Babs in Beverly Hills: Will she melt down?

By Michelle Malkin  •  September 16, 2008 03:43 PM

It’s been the headline on Drudge all day: Hollyweird is getting ready to fork over millions to save Obama at Beverly Hills meg-million-dollar fundraiser tonight.

Barbra Streisand will sing at a $28,500-per-person gala.

Will she be able to keep it together — or will we see another meltdown?

Memories…

Remember: “Shut the [expletive] up!”

And remember her illiterate and blundering BDS blog posts?

Should be an entertaining tonight if past behavior is any indication.

They can’t help themselves.

***

Related: “Bucket of fluff” is one of the nicer epithets the celebs could toss around tonight.

Maybe it is the smug factor, which is off the scale with her. I love how the libs use this fundraiser to say that well, Obummer he’s taking money from “private” citizens whereas McCain is taking from taxpayers to fund the campaigns. Wow, do these people not see the irony in fundraisers like this for a guy that says he’s gonna look out for us? I mean, come one, the guy promised to take public funding and then reneged on it. You know…. sorta like those townhall debates.

    No matter how you slice it, the Dems and even to a certain extent, the Republicans, are no longer for the “little guy.” It’s just the extent that’s up for debate.

    I really wish that McCain would go after Obummer about his ties to the sub-prime mess and lobbyists and how he needs these 30k per person shindigs to fund a campaign. How is this an example that Obummer cares about ordinary Americans’ problems? He is a demagogue preaching to a choir of like-minded elites who’ve never had to make hard choices like what to pay for and what can’t be afforded.

    I mean, let’s get real here Dems…. :roll:

    My thoughts exactly. For the last 2 election cycles, all I hear is how bad the economy is, the misery index, the poor people struggling, no jobs, no job growth, people without health care (read insurance), suffering, working 3 jobs, can’t afford to heat the house, etc, all due to Bushs policies.

    Now here is Hollywood still making enough money in these hard times to fork over huge amounts of money for political campaigns. The common folk going to Obamas website and donating $10 a million times over raising unbelievable amounts of money. $67 million last month alone??

    Doesn’t sound like such a bad economy to me. If they can afford all that, they should continue with Bush policies. Look what he has done during wartime with multiple natural disasters and a malovent press and opposition party out to destroy him. I am impressed.

    Or maybe they are just trying to invest in the free everything system. Invest $10 now and get thousands back in free government benefits paid for by anyone but me. It will never come back to me right?

    Ever see the movie “Nuts”? In it Babs plays a prostitute who charges $1,000 an hour and has multiple appointments each night.

    It’s the least realistic, most unbelievable thing I’ve ever seen on film…and I’ve seen “Return of the King” five times.

    But I could see her as a 2 bit whore

    Streisand sang for McGovern, he lost. She supported Gore, he lost. She told everybody to vote for Kerry, he lost. She then supported Hillary, and she lost.

    Now she’s gonna sing for Obama….which mean only one thing—-

    A good way to lose an election….get Streisand to endorse you !

    Barbra Streisand will sing at a $28,500-per-person gala.

    She’s gonna sing! She’s gonna sing! She’s gonna sing! She’s gonna sing!

    I just searched the headlines of nearly all the on line mainstream media rags (Wash Post, NY Times, CBS, ABC, etc., etc.) and there’s not a word about Obama’s fund-raiser with Babs and the rest of that elitist, pseudo-intellectual, Hollywood trash. What’s the matter MSM . . . don’t you want to discuss this shindig?

    What about the orphanage Obambi promised to fund? Imagine how many meals they could have for $28,500?

    Silly - Obama will only pay for something like that with OUR money - not his.

    Do we get an attendance list (so I know who is an idiot in Hollywood, or were the photographers outside beaten up by Hollywood cops (see ABC reporter harassed by Denver cops when taping who the big donors to the DNC were)

    I know, it would be better to get the short list: who ISN’T an idiot in Hollywood, but they probably want to keep a low profile. You know how vindictive and petty liberals can be.

    A nice little note about Bab’s mental prowess:

    New Illiteracy Milestone by Babs

    If Barbra Streisand didn’t exist, conservatives would have to invent her in order to ridicule witless limousine liberals. Babs’ latest display of impaired cognitive performance can be found in a sputtering anti-Bush diatribe on her website. Drudge counts a record 11 misspellings:

    * Irag
    * curruption
    * dictatoriship
    * crediblity
    * Adminstration
    * warrented
    * desperatly
    * preceedings
    * ouside
    * subpoening
    * responsibilty

    At one point the intellectual giantess manages to misspell four words in a single sentence:

    In the 1970’s, during the Nixon Adminstration, serious political curruption arose and the Republican leadership stepped up and took responsibilty by holding hearings and subpoening administration officials.

    Amazingly, this illiterate high school graduate takes a swipe at Bush’s educational background by snidely referring to him as a “C student.” President Bush holds a bachelors degree in History from Yale and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

    Even more amazing is this claim:

    Barbra Streisand is a great speller, meticulous in her written communications!

    Thank you Ms. Streisand, for ensuring that no reasonable person takes Hollywood liberals seriously (and thank you V the K for the tip).
