set out the acts in a pretty factual and pretty sensible way”.

Google had been taken to court by the Christian Institute earlier in the year, arguing that its policy was in breach of the Equalities Act of 2006. Initially, Google said it would fight in the courts, but changed its mind over the summer. Its new policy applies globally.

A word to those who think abortion is ok in the case of rape or incest.

Twice, my family has adopted children whose conception occured due to rape. Rape and incest are horrible, horrible things! But not the fault of the life that has begun to grow. I can attest to the fact that my two youngest children are here for a reason!

I agree with you. No child should be punished for the sins of the father/rapist. I did not intend to infer in my previous post that terminating a pregnancy due to rape was the right thing to do. If I faced such a choice, I would not do it or encourage anyone else to do it. Half of the child's genes do not come from the rapist. So I would choose to see the glass half full rather than half empty.

However, I do not feel it is my right to judge a rape victim on this issue either. Only God can judge in a situation like this. I think a rape victim should be encouraged to bring the baby to term and then either keep it or put it up for adoption. She should also be provided with any help she may need to do so.

But if she chooses to terminate the pregnancy early on, I would disagree with her decision, but I do not think the law should punish her for it. I would leave that up to God's judgement.

I agree with Wayfaring Stranger…what does this verse have to do with anything?
happyscrapper, my first response was an attempt to subtly rebuke Rob for not being mindful of the passage I quote in the second, that we speak God's truth in love, because it's fairly easy to guess that he was referring to Hanoi Jane with that passage from Ezekiel.

And while I still bear hard feelings for Fonda's traitorous junket to North Vietnam, such sharing from God's word is what gives those who oppose Christianity the ammo to call us hateful. That is a trap I try not to fall into.

God's truth speaks powerfully enough without us lowering ourselves to ad hominem attacks on people like Fonda.

Each of these little ones of mine has gifts that I know will make a difference in this world. My son is a 2nd grader who is many grade levels ahead in math, science and reading. How wonderful for us all that his birth mother was brave, noble and selfless. She gave him a chance for life and she gave all of us someone who someday may find a cure for horrible diseases.

My daughter is not yet 2yrs old, but already she shows great talent in art and is a mini-diplomat, perhaps with all the older brothers she has, she will be the next Sarah Palin. I can't wait to tell my daughter what a strong woman her birth mother is and I certainly have the proof of it.

My long-winded point is that life is precious. No matter what the cirumstances of a conception, that life has worth.

Actually, I can understand how half the country can't see through Obummer. They're as weak and spineless as he is. They're convinced that he will bring about a "new course" but he really never gives specifics. People who suport Obummer have decided to sign over control of their lives to the government. To them, government is the savior.

I think many are supporting Obummer to "right" the personal wrongs of that evil Bush guy (/sarc) while for others it's about their cherished sacred cows abortion and gun control. For others, it's race and electing the first black president. Then there are others who want as many freebies as they can get under this guy.

#39-Papa...I have never heard the argument framed so profoundly, and right. Your analogy of the mortgage is airtight when you put it that way. The sad thing is (and will continue to be) that the left will continue to say we should have a choice no matter the decisions we make along the way. So, as they will put it, kill the "mistake"...but, for example, one makes a rash judgment to, ooh say, kill someone, they want to protect their life. This is, BTW, one issue that has not been raised...yet.

2008 is a truly historic year...

As a life-long conservative woman, I am completely in awe of what is happening. I've known many lay-women in my life who believe as I do... this is the first time I can think of that conservative, God-fearing women are in the national spotlight with the ability to truly shatter the myths that NOW and modern feminists have crammed down America's throat since before I was born (in 1970).

Sarah Palin has brains, guts, and beauty (and yes, I'm afraid that beauty still matters to some more than brains do). Gianna Jessen is a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul, and the truth of her very existence cannot be denied or trivialized!! Would that I (or any of our elected officials) owned a mere fraction of her courage and faith!

It may not always seem so, but it is a great day to be an American. I have always been proud, but lately I am ready to burst with it!

God bless Gianna Jessen, and her fantastic family, and God bless America!!!

On September 16th, 2008 at 8:44 pm, Rob said:One of my favorites is Ezekiel 23:19-20

Ezekiel 23:19-20 (New International Version)
19 Yet she became more and more promiscuous as she recalled the days of her youth, when she was a prostitute in Egypt. 20 There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.
I agree with Wayfaring Stranger...what does this verse have to do with anything? It is a strange one to have as a favorite. Can you explain why you like it so much? I am truly curious!

My question still stands.

We know Oblahblah voted in favor of infanticide three times. What issues were before him that were so tough he had to vote PRESENT so many times?
